Three beautiful children have just joined DD Bethany's family. For those of you who don't know, DD and her husband are foster parents and have had about 20 kids come through their home, including two who have become their forever children. The three new children are Zander, age 5, Alex age 4 and Mary age almost 2. Along with 2 year old Christian, there are now six children in the home all aged seven and under!
I have to change their names and can give only a little information on them, but the short story is, they were left home alone while their mother was out getting high. Zander took his brother and sister and they walked together to the police station looking for help. Yes, this is another heartbreaking story, as most of them are.
I am here asking for prayer, first and most of all. Also, if you'd like to send B an encouraging card, I can send you her address. She would be so pleased. I'd also like to know if anyone would like to make any of these children a quilt. Z and A are in regular twin beds and M is in a toddler bed. I am in the process of making C a quilt and will not be able to get to another one quite yet. We try to give each child here a quilt of his/her own. They come with almost nothing (these kids have the clothes on their backs) and it is wonderful for them to sleep under a quilt of their very own. Let me know if you're interested in making a quilt for one of the children.
Thank you for your prayers and the love you give long-distance to these children. You are so appreciated!
