    Language question.......

    Tomorrow my brother Douwe is having his birthday!!!!
    He is turning 51, I am 51........on April 7th I turn 52.

    There is a word for being within a year and not being twins.....we are thinking about it and we can't seem to find the word.
    Please help.......

      Siblings born within the same year are sometimes referred to as "Irish twins" .

                My birthday is on April 7th too. #60 for me this year. And I have a brother and sister born in the same year Feb and Dec. funny thing is I did not know they were called Irish twins. You learn something new all the time

                          I didn't either until 12 years ago when DS#3 said his DD and new step DD were Irish Twins and he had to explain what it meant. I grew up with so many Irish friends and married into an Irish family and never had heard that expression before. As she said, you learn something new all the time.

                            I have cousins who are Irish Twins.... One is gone now, but they were, indeed, born in the same year....
