The power of prayer is amazing and I know this is a great group of people so I wanted to post this information in hopes of a miracle. This was just posted on my Facebook and this little girl is the daughter of a friend of a friend---she is only 10. Anyone that is interested in sending a card to brighten her day & will bring her smiles and some comfort. She was at the hospital today to have her lungs drained and find out what size the tumor is in her lungs. Hospice has been brought in for this sweet little angel in order to keep her as comfortable as possible. I will be sending her cards and will be making her some items to help brighten her days---I am hoping to be able to make enough so I can send her little items every few days. Her mom stated that she is getting depressed because her lungs and breathing make it hard for her to do even simple normal activities. Here's the information and original posting:
Korie Howard is a beautiful 10-year-old girl from Knox, Indiana who is in a losing battle with cancer. In the fall of 2012 then 9-year-old Korie was experiencing some knee pain. After a trip to the emergency room, there was an area of concern on her x-ray that turned out to be osteosarcoma or cancer of the bone. Since then, Korie has been several different chemo regimens, which she cannot handle, multiple radiation treatments, off and on hospitalizations, and surgery to have a total knee replacement and femur resection. She just recently began an experimental drug to try to help stop the cancer from spreading. Despite all efforts, the cancer continues to spread. On January 21, 2013 Korie began experiencing shortness of breath and an increased heart rate. After an x-ray, it was discovered that the cancer has now spread to her lungs. The doctor’s have given her weeks to months to live and she is in the process of being switched to hospice care with comfort measures only. Please if you could just show her love and inspiration and pray for a miracle. Amber Howard, Korie’s mother, stated that Korie has become increasingly depressed due to being unable to do the simple things in life, like walk. Back in December I started the Operation Smiles campaign to get people from near and far to send Korie letters, cards, or anything that will bring back the smile to her face and inspire her to fight. If you could help by lighting up her eyes with cards, letters, or any kind of inspiration, her address is:

Let her know where you are from so she knows that there are people from all over who care about her and if you cannot help by sending her something, then please go to her Facebook page, Korie Howard’s Fan Club!! Fight Like a Girl Korie, and let her know there that you are pulling for her. Get added by asking to join the group and then you will get updates there on how she is doing.
Korie is a huge fan of Taylor Swift and her mom wants to get her tickets to an upcoming concert or even better, try to get Taylor to take time out of her busy schedule to just give Korie a short period where she can forget about having cancer and be the kid that every 10-year-old deserves to be. If you know someone that could pull some strings to make that happen, THAT WOULD BE AWESOME!! FROM B100
