    Saturday has arrived at last

Good morning friends. I see the sun just starting to peek out. It will be a lovely day. Today is my niece's wedding reception. They got married two weeks ago in Mexico. I borrowed clothes from my friend yesterday whom I had lunch with.

Canada won another gold medal yesterday in Curling. Our men won over Great Britain. The Olympics end tomorrow. I will be glad when it is over, but it has been exciting for us Canadians.

Not much quilting getting done in this house these days. I am off next week so I need to get back into my sewing room.

    Have a great day friends.
Blessed are the children of the piecemakers for they shall inherit the quilts!

Good Saturday morning, nice and sun shiny here in Jersey and temp will be about 35-40 so more snow will be melted, it better melt fast as we're expecting snow on Tuesday and Wednesday.

DH and I did enjoy getting out last night for dinner as we used to do on Friday evenings back before the Snow and Ice Age descended upon us. So many others had the same idea and the local places were packed.

Monthly Pillowcase Sew In at guild this morning. Last night I checked out the parking pad by the building we use and limited spaces were cleared so I better get there early. Using my shopping cart to tote by sewing machine, pillowcase fabrics, supplies and other stuff for the first time and hope it all works out well. cart.jpg

Ah, yes, finally Saturday. But I woke up a number of times during the night with stomach pains and am not feeling my best this morning. It's starting to feel a bit better now though. But I think I will be tired for the rest of the day.

I will be heading into Brooklyn to pick up my ds and my granddog, Booda. Haven't seen them in well over a month and since ds is dealing with depression and is unemployed, I like to actually see him rather than just speak on the phone. I get a better idea of how he is doing then. If he could just find a job, I am sure that would help his depression tremendously although I know that he will always struggle with it. They will probably stay until the end of the week or maybe even until next Saturday.

I have a table runner I want to finish today. Then I have 3 casserole covers I need to start on. I also want to work on designing a new summer quilt for my bed. We will see just how much I get accomplished.

      Have a good day everyone.

        Good morning....

A sunny morning here and temps are supposed to be in the 50's today. I have already been out in my sewing room and working on my quilt. I hope I can get the top done today...but this one takes awhile. I would also like to get in some quilting practice today.

Not much of anything I have to do so I think I will just enjoy the warm day because the cold will be back tomorrow.

Have a wonderful day! Prayers and hugs

          Good Morning,

Jeff and I are heading out to Cuba to work today. We have to get an apartment ready for the new tenants and Jeff will start painting the second one. It's not going to be a long day. We're taking the Girls along, which always adds an interesting challenge to our day, especially when Jeff paints. I wish we didn't have to go, but we've been unable to work there is weeks because of the weather and me being sick.

Our winds are gone and we're left with the mess to clean up. We will be picking up broken glass forever. The patio table flipped over and broke and we have glass all over the patio but also in the landscape rock and the grass.

I have to get moving to get us ready to go. I always make us a good lunch so we don't have to eat fast food.

Wishing everyone a good Saturday. Monique, I'm ready for the Olympics to be done with also. Canada really made a good showing this time! I'll be glad when all the athletes are out of Russia and back to their homelands. It's been a tense two weeks.

          Hugs all around, Barb

It's Saturday and I can move a little. Maybe my Fibro flare is easing up.

This afternoon Kat will drop off Zander, Oliver and Miss Penelope for a sleepover! Yea!!! They're using a Date Night Coupon they got for Xmas and going to a Black Angels concert in Atlanta. Great for us, we get to smooch the grandbabies and snuggle with 2 in our bed. Miss Penny will be in her crib in the guest bedroom, she conks out earlier in the evening still.

Looks like everyone has a busy weekend planned. Stay safe and enjoy.

May, sounds like you are going to have a good day.....

