    Possible TMI

If any of you have had experience with unusual nipple discharge, could you please message me? Going into detail could get very personal very quickly and while I'm ok with it, I don't want to offend anyone else. Thanks.
If you can't see it from 50 yards away on a galloping horse, it doesn't matter.

The nurse in me is saying...GO TO THE DOCTOR. Could be mastitis or something worse.

Been to the doc, prolactin levels normal (spontaneous lactation at 50 - after a lifetime of being purely decorative - would NOT be amusing!), waiting for pre-auth so I can an ultrasound, have approval to see a specialist, and know there may be a biopsy in my future.

Get that checked out immediately. As far as I know that is NOT normal. A doctor visit is definitely a priority.

I had it for years after nursing. Would still get that 'let down' feeling. Nothing wrong with boobs. It went away after I went through menopause. But glad you are being checked out.

I have no advice to add other than to say I hope you get it figured out and resolved quickly as that doesn't sound like much fun.

And to anyone who might be offended by your completely legitimate question: We all have bodies and they all do weird or gross things sometimes. I know that if anything weird goes on with little man and I can't talk to the Dr. right away I'll be asking here because we have the collective knowledge of hundreds of moms and grand-moms which is probably better than any med-school education in the world.

Marilyn, having never given birth or nursed a baby, ANYTHING coming out of there is abnormal. THe girls -- like my other girl parts - are apparently purely decorative. Doc did check prolactin levels, just in case - at nearly 50 and after an entire adult life of infertility -- I suddenly start spontaneous lactation. Everything normal there.

So true! And on a lighter note HandsomeRyan this is a reminder for when little man arrives, keep this in mind...

Meli, glad you went to the doctor...now be sure to get that ultrasound done and biopsy if one is needed. I'm not only a nurse, but specifically an oncology nurse...I see way too many people with cancer that just ignored symptoms that could have caught it early.

Wow. I'm overwhelmed by the responses from everyone. Since none of you are being shy, I guess I won't be either. Last week, DH gave it a squeeze while we were lying in bed talking. It wasn't a hard squeeze, and certainly nothing new. A blob of goo came out, took us both by surprise, and both of us thought it was something to do with lactation. Then, of course, it became kind of a weird game to see if it would keep doing it. What comes out is straw colored and thick. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that it's just an infected duct.
