How can this be - my little whine

Tomorrow we have a "Monster storm" hitting us at rush hour. It is the "worst storm of the year" - and this is one of the worst years with record cold and high snow totals. I know the fluffy white flakes will be pretty but DH will go to work regardless and he drives from one end (we live east) to the other end of the metro area. The storm will last through rush hour on Friday. I'm bummed and worried. I keep thinking we're coming to the end of this winter but it is only February. Last year we had a sizable storm in mid May. Ok - one more whine - next week we go back below 0* for much of the week! I think we've had about 5 days in the normal range all winter. The storm starts out with ice - the worst kind. I've kept a stiff upper lip until now and tried to be positive but I think I'm raising the white flag!

I figure the Monster is going to spread east to many of you in the coming days. Stay safe everyone and keep an ear on the forecast.
    Thanks for letting me vent.

I feel your pain. We have had more snow the last few weeks than we usually have all year, and it didn't melt. We usually get a snow and two days later it is gone. But this just held on. Spring where are you?

      Eileen,

I can understand what you are saying. I work in New Brighton but live in Chisago City, 32 mile comute. I came in to work at 4:30am today so I can hopefully be out of here by noon. I am hoping to miss the worst of it.

I know you are all really weary of winter this year. I especially understand being worried about your safety and that of your family. I will keep you all in my prayers. To those of you that can stay inside and quilt - do!

We are expecting a little snow, then freezing rain and then rain starting tonight into tomorrow. And I have to work tomorrow. YUCK!!
Blessed are the children of the piecemakers for they shall inherit the quilts!

I understand how tired you are of winter. You all have been slammed with really awful weather. I hope your husband stays safe this evening.

Re: How can this be - my little whine

Thank you everyone! As it goes.... the storm is holding off until after lunch today - but snowing through lunch tomorrow. Here's my new concern; DD #1 has an important job interview, 35 minutes across town at 10 tomorrow. She's an engineer, just back from volunteer work in the Philippines for 2 years, so it's not an entry level job that she can just blow off because of a "little snowstorm". She's not used to snow, obviously, or driving here. I try not to worry and tell myself that "the safest place to be is the center of God's will" but I'm her Mama. So if you all can pray for us that would comfort me a lot!

Hope you and your family stay safe and warm. Maybe your daughter's potential employer will call her and reschedule.