Re: Saturday has arrived at last

                Good Morning all . .

yesterday was a semi busy day - had to check inventory - check in new stock and before the rain started I had to clean up an 8 foot table to bring in the house so that I could put together a long table runner for the Birthday girl
-- got the table in the house just as it started to rain -- had noooooo place to really put it -- so I set it up in my bedroom . .
*LOL*~ *really*~ - with all kinds of thoughts running through my mind on the what the hubby was going to say about that while under rolling and trying to cut my huge cutting mat to lay flat . .
WELL!! - my extra long 10 minute table runner took over 4 hours . . *ugh*~ . . I swear that blasted phone is hooked to the sewing machine
when people call - they don't want to know about the weather or how me and the hubby are doing -- they want to know the scoop on the neighborhood and the new peeps moving in next door .
OR they are wanting to borrow money or they want donations . *ugh ugh*~

finally table runner done and all wrapped up real pretty - and then I wrapped up one of those 3 hour fireplace logs . . LOL*~ as the birthday girls joke gift . . she's known in her neighborhood as the firewood begger -- the last time I spoke with the birthday girl prior to last night - she was off to hunt up some firewood .. L*~ -- so she took the joke very well

us girls meet up for dinner - the birthday girls Mother is here visiting from Iowa - she and I have a good time picking at each other - but I have a few bruises this morning from her smacking my arm 1/2 the night . . L*~
-- birthday girls Mother has early stages of dementia - the Dr's took her Dr license away -- and after spending time with her over
the pass few weeks -- she might not be able to come visit next winter season and that saddens me -
seeing her this way just flooded my heart and mind of my memories of my Dad and what he went through

well after the long drive home - *since I live in what use to be the sticks of the country*~ - everywhere I go takes about an hour or two drive - but thats ok -- I wouldn't trade the quiet over all that noise for nothing
so when I got home - the fur babies failed their security test . . L*~ -- they didn't hear me come in until after I opened the door . . NOT good . .L*~ . .. gave the hubby on the run down the evening . . and THEN . . he says
aye . do I have to start clearing out the guest room? . . for what, I ask - who's coming to visit . . he says . .
                whats with the table in the bedroom . . *LMAO*~ . .
Hun . it was raining - I had no place to set it up to make the table runner --
then I went into all the reasons WHY I needed my studio completed *orange peel smiles*~

so now it's going to be another semi busy day -- have to fill a huge Fragrance oil order and then jump in the buggy
to head up to the border for another Treasure Hunt meeting *thats a 2 hour drive*~ . . the Search and Recovery ship has been approached for a reality TV show -- NOW that is exciting

with all that said - time to get in gear - have a super day everyone

                ''Make it'' a good day

Re: Saturday has arrived at last

Aahhh Saturday. Day to sleep in a bit.... NOT

At 2 am I finally gave in and woke my DH up to help me get out of bed. Pain so bad in my right shoulder I thought the top of my head was going to come off. (would rather go through labor)
I pulled a muscle, in the middle of my back right between the shoulder blades yesterday at work, and it took about 8 hours to rear it's ugly head.

So for the great part of Saturday.

We have company coming up today, from Seattle, to spend the weekend, and then we have carload after carload of others from Seattle on Sunday, along with local friends.

YIPEE!! Racing season has started and we are going to be eating non-stop and watching the Daytona 500.

So now it's off to the store for all of the eating essentials. (oh maybe some wine and beer too) Maybe some pain killers wouldn't be a bad idea either.

So you all enjoy whatever you do this weekend because you can't get it back.
                  Sometimes I wake up Grumpy!
Other times I just let HIM sleep.

Re: Saturday has arrived at last

Good morning folks! I had to deal with the results of my email being hacked all day yesterday. Seems the hackers placed me and my (late) husband in Ukraine, starving, cold, penniless, with no luggage, purses or credit cards, begging for a $10,000 ticket home. Since my late DH has been in heaven with his angel wings on for 8 years, I don't suppose we would have needed money for a ticket for him, he could fly home on his own! Now, me, that would have been a different story! I love vacationing in a cold, revolution-torn country for grins--on the biggest day of the rioting, no less! Come on, hackers, update your story! This one is so old, no one will fall for it. It did make for a lot of phone calls from people I haven't heard from in a while, so maybe that was good.

However, they did render my email inoperable, so I spent the last hour on remote control with the ISP agent, while she fixed the mess. Hopefully that will be a thing of the past.

I started to create my Sochi inspired quilt last night. I hope my idea can come into reality, since I used three small jelly rolls as the raw materials for my concept. Hopefully this won't end up as a UFO in some box.

