    So, it's Wednesday

    Good Wednesday Morning, Ladies

Been spending the past few days getting caught up on sewing some blocks. I am not a speed sew-er. I am happy each time I finish one little block. At this point I have completed 10 various blocks to go out in the mail for various swaps I entered into the first part of the year. I am contemplating dropping out of one, perhaps two. I do enjoy them but gosh, it's like having a second job. LOL. I did win in a Block Lotto the other month and received over 40 blocks in the mail. I need to get them together. It will make a nice size block.

Rainy here - lots of rain last night - I need to go back down to the basement and sew - hoping to find it dry! It's always a good feeling to not see Dinah kitty on a raft . . .

Lola, hope hubs doesn't have a broken foot! Will he go back to have it re checked?
And Mary! How goes it this week after the surgery? You are still in my prayers, dear lady.

Hoping everyone keeps their head up high; I am married to an enthusiasticly patriotic fella who has been in the bestest mood for the past few days. Why, he even ate PBJ sammies last night since I spent all day sewing. Wonder if I can squeak that one by one more day?
    Sewing mends the soul.

    Re: So, it's Wednesday

I'm awake with the cold symptoms causing me to keep a kleenex/tissue bos with me everywhere I go. AND the waste basket in sight..
I wanted to get my starburst quilt finished yesterday, but the symptoms just interferred with any progress- No cooking, no cleaning.. LOL.

So I see the doc this am and put a 2 week hold on some minor surgery.. DARN, took me 7 months to get that surgery approved, now--- ?? Life just isn't fair some times.

The weather here has been rainy and cooler than usual.. but the birds keep on churpin and fighting outside my window.. why do they start before dawn??

Hope all is well with everyone.. Judy

      Good Morning,

Best wishes to everyone suffering from all those illnesses and injuries. It's no fun being under the weather.

Speaking of weather....it's still raining and is supposed to all week. Lake Champlain reached and all time high level last week and now it's raining more. Lots of flooding. Our little Lake Carmi was the highest I've ever seen it last weekend but we still had about 2.5 to 3 feet before it reached the camp....finger crossed. We have lost a bit of shoreline and Bob had to shore up our dock landing due to washouts. Life at the lake I guess.

Hope everyone has a wonderful day and has a chance to get some sewing in. Most of my sewing these days will be on the weekends.

I got a sewing machine for my husband. Good trade, huh!?!

Happy Wednesday, Quilting Buddies. It is raining and very dark in central NH. YUCK! But I remind myself, based on the winter, it could be snow! haha! Hope to get some sewing done today. Going to try something new and stretch that comfort zone!
For the folks that are dealing with challenges of any kind...may things get better for you. Thinking of you and wishing everyone well.

Good morning everyone! I hate to rub it in but here in the Houston area it's 46 degrees the sun is shining and there's not a cloud in the sky. It's very unusual to be this cool outside at this time of year. I'm loving it and think I'll go weed the flower beds before quilting. I don't know about you all but I have to do my "chores" before going to my sewing area or nothing gets done! Have a great day everybody!

My calendar does look like I can slow down for a bit and get caught up . . . that is unless dear grandchild #7 decides to make an appearance (which is likely from what I hear). Then, I'll be knee-deep in kids for a while.

Last Thursday went to the Missouri State Quilt Guild show in Kingsville, MO - Powell Gardens. Enjoyed it - mostly because I was with my little Sis. There weren't as many quilts on display as I had imagined, though there were some outstanding ones. Saturday we took four of the granddaughters to Arbor Day celebrations at the Missouri Conservation Commission offices nearby. We came home with red bud tree saplings and some hazelnuts. The girls all had gift bags full of goodies and Rita won one of the door prizes (a softball - which at 4 she said she didn't want because when she threw a ball it would never go where she wanted it to go). Big sisters meanwhile took it for their own. Then it was off to Watkin's Mill where they participated in the Spring at the Farm celebrations. What a great place for kids. The old farm house was a wonderful place to explore and they got to make rag dolls, homemade wooden tops, planted seeds, made wild flower clay balls for throwing out along the roadways, made their own jump ropes, watched sheep being sheared, got to pet a real live gigantic Tom turkey, and lots of baby rabbits. Guess how many kids slept all the way home.

I was hoping it would be warm enough for me to be outside doing some necessary clean up today but it's still too breezy for these old bones. Off to do some hand quilting and maybe I can get this quilt ready to bind before the end of the day.

            Hugs and prayers!!

              Morning!
Beautiful blue sky but cool today. Supposed to warm to 60 and that thrills me. I see some 70s in the future!
Yesterday I was in such a funk and can feel myself on the edge of it today. Maybe some machine quilting will help my mood. Thinking maybe I need to exercise more to help burn off some calories and funkiness. Gonna open the door and let some of that 50 degrees blow in while I quilt.
              See ya later!

                Howdy All!
the sun is shining here for a bit. We are supposed to be expecting sun breaks and rain showers all week. We are just glad that it's supposed to be over 50 degrees!
Pushing for completion of the Wild Things swap blocks today. Somehow I seem to be missing the center of one. I may have just counted wrong and I have enough, or I counted wrong when I was cutting and will have to make another center set.
I also want to bake some cookies, but can't decide if I want oatmeal craisin or chocolate chip. Hmmm. I suppose I could add chocolate chips to the oatmeal craisins and then have it all. That will come after the sewing though.
                You all take care! Cathy

                  Re: So, it's Wednesday

                  Hey there!
I'm back and have snapped out of my funk!! Headed right to the quilting after I left here and found out a little secret that made my quilting go alittle faster on this....I can sew in reverse?? There are several parts of the quilting design that are only a few (10 to 12) stitches and I was turning this big quilt almost 360 degrees to sew that far, duh....why can't I go that far in reverse! Now if it was the car I was driving I would not attempt this but it worked very well! Once I got my fabric situated into that flat "sweet spot" I set my speed to "turtle" and stitched the few stitches backwards! Then I did not have to twirl the quilt so much and the quilting went much faster and even looked better!! I might not be the first to do this and I would not attempt on a long stretch of fabric (or road!!) but it is the small things that make me happy.
It looks so gorgeous outside that I am taking a break and heading out to putz around and spring clean some of the patio area.

Patti, I am so glad you have found a way out of your funk. I spent most of the winter there and after I wrote this morning I headed to the hardware store, bought a new leaf blower and went out to clean out our front entryway. Just getting that done has helped my mood tremendously.

Tired now so I'll sit back down and do some hand stitching!!

Hi everyone! Day in/day out - mostly the same. Hope the rains stop soon.
Couldn't make Katie's game on Monday - too far away and had a meeting that evening (church). Hope to make the games Thursday and Friday. Still waiting for the 'meeting' to happen with the other mom. I'm still interested in finding out who the counselor is for her.
Well, guess I better get some dinner. Went to the local library quarterly booksale tonight and scored some quilting books. Also got DH the Vol. I and II of Sherlock Homes stories. He is thrilled!

Well - will check in later gals!
                      Hugs,
