    It's Friday! Yay!

So, for once, I'm starting the thread. Hope no one minds.

We survived the storms last night. Tornados were a no show here despite watches. DS slept in the basement anyway because it was too hot upstairs and couldn't open the windows. DH just called to say watch the roads, flooding all over, river came up a foot just since he's been at work. Lots of roads closed. Some places got 3.8-4.6 inches of rain. Wow!

One good thing about this rainy spring. The plants (those that aren't flooded) love it. We planted lilac bushes and dwarf apple trees about 8 years ago when we build this house. A couple of the lilacs have never had more than 1 blossom but are doing better. And we've never harvested more than 3 apples from all 3 trees. This year they are loaded with blossoms; that shoudl mean more apples. YAY!

More thunder storms today and off and on storms through the holiday weekend. Looks like I'll be doing more sewing than kayaking/biking/walking. Good for my projects; not so good for my exercise program.

Have a great weekend. Maybe you can play some redneck horseshoes!

Have a great day. Stay dry. Prayers to those in need!

    Hugs,
    ;)Nancy

I got a sewing machine for my husband. Good trade, huh!?!

Yes Happy Friday and LAST DAY OF SCHOOL!
Tornado watches here too - all over Central PA. Heard on the tv that there was one that touched down in the area my son was in - yikes! He didn't see anything but said he did take 2 extra hours to get home because roads were closed all over - downed power lines and trees - so thankfully he is safe. Some schools are closed and lots of areas without power. DH is stuck in North Carolina since his brothers car broke down last night and they'll find out this morning what's wrong with the car. I hope I don't have to go after them - that would be a very long ride.
I have to work on my summer sewing list. I start Monday. )))
Well, I suppose I must get ready for work.
    Give someone a hug today!
    Hugs,

      Good Morning!
Been up awhile, reading email, news and enjoying my coffee with Gracie on my lap. That little critter has just stolen my heart completely. She is a nice armful and since I have no babies any longer or any grands in the for-seeable future, she is perfectly suited for my maternal needs. LOL.

Woke up with a big branch hitting the back steps. Felt like it shook the house. I can't believe Luscious slept through that. Walked around the house, peeking out the windows and finally went out the front door. No rain to speak of but Lordy, what wind! When Larry did get up this morning, he had to move some branches out of the driveway.

After work yesterday afternoon I finally made my way downstairs with Gracie to sew. Dinah kitty got her back up on that. She is still not taking cotton to Gracie. Merely tolerates viewing her from a safe perch on the woodstove or my sewing table. Talk about dirty looks! She is the queen of dog loathing.

Nancy, love that horseshoe picture. What a giggle.

Brother dearest has a very large snake he is trying to get out from under his house. He has a big double wide and every time they see it, it slithers back under the pinnings. Yuck. SIL went outside to find it sunning on her car yesterday and let out a huge scream. I don't know who was more afraid, SIL or the snake. Hope they keep it down there!

Have a good day ladies. I have the usual suspects this morning. And of course, my precious coffee buddy, Russell will be there with a biscuit for me. Why can't all seniors be as affable as he is?

              Re: It's Friday! Yay!

GOOD MORNING, QUILTY FRIENDS!! I've been out kissing dolphins, too.

We had a gorgeous day here yesterday and I was kept hopping all day long. Sorry the winds and nasty weather had to hit on some of my friends who live East of here. However, the Western skies are getting darker by the minute and I really think we are in for it again before the day is out - even though the sun is shining brightly. Wouldn't it be nice if we could all have some gorgeous days - all in a row. I must admit, though, that the rain is truly welcome.

Entertaining family today and have a wonderful tenderloin scheduled for a quick trip in the oven, my 'sweet' green beans, salad, sliced heirloom tomatoes, new potatoes, and followed by strawberry shortcake. My mouth is already watering. Finally, after all the years we spent apart, my brother, sister and I are close enough that we can have a monthly luncheon together and reminisce. It has been so much fun to talk over our growing up years and share memories.

Took Zoe her quilt yesterday morning and when I walked into the house she ran to me and yelled "Mine". That 2YO has her own ideas about things. She was plumb tickled and that thrilled me to no end. Momma said "You won't mind if she has it on the floor?" And I had to tell her that in all honesty I made the quilt for Zoe and if she wanted to build a tent or cuddle on the floor that was okay by me - it was made with love and everything she did with it just showed me how much she loves it, too. Wish I'd taken pictures of the big smile on her face. And then Rita comes over and says very quietly "Nana, where's my quilt?" It is cut out and ready to go. Hopefully I won't procrastinate on it as long as I did on Zoe's. Rita's quilt is a D9P using Wiggly Gardens and Giggly Gardens from Moda.

Prayers to those who need them, hugs to those who need comforting, and lots of love going out to all my Quilty Friends. SuzyQue, where are you?

Sandy----I am right here. I posted on yesterday's......and apologized. I guess you didn't read my late post. I am safe and sorry to worry everyone. We did have lots of funnels, but no real tornado close to us.....NO damage. I had a very busy day yesterday and with stormy weather had my computer off a bit lately. I am safe and thanks for worry and thinking about me!

Aren't little ones so generous with their joy?? I was watching my little Gd yesterday. We had so much fun with bubbles. grandpa pushed her on her swing , her laugh was so contagious! when I laid her down in her crib , she grabbed the little quilt my DD had made for her and snuggled right up in it. I had to take a picture and send it off for her auntie to see.

I hope everyone has a wonderful holiday weekend-no rain on you picnics!

Thank God it is Friday. One more sleep until the wedding. I am writing this with my granddaughter sitting on my knee. It will not rain tomorrow as I have hung my rosary on the clothesline. Hopefully I will have pics to post next week. Have a wonderful weekend everyone.

Love your redneck horseshoe pic, Nancy. I know that isn't the kind you play in VT!!!!!

Have a great long weekend everyone. When the sun gets too hot, come in and sew!

                          Hi All!
It's been a week. I think I'm glad it's Friday. Still not sure I'll get much sewing done.
The weekend looks as busy as the week. I still have a few hooves to trim on the old retiree lady goats. I got all of the "working girls" done yesterday. Manicure day isn't anybody's favorite, but must be done since they aren't out climbing rocks to keep their hooves worn down like their mountain ancestors. Then we have some serious barn cleaning to do. Which reminds me, I need to go get clean shavings today for that project.
I hope that you all are safe from this whacky weather that seems to be hitting most of the country.
Huge hugs to all of my quilty friends!

                            Hi Pals!
Just not spending much time on the computer although I did enter some different giveaways on blogs this week and won a cute set of 4 embellished dish towels. That sure perked me up!
Also perked me up that I finally got serious about healthy eating and exercise and lost 6 1/2 lbs this week! Got to stay committed to this!
I built a planter around a tree near our patio to cover an ugly root by the tree. Put red, white and blue flowers around it and with all this rain and warm weather forecasted for the weekend, they should be gorgeous by mid-June.
Well, I'm kinda feeling down right now so I think I will go find something to keep my mind busy. Great catching up on all you are doing and hope you have a happy and safe holiday weekend!