Hope you all have a great day!

Re: Saturday has arrived at last

I slept in late, made it to 9am. Really unusual. I have to do that awful four letter word -- WASH. I have two or three loads to do. I have a retirement lunch to go to at 1pm. It is for one of my neighbors. There is a group of 8 of us that run around together and do stuff. We call ourselves the Nit-Wits. I am the youngest at 52 and the oldest is 83. But the 83 year old puts the rest of us to shame. She walks six miles a day. Last summer she bought an adult tricycle to start riding the Katy Trail. When the weather is good she is out gardening and such. Rarely a still moment for her. Then around 2:30 or 3 I have a friend coming over from Fulton, MO to pick up a new car. He doesn't drive in Jefferson City, except to get to my house, then I'll drive him to the dealership. Not a very exciting day for me.

Hope everyone has a great day. Oh by the way it is already up to 46 degrees and sunny. So I hope we have a beautiful day.

Good morning. Today is my parents' wedding anniversary. I'm sure they are celebrating in heaven. Dad passed away 28 years before Mom and she never stopped mourning him. I miss them both but I'm glad they're together again on their anniversary. It's a pretty day here, probably the last warm day for awhile. But spring will come soon. Wishing everyone a happy Saturday.

Re: Saturday has arrived at last

Good Morning all! I have been up for a long time, but was working from home for a bit - so wonderful that some stuff can get done remotely. Love accomplishing things while sitting on my couch in my jammies, sipping coffee!

Last night, I finally put the backing on the little quilt I did for Sue's Stillborn Bereavement Group and got it "quilted" - I love these little projects - they use up stash, allow me to try something new and hopefully will bring comfort to someone going through a very difficult time.

I have some D9P blocks on my design wall that are going to make their way into some more mini quilts for Sue. I just need to find the right border fabric. I am going to back with flannel and I have that picked out already.

Also been working on a square in a square with the fabric from a charm and strip swap last year - all in black and white.

I am heading into the sewing room, got to get moving!

I'm not just buying fabric, I am supporting the economy...

A bad day in the sewing room is better than a good day at the office.

Weird dreams and some odd leg pain got me up earlier than I'd have liked. It sounds like I'm not the only one with cramped up muscles this morning!

I have a few things to do in the sewing room today. I need to finish Em's new curtains and possibly make a run to JoAnn's for a chair cushion form. He desk chair could use a cushion on it and it looks like I'll have plenty of fabric from the curtains to make a cover for one. I might have to pick up some batting while I am there since I think it was on sale too. I might make that run before the Miss wakes up though, as that could take much longer to get through the store with her brand of help.

I'm going to go have my bowl of cereal & a cup of coffee and decide after that.
                            Have a good day everybody!

Re: Saturday has arrived at last

Good day all. As many of you know, yesterday turned out to be a very good day for me. After my wonderful news from the doctor, I got to take my 5th grade GD to her Spring Dance. She looked beautiful, and I had such a good time watching her be all 'girly' with her friends. She loves her Gran though, and spent time with me too. She would hug me and kiss me and give me that million dollar smile. I was thrilled. Thrilled that she beats to her own drummer, thrilled that she is unique, and thrilled that she was not embarrassed to kiss and hug her granny in front of all those girls and boys. I tell her everyday how proud I am of her. Proud that she thinks for herself, and makes good decisions because she knows right from wrong. That she doesn't 'follow' others, just to 'fit in.
Then after my 'wonderful' day. One of my teeth started hurting last night. I need some dental work, cuz all the meds the past year also wreaked havoc on my teeth. By bed time I was in agony. Took something for pain, tried to go to bed...the throbbing started. As luck would have it, I had some lidocain liquid for my throat. Took a cotton swab, put it all around that area and got it numb enough to go to sleep for a while. Got up this morning to throbbing pain again, and jaw all swollen. Yep...got an abscess. Nothing I can do about it til Monday...but more luck. I had a full prescription of amoxocillan. So hopefully by Monday, it will feel better when I call the dentist.
Hugs and blessings to all. Prayers to those in need.
