Okay, I'm late - Fat Tuesday hellos

Happy First Tuesday of March, Happy Fat Tuesday for all of our party-ers and Happy Snow Day to all who got dumped on again the past few days.
We got ice, sleet and then snow yesterday. Fun. I went down to Mom's in case the power went out due to ice. It did bump a few times last night and I hated getting out in it this morning. Brrrr. Needed to get some real coffee and feed my kitty and pooch.
We didn't get loads of it, just that as you well know, ice is difficult to traverse. In snow, here on The Hill we got about 2 inches. It is the ice under it that made my trek fun.
No school today, the county announced that school will be in session this Saturday as they have already taken up two of the Easter Break - oh wait, it's called Spring Break these days - anyway, two of those days have been taken for make up days. The roads will be a mess until this afternoon and then we are to get another round on Thursday. OY!
It IS March. Some of our worst weather is in March. And how can I forget freak ice storms that have been called No'Easters hitting us in April? Please join me in a round of winter? Bah Humbug! It's not the cold I mind too much. It is the inconvenience. So many here have been far more inconvenieced than I have.

I did some hand binding yesterday. I discovered a huge load of UFO's. Plus there are so many that I had on a shelf to work on. I want to make more blocks and have fun that way but need to get some of these completed. I found two quilt tops I made years ago - one when I was a young teen - hand stitched curved pieces. It needs a bit of repair and then I will hand quilt it. Then I found the first scrappy top I made on the sewing machine. It also needs to be quilted. One of the things I have found out about myself is that I am true to myself. I mean, my tastes have not changed that much over the years. Interesting. Our fashionistas may switch the names around but I am still grooving on the same type of style. Yep, interesting. I am sure that there are studies out there that define this phenomena.

Off to feed the wood stove and get some kitty love from Dinah

Blessings to all and don't forget to smile!

Happy Fat Tuesday Blondie! It's slick here too. Snow and sleet crusted over...what a mess! But we still have power which is always good. On the Today show they just showed young kids a rotary dial phone...They didn't know how to use it. Boy, does that make me feel old! Have a safe, happy day!

        Good morning...

All of you with ice out there...be careful. I saw where Texas has ice and power outages in the area where Bernadette lives. We have snow on the ground and a little ice, some icy spots on the roads but not terrible.

Stay warm and have a great day!

Morning. No snow here. Lots of rain. March is always so fun, isn't it?

Today we're going to Seattle to help my middle son Joshua. He's having his second cataract surgery. Yes, he's too young for cataracts, but his cancer treatment has been wreaking havoc with his eyes and this is the result. He's so brave and never complains. It just blows me away. They actually insert new lenses into his eyes during the surgery. Amazing. Please pray for him today. He needs a quick and full recovery.

I hope everyone has a wonderful Tuesday. Spring is coming, I promise! Hugs/Prayers for all who want/need....

                Happy Fat Tuesday!
Libby I will pray for your son. I had cataract surgery & it didn't hurt at all. The best part is you see the results immediately afterwards. I dint need glasses for distance anymore, such a blessing.
May the road rise up to meet you...
May the wind be always at your back...
May you be in Heaven a half hour before the Devil knows you're dead...

                  Morning Blondie & Everyone,

It's slicker than snot here today. We have a little over 2 inches of ice underneath about 3-4 inches of snow. I just came in from taking the Girls outdoors. There are deer tracks all over the yard the Dottie wants to go tracking.

Libby, my late Hubby had to have double cataract surgery because of his cancer treatments. I will be praying for your son.

I have cabin fever but I don't dare try to drive on the ice. Jeff has been having trouble getting to the highway. Our country lane is treacherous.

Please pray for my friend, Nancy, who just found out she has cancer everywhere and has a very short time to live. She will leave behind a married son and two grandchildren and a daughter with a malignant brain tumor. This is so terribly sad. Thanks you for your prayers for Nancy and her family.

I hope everyone is warm and safe. How about Bob going to Florida for a few days!!...Lucky Duck!

Yes, today is another day. Yesterday was pretty productive. I got a top put together from an Oink A Doodle Moo Charm pack. Hoping to get it sandwiched and start on the quilting today. Just gonna straight line quilt I think. We didn't end up getting the amounts of ice and snow that was predicted, which is a good thing. I have been trying to help the young lady that is organizing the benefit for the couple that lost their baby. I wish there were more I could do. She seems to be overwhelmed. I will do what I can do to help, and pray it goes well. Hugs and blessings to all. Prayers for those in need.

Hello everyone! Well, we were supposed to have all kinds of bad weather yesterday, but we didn't get a thing! Yahoo! I am so done with winter.
Yesterday was a very productive day for me too. I did some quilting on Julia's quilt, but then needed to take a break from that, so I sewed together a double layered fleece blanket that has been pinned and ready to sew for a year! I also made 12 circle blocks for a COC quilt and sewed two tops together for the PICU group. I was feeling very accomplished by the time I went to bed. Today I plan on doing more quilting on Julia's and working on the others too. Hoping to be able to mail out the COC and PICU quilts in the next week or so. I just love days like that.
Will keep Libby's son and Barbs friend Nancy in my prayers.
Hope everyone has a great day! One day closer to spring!
