    Saturday!

    Happy Saturday Ladies

Raining as predictable - not nearly as bad as they warned us they would be.
Wondering how my other southern sisters weathered last night? So glad that we didn't have t storms overnite. Now today is a different story but at least it is the time I am normally awake and not scared silly out of my deep sleep. Always wonder why women persist in getting their hair done on such a bad weather day. Oh well, money for gasoline and groceries.

What's shaking today? Jan, tell Gina I am thinking of her; ditto to Laura.
    Sewing mends the soul.

    Re: Saturday!

Morning everyone! I think we have a rainy day in store today. If not, I've got to get some gardens cleaned out before the new stuff starts popping. Aqua class then up the the hospital - he's maybe (emphasis on maybe) coming home today. I guess I better do some housework first - been on the run all week and the house is a mess.

Hope everyones' day is wonderful - rain where you need it and sun where you want it! Best wishes for all those dealign with health issues. Have a great day!

      Hi everyone!

After yesterday's winds here at the ranch it's nice and quiet. The sun's not up yet so am hoping it's clearer than yesterday. The air was yellowish and smelled of smoke, something that's scary in 'burn ban Texas' right now.

I am here alone so have a full day of quilting! I'm so excited! The house is clean, laundry's done so I have the day to myself. I am sooooooooo excited!

      Everyone have a wonderful day!

Good morning all. Its gonna be a chilly day today. Good thing I havent put all my winter wear away. Atleast its just for a few days. Then its back to the sun and fun. I have to get out my smmur wear and see what will work. Since I my to half is still under construction some of my tops wont fit. I really dont want to go get new stuff cause they are still under construction. I think I"ll just get one outfit that will just have to work for all my social activities. I have always wore baggy shirts and jeans even in the heat so Im good there. Well all gotta have a cup of joe and then it's off to the laundry! See ya all later;~)
Have a blessed day in HIS name!

twnkeyes, I'm jealous of your day of quilting (and I love your avatar pic of your pooches!)... Work here till 2, then my house really needs my attention. My daughter will be coming home from college for the weekend, so lots of chit chat and catching up with her in store, which I'm really looking forward to. Paula, you're so right, why spend the money on more than one outfit while you're in transition - how are you feeling?

Hope everyone who needs rain gets it. Rain in store for us today but that's fine by me, I love the rain, and it keeps NJ so green and pretty. I grew up in California and well remember burn bans, yellow and brown hills and mountains, and all that.

          Happy Weekend to all!

            Re: Saturday!

Good morning everyone. Today's agenda is to go to the arts and craft fair and then go on to the quilt store about 40 miles away.

Smoke was heavy in the air last night and you could see the red glow from the grass fires. Our volunteer firefighters have been out all week. They fought fire all day Thursday until 4:45am Friday morning and were called back out about 9:30am and were out all night again. One of my co-worker's husband is a volunteer firefighter. Our volunteers are awesome. God bless them and their families.

Saying prayers for all those in bad weather areas. One cousin was in the storm cellar due to tornadoes, another bailing water out of the basement in another state while my husband's uncle has blizzard conditions. This spring weather is crazy.

Well I'm off. Everyone stay safe !

                Re: Saturday!

Well hello!! Yet again as I try to do something outside for my daughters First Birthday, the weather WILL NOT cooperate! So, oh well, we will have a family movie night and eat way too much popcorn! We are expecting some bad storms here so I am told! I quit checking the weather so much, it is rarely what they predict any way!

I am stuck at work until 5 today anyway!! Hopefully tomorrow is a pretty day and we can throw something on the grill!

I hope to go home and start sewing my petals together that I have been cutting using my new Dresden ruler! annnnndd finish my daughters birthday quilt (how horrible would it be if it didnt get finished until her SECOND birthday!!) I am already behind!

Any ways, hope you all have a wonderful weekend! Someone try to get some sleep for me!!

Good afternoon everyone! It's raining and cold with the winds gusting at 60 miles an hour today. My bones are aching! lol We went on a shop hop yesterday. I only lasted for 3 stores but got some great projects. One shop had an Accuquilt and they did a pkg. of 6.5 tumbler blocks for a table size quilt. I bought one. And then my friends, Dawn, Sandy, and I ordered the 5" tumbler block by Natalie Dawn from MSQC. Can't wait to get it. In the meantime I can put this one together. Dawn bought the half hexi a couple of weeks ago from MSQC(where else?) and she had gotten one for me as a gift. So I found a jellyroll I liked. The shop hop was fun and we got to see our favorite people that work in the shops. So we had a good time. We got lost because of my TomTom GPS
unit. That was hilarious. We laughed out butts off. Some of the fabrics this year are gorgeous! And one of our shops had a great many Civil War prints. That was good to know about. We had fun. I needed fun. Hugs, Jan

                    Re: Saturday!

Blondie, my hair takes almost two hours, and during the spring and summer I hate to spend that long nailed down inside (unless I'm sewing, of course). So I'm one of your rainy day customers :-).

Apparently people hate to bank when it's raining; rain means a slow day.

                        Re: Saturday!

Not gonna tell you that our weather here is almost 50 and dry with some serious sun breaks.
I am prewashing the black fabric I bought yesterday. This is the third trip through the machine for it. It smells like road tar when wet. I kid you not! The last piece took three washings with extra rises before it tamed down. Doesn't smell that way when dry, but wheew! At first I though there was something wrong with the new washer! It smelled like a gasket was melting or something when I lifted the lid. Maybe that is the way they get the rich black color, who knows.
Picked up some tomato starts. Gonna pot them babies up and get them started even further in the window sill. Can't put them out until we keep above 50 degrees. I also found a Joseph's Coat climbing rose at the nursery today while we were poking about. Been wanting another one of those since we had to leave the last one when we moved. Now to get it planted too, since it's bare roots are hanging about on the front deck.
Making like a banana and gonna split for the outdoors!
                        Hugs! Cathy
