WOOHOO... DD2 was offered a job this morning!

...And I get my car back soon! She interviewed on Friday during an 11 inch snowstorm. The interview was all the way across town (90 minute drive that day in a blizzard!). I guess it was worth it braving that storm. They knew she had another interview with another company today so they called early this AM to offer it to her first. We are all so relieved and now Jim's car guy is hunting down a car for her. For 7 months I've offered her my car and worked my appointments and errands around her schedule and all of a sudden I'm free! Can't wait to visit every LQS in town! We're celebrating tonight!!!

Wow Lilly! That's teriffic! One of my happiest days was the day after my son got his college diploma he was offered a full time job that let him move out of the basement and support himself! He took his sweet time getting the degree, Like 7 years in community college, but one real intense year finishing up to get his bachelor's degree! We were all doing a happy dance!

Terrific news! My youngest is a college sophomore-so she's a long way off from landing her first big career position. But she did purchase her own car last fall-and I'm proud of her-and relieved I have my car back! I am pleased to announce she recently was awarded a scholarship for next year-one of 20 given out by my husband's company. It's only $1500--but it's renewable for the next 3 years and will help pay for some tuition next year. It's those little things that make my day!

Lisa - That scholarship is a wonderful opportunity - good for her. My daughter sold her first car when she went on a 2 year mission and now is back living with us and needed a job before a car. She's out looking at 2 cars right now. Can't wait!

Jean - that sounds like a wonderful day to me and very considerate of you to keep your son at home for 7 years. DD2 will (hopefully) move in with bff when bf's lease is up in 4 months. DD2 is not acting as giddy as I would be right now but maybe she's just stunned. She needs to buy clothes etc besides the car. Her bank account is a little thin. But it is a really good job in her field and a very nice salary so I'm sure, like your son, she will be self supporting soon.

He was working and going to school, so we were only providing housing and some food. I sat him down and told him to get serious to finish. He was a good son and did it in one year, went to school 7 days a week at three different campuses his last semester. We were proud of his accomplishments.

I hope your DD's new job is something she enjoys, and hope she finds a nice snow car to drive!

Thanks everyone for sharing in my excitement! This forum is better than Facebook - which I've almost abandoned since I found MSQC. (And I don't have to worry about the 2 DD's getting upset about my silly posts.) You are all wonderful!
