Don't sweat the first showing. Did they give any specifics on what was too much work? If so, you can consider what they have said. It doesn't sound like they have a very good attitude anyway. They're not going to find a 'perfect' house unless they build it themselves. Perhaps not even then.
You'll get sold, I have faith.
    Cheers!

Well, the response of our first showing was disappointing....the young couple told their realtor that our house was "too much work"? I hope they do not perceive "life in general" that way. Really? Every home that contacts for sale must be in pristine condition? If that's the case, our home will not sale!

Fort Smith is a wonderful city. My dad's brother and sister-in-law moved there after WWII. They lived there until they passed. I have three cousins there. I have said for a long time that if I moved from where I currently live I would definitely consider Fort Smith. I hope you enjoy your new city and find lots of new friends and fun places.

Congrats that DH got the job, and now you both have a job downsizing for the move.

We moved into our small 2 bedroom home in 54 years ago with a small truck and 2 cars, now we have a 4 bedroom plus home it would take 2 long trailer trucks to move us. Been trying to declutter a bit at a time, right now it's books. Family will be over this afternoon and I'll have 2 boxes of books that they can choose from and the rest are going to the library. I also need to get rid of a lot of what I call my 'at home' clothes, old knits and sweats that I wear around the house as they are double my presentable clothes.

Whoa! Our home went on the market this past week, on the web on Tuesday the 11th. We got a request to show the 1st showing yesterday, the 15th (on National Quilting Day). I can't wait to see what the feed back is on the first showing. My great neighbor stated it was a young family of four (Couple and two daughters)!

I have relatives in Fort Smith and have visited there numerous times since being a child and into adulthood. It is a beautiful city and the weather is better there than here. I have always thought if I moved I would go to either Springfield, MO or Fort Smith, AR. Good luck with your move and relocation.

OMG...the clutter in this house. Hubby and I worked all weekend on the basement and got the majority of it done. A lot of packing was done; most of it my Navy daughter's things. There is maybe one more box for her to pack. We have tomorrow off and we'll hit the upstairs. We both have sore muscles and achy today....it takes everything we have to move!
And great news and quite hopeful....we think we have found a home (rent with option to purchase) in Greenwood, Ar! So, there will be a lot of purging and donated things in this house. Need prayers and good thoughts coming our way and hope all goes without a hitch.....Arkansas here we come!

Congratulations on the new job. I know moving can be a stressful and hectic time. But just take time to breathe.

Congrats to you hubby on the job and best wishes for you move! I am in the same boat with you. We are moving out of state in March and I too am in the process of going through all my stuff, packing what I want to go with us and culling out what I don't. It's actually very freeing to let go of things I haven't used in ages (or in some cases completely forgot I even had!) and pass them on to someone else who will no doubt treasure them.

And I am really happy to hear that you are in a town that does not have BSL. BSL is pure bs!

Marilyn...Halona is taking it so-so. One day she is excited about the move (you know, the days when she's been picked on at school) and now that it's a reality, she doesn't want to move.
I can understand at 13 she's in the funny stage of hormones and not sure of who she is. and moving to another state is a big change since Missouri is all she's known. DH and I have explained to her that it is what is best for our family and we truly feel it will be much better for her in a more rural area/small school district. Halona complicates the move with "what if" factors....

Well, we have an American Staffordshire Terrier (bully breed). I've had to do extensive research where she can come with us in Arkansas. Thank goodness, the area we are moving DOES NOT have Breed Specific Legislation issues! And Central Arkansas is the worst. Thanks for the info, though!
