Tuesday is always a good day to smile

    Happy Tuesday Folksies

I should've kept my mouth shut yesterday; it is beginning to rain. Just gentle drizzle but I know what's coming. I am so sick and tired of the wet stuff. I reckon it just goes to show that we humans are never satisfied for very long with any meteorological condition. How funny, since I remember the other summer doing a rain dance. Ever since then, I have considered how to market those moves.

Before I got out of bed this morning, I was just lying there, hoping and praying that Luscious would turn the alarm off before it started it's blaring sound. We always wake up before the alarm. I suppose it is the conditioning in our brain sort of like Pavlov's dog. Our internal clock is always ticking away, keeping track in it's inmitatable way, of the day's events which eventually turn into life events. What ultimately drove us both out of bed was the delicious aroma of coffee brewing and the sound of the spluttering last drops going into the pot.

I wish everyone a special day, rain, wind, snow, whatever. Find a way to make it a happy one. Smile!

    Good morning!

I can relate about waking without/before the alarm.

I have more tobacco seedlings to transplant than I care to think about today so if you need me just look for someone with dirty fingernails. The tobacco are research plants that we do scientific experiments on. We use tobacco because it is easy to grow, fast to grow, and it has big leaves which are easy to work with in the lab. Some of it is a different variety from Australia that doesn't really look like regular tobacco but the stuff I'm using today is good ole' field tobacco. I'm sure as a NC resident that Blondie is familiar with what tobacco plants look like as I think NC is one of the leading producers in the US.

I made a little more progress on the double hourglass quilt last night. I think the Mrs. is working from home today so if she takes a break she might cut more of the strips I sewed into the triangles I need. Love love love that Fusions Textures Jelly Roll.

I guess at some point I need to start working on the class I am supposed to be teaching this weekend about Gardening To Make Baby Food. I do my best work at the last minute though so why put off until tomorrow what can be done the day after?!

I hope everyone has a great day or at least a better day than Blondie's toe.

        Morning Everyone,

I've been up a couple hours looking at embroidery designs online. I want to make some cute little zippered bags with my emb machine.

It's going to be cold but clear today. I have an important dr appointment this afternoon. Jeff is taking off work early to take me. I guess the Girls will ride along also. We don't seem to go anywhere without them in the back. Olive is great in a vehicle and Dottie settles down after a bit. She likes to explore the back part of the truck.

        Wishing everyone a blessed day....Barb

Good morning everyone! I am up but not necessarily at them.....coffee isn't done yet. I have a serve safe class today...re-certification, that takes up an entire day....grrrrr...it what has wiped out my 2nd day off this week. I am very territorial about my sewing days!

Had our Jo Morton club last night at the LQS....should be interesting. I love her fabric and patterns and we are doing a block of the month quilt she put out this year.

Ryan, What are you testing for in the tobacco?

Blonde, I don't think there is any precipitation in our forecast for the next 10 days yay!! Temps appear 40s and 50s too! Let's hope!

Barb can't wait to see the zippered bags! Rhonda, the swap will be fun...gonna get started on mine tonight!

          Everyone have a great day!!

Re: Tuesday is always a good day to smile

Good Morning I was another one who could not sleep last night. I was so tired then woke right up. Good news is part of my to-do list is done. Bad news is I have a feeling I am going to want to crash this afternoon.

The wind really picked up here at 5AM. Some of my to do list includes an order to the Missouri Star Quilt Company, getting my grandma's quilt frame ready to quilt on - it needs new fabric and a really good cleaning (it was out in the barn for a while), a few phone calls, and the biggest activity is getting out the Baby Lock Symphony manual and learning the machine. I did spend last night cleaning out my sewing box. It is amazing how many items get put in there but are not used often.

Ryan, have fun with the plants. Getting the hands dirty is one of the things that I miss from the farm. My husband spent some time in corn seed research and I always found it interesting. If you get a chance, would you please post a picture of the "different variety from Australia that doesn't really look like regular tobacco". I would like to see what it looks like. Missouri use to grow a lot of tobacco but does not anymore. St. Joseph use to be one of the buying location - I remember seeing it as a little girl. It is long gone by now and replaced with a furniture store.

Have a wonderful safe day everyone

Good Morning all! Heading in to work early again today. Have a doc appt this afternoon - just routine - already checked my blood work online and my diabetes numbers are ok, but cholesterol is still going up. If it ain't one thing, it's another! I think I will ask to see a nutritionist. I get in such a rut and have a hard time balancing everything. Maybe I should choose the word balance for my "one word" this year....

After that, getting a haircut tonight - a friend of ours does it and a few of us get together and giggle, so that will be a good time. I better get a move on or I will just snuggle right back in and continue reading the forum.

My niece had her baby yesterday - all 9lbs 6oz of him - both are doing great!

Barb, have had you in my prayers along with Blondie's toe and several others around the forum, including Sawyer (and his awesome parents).

              Hugs and prayers to all.

                Good morning everyone.

Rhonda.......so glad to see that your sister is interested in quilting.........get her hooked good!

Barb..........I was thinking about you last night...........prayers to you for appointment today.

I did vacuum the floor in my sewing area yesterday..........does that count as having a productive day in the sewing room?!

Ryan, I spent many a hot day in my youth, pullin' tobacco. Way in the back I have an old tobacco barn that is mostly in ruins now due to an end of season storm some years back.

                      Good morning.....

I could have easily slept in this morning....well in as much as 6 a.m. might be sleeping in LOL

I woke up real quick when I pulled into the parking lot at work....ICE!!! I started sliding and wondered if I would get it under control before wiping out some cars. The roads were fine. I was happy to find out that I'm not the only one that slid across the parking lot.

Well I need to get to work....have a wonderful day! Prayers and hugs
