Night Owl sitting in my tree while watching the road....

Owl blue.jpg as DS#3 and DGS Ben are expected to arrive soon. When they arrive they'll probably go right to bed so earlier I gave the upstairs bedrooms a quick check and the rooms and bathroom are good to go. We'll catch up with news and stuff tomorrow. Forgot, Stella their new dog will be with them, she's been here before and is no problem. Since I'm a Night Owl I'll be the one letting her out to the back yard during the night.

What are the other Night Owls doing tonight?

I am experimenting with the exploding block pattern. At first blush, I said no way with all that scissors cutting. But several of us figured you could precut at least the center of the blocks with the rotary cutter before you sew them on to the block, and finish the last inch to the corner with the scissors. This works great, and it really doesn't take that long to make each block. And they turn out really cute! I have 12 made in an hour, so 5 minutes each. I can live with that! I'm going to be making a small quilt because I am using small charm packs from Big Lots, should get 28 blocks from my 4 charm packs. I might put some matching yardage in there to make 30 blocks to make it at better size. Now I need to go to bed!

I am getting ready to head to bed after a looooong day in court.

        GREAT news & Oh! news.

The judge returned our grandson to our son! There were no charges/allegations against him, he & his fiance cleared the background checks, AND he had been documenting all of the odd bumps & bruises when he picked him up for his visitation, working towards figuring out what was going on. They saw no reason to keep him from his son!
I'll be watching GS while Dad is at work.

My husband & I are now fostering his little brother for the next 30 days. This gives mom time to get her poop in a group and see if she can offer a better life for him, while still allowing the boys to be together a large portion of time.
They didn't mention our offer to take the child until the very last moment. The mom's attorney was trying to get the court to place both boys, or at least the one, back in her care if she moved in with her grandparents. The judge was hesitant to place him there with charges still pending. While slightly odd, this gave the court the best option. The boys would be together a large portion of the time, GS would be with his father, the younger wouldn't be in state care until this is cleared up.

It was hard to do this. I don't ever want to go there again. I know I have at least one more trip to make. Hopefully his momma will get it together and be able to take him home by then.

Thanks for all of your kind words, prayers, and support. It meant a lot to us.

Re: Night Owl sitting in my tree while watching the road....

I sat down to watch the Tonight Show and decided to cut the pieces for block #3 of my Block of the Month. I picked it up today. Once I get the pieces cut I decided I would do the 9 patch center piece made up of 1.5" blocks. The I decided I would do the next border. By then Late Nite had come on. I then decided I could do the 12 HST and have the outside border ready to attach tomorrow. Then I thought, it won't take that long to put it together and so I have my 3rd block done.

Then I had to check FaceBook and see if there was anything earth shattering I wanted to respond to. (There wasn't). So then I decided to check here and see what everyone was up to. I need to get to bed. I have thought it was Friday all day, so I'll have my second Friday this week I guess.

            Good night, sleep tight!
