    While You Were Night-Owling

What do you do when you are very sad to pick yourself up?

My son Jacob is a nurturer and hates to see me unhappy. He sometimes has to drag me upstairs and shove me in the bathroom with orders to take a long shower. When I come back downstairs he has hot chocolate and hot, buttered popcorn for me near the couch, where there's a quilt and a book waiting for me. I haven't told him yet that popcorn and hot chocolate do NOT go together because it's the thought that counts.

Sometimes I buy myself something online so I have a package in the mail to look forward to, but I do this very seldom. I think tonight will be one of those nights. I need me some happy mail!

    What do you do?

Make a baby quilt. Can't be down when I think of little ones.

Nothing in particular. I usually don't buy things when I'm down. But then, most of my "down" time is when I am running tight in the budget department, so that may be why. This long, cold winter has got to be getting to so many.

Hope you feel better soon - you have a very sweet son. I think popcorn and a hot chocolate sounds pretty good to me.

I wrap myself in a soft quilt and lie on the couch and day dream, usually about a movie or TV show I recently saw. I sort of expand the story so every problem is solved quickly and simply and everyone is happy. When the story I make up begins to bore me I know I'm feeling better because I can't wait to get to a dozen or more things I've let go while I was feeling down.

What a sweet boy you have Cyndi! Happy mail is a great idea too. I've never thought of it that way. Personally, I'm bad about just going to sleep. Sleep makes it go away. Not a very good thing to do I know. When sleep won't come I wrap myself into some sort of project.

I read your other post and I just can't imagine what your family is going through. Words escaped me and I didn't know what to say. I'm keeping you in my thoughts for sure.
