Where did Sunday go? Oh, it's Monday!

    Happy Monday morning all
Been up since before dark thirty. I barely remember yesterday except we spent all the live long day with my Mom and some company from out of state. Sorry that I missed y'all.
I have started Ms Gracie the chi chi on her official training. So far I can't get her to come to me but whenever she does come over my way I can actually get her to sit. She is learning to love the walking. Just need to get her acclimated to what that actually means as in, stay by my side and walk, not smell every urine deposit in the park/trail/yard. I must say it is excellent exercise. For me. Yay.
    Will check in later, gators.

    Good morning.
I thought I was the only one up early. Yesterday I worked with my new Janome and did wash as well. So far, I have one block done for the One Star quilts. Hopefully I'll get a couple more done. Blondie, my Bichon will smell each and every leaf, blade of grass, etc on his walks. Have a great day everyone.

I don't know how much experience you have training dogs. In case you have never trained one here's a bit of advice we gained from training our lab. We found a treat she absolutely adored. (Labs are chow hounds so any treat would do, actually.) We would give her a treat each time she was successful in obeying our command? After a few times she would quickly get the message that she'd receive a treat if she responded to our command. We taught her to heel by actually saying "heel" and kept her at our side with no slack on the leash? If she tried to pull away so she could sniff, we'd give a tug on her leash and a firm "NO." You're so wise to train her, Blondie. You'll enjoy her company so much more if she is well behaved. My husband did most of Rosie's training and because of it she was an absolute delight. I imagine there's a lot of training advice on-line and plenty of books if you haven't looked into it.

Yesterday I finished couple of blocks for the quilt for my quilting class, and then cut out the fabric to finish the rest. I'm impressed with the training efforts Blondie. I'm sure she'll be a quick learner, and hey, sniffing where every previous dog tinkled is fun apparently, or at least fur my dogs, too. I'm off to work today, but I feel more like sewing and playing with my babies, but I think I can get out early.

I hope everyone has a blessed day!

Re: Where did Sunday go? Oh, it's Monday!

Gooooood Monday everyone! The sun has just begun to rise recently and am enjoying a cup of coffee here with my friends. Do have to get ready for work though. Spent last night with my Dad - had a nice evening together. Today is DH and I anniversary - 24 years. Don't know whats on the agenda - no place to eat out here in town after the sidewalks roll up at 5 PM and neither of us likes to leave the area at night so guess I'll throw something good to eat in the oven for dinner. We are homebodies.
I came home from my dad's last night and saw Katie's dresser and 2 nightstands in the basement plus her bed leaned up against the wall in her bedroom. DH said he moved it for me to give me more quilting space. That was sweet of him and I won't have a fit about it but was really not liking the idea of her things being moved about. I know he was just trying to help thinking I didn't move it around cause it was heavy stuff. Well, like I said before it will be easy enough to move back when she comes home again so I am trying to not let it bother me. Can't look at the past - like Blondie sent me "Worrying does not take away tomorrow's troubles, it takes away today's peace". And "All things in life are temporary. If going well, enjoy it, they will not last forever. If going wrong, don't worry, they can't last long either". Positive thinking!
On that positive note - best get ready for work so I start the day out with a smile. Hope you are a blessing to somebody today.

          Hugs,

I figured that to keep Luscious happy I need to get her trained for basic obedience. He is impressed with her sit so far. (although he has yet to learn that if he says sit to her she expects a reward, hehehe) I have found some good videos on youtube and then the rest remember from the dregs of my memory from years ago training my doxies.
Gracie is heeling pretty good, sitting okay but still doesn't want to come to me yet unless she wants to. Baby steps Blondie, baby steps. She is worth it.

Re: Where did Sunday go? Oh, it's Monday!

Im looking for Saturday as well. lol. I cant complain it was a nice weekend. I spent most of yesterday with my mom and thats always a fun time. I also had a nice visit with a woman at church. Shes like a granny to me so its nice to visit with her. I just love visiting with her. She made me caps to wear, bless her heart. I had a visit with my older sissy. It sure was good to see her. I dont see her as much as my other sissy so it was fun.
Well my house got invade with teens and a baby last night. Whew, lol. It wore this chic out. I sure do miss them though. They had moved and so I dont see them like I did when the lived just few blocks away. The baby just changes so much every time I see her. I makes me miss my kiddos when they were that age.
I just dont wanna go to work today. I sure wish I could call in sick, but I cant. I have never been able to do that. Lord knows I have coworkers who have no problem doing that. Ok its time to suck it up and be a big girl and just go get ready for work. Have a great day all!!!!!!!!!!!!
Have a blessed day in HIS name!

Hi all. Looks like it's going to be a sunny but cold day here.
Trish - congrats on the anniversary. Have a lovely dinner with you DH.
Blondie - great job with the doggie training. I was never very good with that (lack of persistence) and thus my dogs were very "independent" although very loving.
Aqua aerobics then work for me today. Maybe a little sewing this afternoon.
                  Have a great day!
                  ;)Nancy

I got a sewing machine for my husband. Good trade, huh!?!

Good morning everyone. Happy Anniversary Trish. Hope you have a wonderful day.

Blondie, GOOD GRIEF for sure. Hope you don't get too much.

Well, yesterday we were at an auction sale and this lady and I were looking at the same quilt and making the appropriate comments. We started talking and we found out we are both on the same bus trip to the Cincinnati Quilt Show. And then to top it off, my husband knows her husband's cousins who have a cottage here in our little community. The world is certainly small. Looking forward to this trip. I leave on the 5th.

AND to top that off, we stopped at our niece's place and her husband puts on the basketball game. Well lo and behold, the coach of Virginia Commonwealth University looks like my oldest son's twin. Freaky! We get home and a friend of ours leaves a message and wants to know what my husband has been doing in Virginia cause he thought he was seeing my son as well. TOO FUNNY!! But not funny business. LOL!!

Not sure yet what this day brings. Tidying up and maybe some quilting.

                      Have a wonderful day everyone.

We were traveling by car in Scotland several years ago. We stopped at the side of the road to take pictures of a waterfall and got to talking with a gentleman there. It turns out that he had replaced my husband at his job when my husband resigned to take a position with another company. And that was halfway around the world.

                            Good Morning All,

Had a great weekend with my hubs and 2 of 3 kids. Planted my vegtable garden Saturday (I live in south Texas so it's not too early) and did some yard work. Sunday was church, sending my husband (Chris) off to Norway for the week and cooking supper for my daughter and son-in-law.

I got one quilt top finished last week and two more cut out. I've been quilting for a year and just love it! This website and connection to other quilters is wonderful. I've learned so much!

                            Everyone have a great week!

Hi everyone You all are so funny talking about training dogs. I'll stick with my Clown fish = (Nemo fish) They keep their messes contained in the aquarium. Has anyone watched M. S. show today? She showed pictures from the BIG quilt show in NY that is free to the public until the 30th of this month. I think showcasing 600 red/white quilts all different no two were alike. If only I lived in NY. My Hubby was born and raised in NY. That quilt show had a quilt that was made in 1800's they all were amazing! Take care..
