    Forummail from "bkthomas" aka Kathy!!!!!

Last night Jan came home from the last walk with the dogs before bed, and he checked the mailbox.
He always does, but this time there was something HAPPY instead of catalogs and commerical folders.
When he came in he handed me a brown envelope.............YEAHHHHH forummail!!

Couple of months ago the DD was " Concerto" charmpack bby Bernatex.
I had prommised my niece a while back to make her a cover for her violin in her violin case.
I went on the hunt for fabric and had NO luck at all, so when this DD came on I thought that was perfect for her.
Just had to have this....haha....... I asked Kathy if she could order it for me, we just had a thread with DD tips if you don't need it someone else might want it etc etc....
She was happy to order for me and ship it across the famous ocean.
The waiting began, M* was busy and it took a while before she got it.
I was fine with it and told my sisters youngest daughter there was fabric coming for her violin.
Yesterday the package came...........WOW what a pretty charmpack, the colors are SOOOO beautiful.
I can't wait to get started.
    But......there was more!!
In stead of 1 charmpack she had orderd 2, and she bought me a very nice keychain from the beautiful state of Utah!
On top of that she made it a gift!!!!
What have I done to deserve this......I feel so lucky to have this group of friends around me.
Dear Kathy thanks so much, this is so sweet of you to do.

This morning Jan got his Rand Mc Nally out, he loves forummail just as much as I do....
He looks up every city and learns about population and all the things there are to know about that place, when I tell him something for on here, he asked where that person lives, and gets his Rand Mc Nally out again.......
    He loves it!

Here are some pictures of the beautiful fabric, the perfect keychain and Jan with his favorite map!!

It ain't no sin to be glad you're alive!

This makes me very happy to help our Quilty Friends in other countries!
I have been remiss in my "Pay it Forward's" and I plan on fixing that this year!

How incredibly nice. The fabric is beautiful and how nice that you received 2 charm packs and a keychain! We do have wonderful quilty friends on this forum Please post a picture of the violin cover when it's finished.

P.S. I'd love to help some of our international members so they can avoid some of the high shipping costs -- maybe we need to start a group for US forum members that international members can contact if they want us to buy something and ship it to them? Just a thought.

What a great story, the gals here on M* are outstanding and so thoughtful. Makes me stop and think that since I've received so many forumpackages lately I need to get moving with some PIF gifts, I need to share the wealth of their generosity with others.

Kathy is the best, as I have received forum mail from her too and I use her mug mats every day.

That is awesome Dawn, most times I can't justify the shipping cost to Canada.
Blessed are the children of the piecemakers for they shall inherit the quilts!

You know our quilting gets some husbands involved even if they have no idea what quilting is about. Jan's interest in where everyone lives is one nice aspect. My DH can't sew a stitch but he has met many of my local and online quilting friends. The past few years he has come with me to Lancaster PA for the show and meeting up with many of my online Circle of Quilters pals from PA, VA, MA, ME, NH. I don't do all the shopping and running around any longer and just stay overnight but I get to meet them for dinner, our annual Show and Tell and Challenge then hang with the gals and guys at our motel. The guy quilters are always glad to have another male to talk to about sports, road conditions and whatever as they don't seem to endless want to talk about quilting. They also tend to make big intricate quilts.

Whenever we plan a trip I always try to find an online quilter to meet for lunch or at a quilt shop. On our trip last week to CA DH remembered the quilt shop I met a quilter in several years ago and I was pleasantly surprised Back Porch Fabrics was still in business in Pacific Grove. Now if I could only remember who I met there years ago.

Enjoy your fabric...It is such a wonderful idea for US to order the DD's for our far away friends, and then forward them on. Postage is so much cheaper that way. I am always willing to help out if any one needs is.
