    Shirley Temple Black

Today we lost someone many of us truly loved and admired. I've never tired of watching these old movies of Shirley Temple. For those of you too young to know who she was...heres a little sample.

She was very much my favorite actress. She is so adorable, as a kid and as an adult. So easy to like. And yes, such beautiful eyes.

Shirley Temple will be especially missed by my generation. I remember getting a Shirley Temple doll when I was young. I loved her movies...such a talented and adorable little girl.

I always enjoyed Shirley Temple's movies when I was a child. "Heidi" was a favorite of mine. I hope her memory lives on in those movies.

And not just an actress who brought all of us joy: Shirley Temple also became an ambassador to Ghana and Czechoslovakia under the Carter administration.

I saw the Biography show a long time ago and was amazed at how smart she was. As a little girl she memorized everybody's lines and would let them know when they forgot them.

Also, her mother could have won the Worst Mother Award.

                      RIP Shirley.

Truly a woman of substance. Shedding tears knowing she no longer graces our earth, but so grateful to know her films will live on. I just hope all of us will make sure we introduce our younger folks to her films to keep them alive. We have so few really wholesome and worthwhile films for our little folks these days. It seems so much of what they see now are computer-generated, animated films. There is so much quality in her films. All children should have the opportunity to experience these treasures.

She was something else wasn't she? I miss seeing her movies. Every once in a while, i'll be lucky and find one showing, but they are hard to find. Heidi was a favorite - I haven't seen that movie in ages!

My sister and I used to sing and dance to Good Ship Lollipop all over the house when we were little.
