The snow here is bad enough that last night they canceled school for today, even at the area colleges.
My street has still not been plowed, and it's 11 a.m. Normally they would have made several passes by 8 or 9. So I emailed my boss and said I can't get there. It's only 5 miles from my house, but there's no way my minivan will make it through 10" of this stuff. He emailed me back and said he had no trouble on the road (he's a half-hour north of here, and they also had about a foot of snow) until he got to our town.
So today I've stayed in my nightie until now - gonna' go take a shower, get dressed, make a big pot of chili for the family (DS's # 4, 6, and 9 are out plowing/shoveling with their uncle's service), throw in a load or two of laundry, and SEW!!!
And I'm wondering...
Should I feel bad that I feel so good? My boss is there at the office, and there is almost no one else there... my partner didn't make it in, and neither did the receptionist... Should I feel guilty?
Nah.
