I just wanted to let you know l've got an operation on wed 27th of april

Well I saw the specialist today and l've got an operation/ arthroscope on my right knee wednesday 27th of april............... Dr is going to clean it out and also possibly repair my cartlidge if its torn or damaged.

I know several folks that have had this surgery quite successfully and are amazed at how much improved their lives have been. Keep your attitude high and positive, do the therapy and soon you will be better than before!

Lisa, good luck with your surgery. I'm a big supporter of physical therapy...it makes a huge difference. So my advice is get into therapy as soon after surgery as they will let you and make sure you do the home exercises they give you. It will help your recovery so much and speed things along. good luck! i had a meniscus repair about 5 years ago. Could not believe the difference. wish i had done it sooner. Go to PT it makes a world of difference in your recovery.

Ooooeer, Lisa, that does sound very painful. I wish you all the very best for a successful outcome and quick recovery. Because of my age I am now eligible for free bone scan and bone density medication which I accept very gratefully.

I hope you have some interesting hand sewing and some good books to keep you nice and quiet and still until you are well again.

Thanks (((((((((((everyone)))))) Yes its been very painful ..tonight l had a massive headache coz of the pain and throbbing in my knee. I took some pain killer and finally it kicked in and l fell asleep sitting bolt upright on the couch hahaha..........Bakermom....did you have to wear a brace after it was done and use crutches???. I promise l'll do phyiscal therapy....I'm going to make up all my strip sets in the next few days and l'm going to go and buy another charm pack so l can make pinwheels as well ...I've got a amazon kindle as well so l'm not short of books.. Also hand quilting for my class l'm doing.

I didn't wear a brace but they did put me on cruches at first. PT for 6-8 weeks
I had put off going to the Dr. because i thought it was arthritis and didn't think they could do much besides shots-I have a terrible fear of needles. got to the point i had to crawl up the stairs at night. when they said it could be fixed with surgery i said do it asap. Other than some burning at the incision sites at first i have been pain free ever since. if I had known it that's all it would take i would have gone sooner. I realize my experience might not be the same as yours, but i am so glad i had it done.

Thanks for your reply balermom and l'm so glad your feeling so happy aobut having it done l'm a little nervous.... I knew l had osteoarthrtitis l've had it for a few yrs. This pain was alot differen tl knew it was sometihng more ...but anyhow thankyou for your help
