    Monday, Monday

I can't believe I am starting the Monday thread.

Well my son is now married. The last week and especially the weekend has been very hectic. I can now safely say that I am glad it is over. My oldest and his wife are still here for a couple of days. They were married almost 2 years ago and haven't seen my daughter-in-law since then so I am very happy to have them here. It will be so sad when we have to take them to the airport on Wednesday. They live way out on the west coast and that is why we don't see them very ofter.

My two granddaughters were so cute dressed the same. All in all everything went smoothly and my rosary did not fail me as it did not rain.

I wish everyone a wonderful week.

Monique, I'm so happy that it didn't rain! Congrats on surviving the big day - now you can enjoy your family knowing that all went well.

        Good Morning, Everyone!!

Monique - what a tranquil picture. Isn't it amazing that you know the weekend was so hectic yet the loving couple look so at peace and relaxed. What a beautiful scene.

Other than bowing our heads and saying prayers for our freedoms, honoring all who have served past, present and future, we have a quiet day planned. Having all the grandkids so close means we quite often fly by the seat of our pants when it comes to making plans. One of them will definitely pop something on us.

Be safe this holiday and enjoy your time with friends and family!

          Happy Monday!
Congrats on making it through the wringer Monique! Enjoy the time with your family!
Deb, Sandy, and everyone else who checks in today; have a good one. We too are laying low after a busy weekend so far. We feel good that we did get so much accomplished though. I think my husband has couch surfing on the agenda while watching old black and white war movies. I may go out and watch the spinach grow if I decide not to sew.

I am in the mood for deep cleaning. (I know, I am so weird) I think I will scrub the front porch, walls, ceiling, furniture, floor. It always feels so good to have time to clean thoroughly after the school year is over. It will be so lovely to have my quiet spot spotless! I love to sit on my porch swing and read, think, sit. It is a bit windy out, but that will keep the dust away (thankfully, the wind is going the other way!). Off to scrub. Have a great day everyone!

Happy Memorial Day everyone and THANK YOU TO THOSE WHO HAVE GIVEN US OUR FREEDOM BY GIVING THEIR ALL.

Other than the deviled eggs being made, all is ready for the family/friends picnic. I needed to sit and get cooled off before everyone starts arriving. It sure is hot out there. I think it's already 90! I do thank the Good Lord every day in the summer when it's over 80 for my AC and for the heat in the winter and that I wasn't born back in the times before all that! Heaven's to Betsy - I think I would be saying "I do declare ...." alot - HAHA!

Suzy - I do the same as you. Get the scrubbing and cleaning out of the way so you can enjoy whatever space there is. We gear all up for this day and once they all leave and things are cleaned up, the rest of the summer is ours.

Well, no matter what your plans - seize the day. You will never get another one exactly like this one.

              Hugs,

We are having a quiet day, although I did get up at 5 am and did the wash. It was done before noon. I'll be sewing when I get done here. Wish you all a wonderful day and ask that you send a prayer up for all our soldiers across the world. Hugs, Jan

Monique, that is a great picture of a happy couple. I am glad that the rain didn't hit you on the big day.

I hope everyone is having a wonderful Memorial Day. Since this is not a holiday here DH is at work which is really irritating to us since we are a 3 generation career Navy family. DH told me yesterday that he is taking Veterens Day off since he is a Vet(20 yrs) At least we will be in the states for the 4th of July.

Enjoy your day and the freedoms that we enjoy.

Congrats Monique...glad the wedding went well and no rain!
I am in a pissy mood today...Over a month ago they "let an employee go" from our office and now we are all being punished it seems. Before we were allowed a person off from each office and now we are allowed only 1 off per two offices. Thats means I have to schedule my time off around 7 others before it was 3. It is so fustrating. As the senior employee it is very hard to take. I know it sounds petty but every time I try and take a day off to deal with family matters I get shot down and then my husband has to deal with it. I am so blesssed to have him!
Okay that was my whine of the day! Thanks for listiening!

Porch finally looks great! So white and clean! Anyone want to come and sit a spell before the bugs find it and mess it up?
