    Easter pics by demand

... not that I need an excuse.

My kids tried bowling on saturday (Easter Eve) a frist for both of them! Alice has bowled before but they used a sort of slide then, that the kids placed the ball on to have it rool neatly down into the lane. At this place, they actually bowled and there were some kind of fences that came up at the sides of the lane, when it was their turn to bowl. It worked great, although the lightest ball was still very heavy for my 5 yr old David.

    Here's Alice bowling away:

David is watching his ball miss with an "Whoops!" ("Hoppsan" in Swedish). His dad is watching beside him.

When you get tired of bowling, there are always other stuff to spend mommy's money on!

Here's the salmon "savoury cheesecake" I brought to the Easter lunch, packed for the trip. To my relief nothing fell on it in the car and it tasted great! It was the first time I made it.

Here are my kids with their cousins, painting the eggs we had with the lunch. It was such a perfect spring day!

Here's the Easter lunch spread. Lot's of salmon in different shapes and forms. We had some lovely lamb for dinner, another Easter tradition.

Thanks for looking and for any comments! I hope you guys had a great Easter too!

Alice looks like she might become a good bowler. She has great form. We have kids leagues that bowl on Saturdays through the fall and winter. You should put her in a league if you have them there. David just looks confused. Would love to see the expression on his face.
All the food looks good, but I'm not sure about the salmon. I am not much of a sea food lover, so any kind of fish would not be my choice.
Glad you had a nice day for all your festivities.
My 9 and 11 year old niece and nephew had fun finding eggs from our egg hunt, but I think they had more fun rehiding the eggs for their mom and me to find. They rehid them twice.

God, Grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change,
The stash to make a quilt to help me cope,
A quilt to give to comfort those I love in times of hurt, fear and uncertainty.
And the courage to keep on sewing when life itself seems held together by a single thread of hope.

they are adorable! I was the assistant bowling coach at my school-had so much fun! sadly, due to arthritis I cannot bowl myself.

Easter bunny is not really a part of our Easter. From what I understand there was an attempt to make it so, back in the day, but it never caught on here. For me, it's an American thing.

When I was a child I used to draw lots and lots of Easter drawings (usually of decorated eggs and chickens), dress up as an old "crone" (or witch), grab a broom and an old coffee pot and walk door to door, exchanging my drawings for candy or money. It was great fun, sort of like trick or treating but I had to give them something for my treats. Some kids still do this but it's not as common anymore - my kids didn't want to.
