    Second Thursday in May

I don't have a calendar in front of me. At least I know it is the second thursday of the month. I think.
Oh the migraine is pretty much history. It was a wimp as far as they go. I kinda laid low and took my execdrin and it headed it off at the pass. I think this was a weather/allergy related one.

Lissa - why were you feeling so frisky at 1 in the morning?
Jan, very happy to know that Gina is moved finally and happy in her new place
Does anyone know if we have anyone in the group affected by all this terrible tragedy of
    1. the Alabama tornadoes
    2. the flooding of the Mississippi?
All of these natural disasters are horrifying. I have never heard back from my former room mate in Japan. Much prayer is going up for the folks affected. We may get some bad storms roll through but thankfully the area I live in is fairly insulated from super bad stuff.

    What's up for you today?
Off to get ready for work. Days off just fly by.

    Re: Second Thursday in May

    Good Morning All,

Looks like good weather for us before the rain starts tomorrow and all weekend. Oh well, at least we've had about 5 days in a row of good weather. Can't remember the last time that happened.

Got up early to salvage through my stash bin and cut up some 4" batting squares for the rag doggie quilt I'm making. Off to work today and a little racquetball this afternoon.

DH has been up to camp since Tues. Son and I will meet him there tomorrow for the weekend. Hopefully he's made good progress on the bathroom reno - getting sick of that project.

Hope everyone has a great day. Best wishes for those with health and weather problems; seems like there's too many to list individually but you are all in my prayers.

    Hugs,
    ;)Nancy

I got a sewing machine for my husband. Good trade, huh!?!

Rise and Shine - that's what I am trying to do. I have risen, still working on the shining part! haha!
Was up twice through the night. Thankfullly I fell back asleep after I was up a bit. Not much going on here - still going to do things to get prepared for the yard sale at my sisters on Saturday. The weather doesn't look like it wants to cooperate though. I figure the more I do now - get the yard sale change, make the cookies to sell (can always eat them here), get boxes and get things priced - the less I'll have to do later. And, that will give me more time to go through some more things for a later date.
Didn't get the stereo hooked up yet, but at least it's upstairs here and the piano is cleaned off for it's new tenant soon. That's where I decided to put the stereo system. We had a nice glass case for the whole thing, but can't seem to find it nor have any idea of whatever happened to it.
So - another day here trying to get the kiddos at school to try to learn something even though most of their minds are on summer vacation - can't blame them there, I am doing the same thing.

Well, you all have a super fantastic day and bless someone out there in the world.

      Hugs,

Morning all....nice weather here today and tomorrow, but then the weekend will not be so nice. Still do not have my sewing machine yet. I got one off of EBay, and was supposed to be delivered last Friday, but UPS messed up and it ended up being sent back to the shipper. Was not happy about that. Did convince them to send me out another one instead of waiting for the first one to come back. Should be here tomorrow. IT BETTER BE!! Can't wait to get started sewing my first quilt. Still have to figure out what I want to do...

2 more days of work, and then I am off all next week. Plans are to do some "spring cleaning" and planning for my baby's HS graduation in June. And of course, leaving plenty of time for quilt planning as well.

Take care all and Happy Thirsty Thursday!!

          Good morning all.

Well there are only 2 1/2 weeks until the wedding. There isn't a whole lot of time to quilt in between. Oh well, it can wait. Have to get this house in order. My oldest son and his wife are coming home in 2 weeks. I haven't seen him for almost a year and haven't seen his wife since the wedding in 2009. Happy is me.

That's about it for today. Oh yes, finally got high speed hooked up. Man, it is so much better than dial-up!!

          Have a wonderful day everyone.

            Hi!
After yesterday's deluge we have a bit of sunshine this morning. It is supposed to be sprinkled with more showers, so we'll head out with umbrellas in tow.
After Em's speech therapy gauntlet today I am headed to the neighbor's farm to get feeding directions from her for next week. I also will need to let out the next door neighbor's dogs while he is on duty at the firestation tonight. His wife is out of town so the poor things would have to wait 24 hours before they could go. I figure it is a fair trade. He comes over and helps us put hay in the barn in the summer. I love our neighbors!
I did manage to get two more borders on the honey bun quilt yesterday, I have a few more to add to get it up to a usable size for an adult lap quilt. I like the pattern, but the blocks stretch every which way. I hope that when I quilt it it I can block it well enough to make it square up.
Off to run through the shower and get the rest of the day under way!
Take care and have a good one!

Feeling a bit snarly today. DD4 decide to make a quilt for her sister's shower. Wants my assistance. won't listen to anything i suggest. Did I mention the shower is SUNDAY???? IF we both survive this the quilt will be cute, however........

DH took me to Walmart the other day. left me in the gift wrap to collect what i need (yes i'm still on crutches)while he did other shopping. Came back all excited cause he saw a bunch of 1/2 price fabric. So off we limped to check it out. I did find some that will work for me. DH patiently waited to get it cut while I hobbled toward the checkout to wait for him.

Went back to the DR. this week. My foot is healing, no bones shifted but I'm still looking at another 5 weeks of the boot and crutches. Very inconvenient.

                Re: Second Thursday in May

Good Morning everyone. I had to laugh to myself reading all of you talking about the rain and cloudy weather. I'm on the other end of the spectrum. We've had fourteen hundredths of an inch (I think that's 0.14 of an inch) of measurable rainfall so far this YEAR. I'm sure a lot of the states get that in humidity in an hour. The drought is alive and thriving in the US Southwest.

I should be working on the financial statements for the Board meeting on Saturday, but I'm the great procrastinator when it's something I don't really feel like doing. I wait until the last minute. I made Spike, my wiener dog, a new blanket last night and now feel a tad guilty that Ginger doesn't have one. I just did a quilt as you go out of flannel. He sure liked it, slept under it all night and is back under it after breakfast and a trip outside. Ah, the life of a dog.

Karen, I love your quote, and I also have a canine Spike in my life, but my guy is a Pug.

Bakermom, you made me chuckle with your DD4 and her quilt by Sunday. Good luck! And enjoy that half price fabric, Walmarts in my part of the country don't sell it at all anymore.

Hope everyone is having a great day. It's my short day at work again today so having a friend over for a glass of tea and some chit chat, then after dinner will work some more on my boy's QFK quilt. Got the blocks done, just need to square them up, sew them together and add top and bottom borders. Coming along!

I thought it was funny when Bakermom said 'her DH came back all excited to see 1/2 price fabric". There is no way mine would have even seen fabric, but for hers to notice the fabric AND price - she's one lucky duck! She needs to hang on to him for a long time.

                    Hugs,

I'm feeling with you! As long as it's getting better. Next year this time aroung you won't remember it anymore. At least that's what my grandmother used to tell me. But it won't work every time, as I learned from my experience.
Your DH is like mine; he sees things like that too and he also helps me alot, as I'm still handicaped having an algoneurodystrophie in my hand after the bone fracture.
                      Keep going!!!!
