    It's Wednesday

    Hi Ladies
I tried and tried to get in yesterday with no success.

Cloudy here, I did get some sewing done yesterday; mostly still hand stitching.
I feel somewhat better. I called the dr's office to see what I should do next. Sigh.

Hope everyone else is doing well! I missed y'all.

Oh Blondie, I feel bad for you. Hope you get to 100% real soon. Hubby and I now have a cold, I guess we kissed our little granddaughter way too much last week. She had the non-stop bogger nose. LOL!

We took our other granddaughter to the wave pool yesterday. She had a blast. Today is a rest day. Have to get the taxes done. YUCK!!

    Happy hump day all!

Good morning everyone! I hope you all enjoy your days and start feeling better soon. Now I think my husband has pink eye. Ugh! I leave for a conference this weekend and he's got to watch the kids all weekend, so he better start feeling better soon!

        Hi all!
Blondie glad to hear you are on the mend. Hope Mom is as well!
Monique you can't help but kiss those little ones when you have them!
Momma your poor hubby! Pink eye is so contagious! Hope he is better before your trip.

I left work early yesterday but even tho the cold is not better and had moved to from my chest to my head, I do feel slightly better. Very tired but will hang in there today. Still no word from our owner. Geesh...so frustrating.
Nothing done on the homefront, no cleaning, no sewing, just sleeping. My body must need it. I am determined to feel better by the weekend. Monday night we have tickets to the Chicago Bulls basketball game and I can't wait! Must feel better before then!!

Hope everyone has a wonderful day and gets at least a few minutes of quilting time!
        Take care,

            Hello All!
I think I completely missed morning! I slept until 10AM! I am feeling better today. Still got a full snot locker, but the body wracking coughing seems to have stopped.
We should be well enough to go to pre-school today. I hate having to bail out on my days in class, and it is Emily's sharing day.

Patti, I am sorry your owner is still stringing you along.
Lin, If you can't get to the Dr. you can try the remedy we use on the livestock here. Buy the cheapest bottle of red wine you can find (really cheap), and put a couple drops in his eye 2-3 times a day. I know it sounds ucky, but it works. I haven't had pink eye myself so I don't know how fast it works on humans, but for the animals you see a huge improvement in 12 hours. It is less irritating than the medicines that the vet suggested for the treatment and worked faster.

I don't think there will be much sewing here today. I have to get things packed up for our trip to the beach tomorrow.

            You all take care!

Hope everyone is feeling much better soon! That wine trick sounds interesting (wish I had known that when I was teaching - always coming down with pink eye). I hope to work on some lunch sacks for my friends and one for my DGD out of Dr. Seuss material - hope Spring comes soon (the real one with flowers and sunshine!!)

Bright and sunny here-finally! I fussy cut some blocks for a baby quilt from a jungle baby fabric. I cringe when I do it 'cause I hate the waste but this fabric is perfect for it. I'm putting them in an attic window block. i think it will be cute when it's done.

Sorry to hear so many of you are still feeling bad. I think the long winter has taken it's toll on many of us.
There is an over-the-counter remedy available now for pink-eye. I don't remember the name but I've bought it for my DD's a couple times. Pink-eye is such a nasty thing!

Hi all, Blondie I hope the doc can help you, you have been sick far to long. You must have had the influenza. Not just a cold. The flu holds on longer. How's Mama? Hope you both feel better soon
Patti and Monique I hope you just have colds and nothing as serious as Blondie. And Patti I'm praying you boss comes through and makes things right.
Kathy I hope you feel better too. And the wine trick is interesting, it must be the alcohol in the wine that works and kills the pink eye. If I was your eye I'd enjoy that better than the yucky stuff the doc gives you for pink eye. LOL
Grandma I too am waiting for my Tulips to appear. My crocus is up so spring must be close by.
Well ladies love to all and prayers to keep everyone healthy. Hugs, Jan

                    Hi Ladies
Didn't do any sewing; but I DID sweep, mop and dust. How wonderful to be able to say this. LOL. I know it sounds as if I am sick to want to clean but in all honesty I haven't done more than dishes and some laundry since Daddy died in December. I am normally a decent housekeeper but I just didn't care. Poor Luscious. He has had a rough winter too. Thank goodness that Spring is coming.
I am off to actually cook some dinner for the first time in a while; then it is early bed. I am tuckered out but happy !

Lin, sorry about hubs. I would be willing to give Cathy's home remedy a try.

E - have made some sacks; been wanting to purchase oil cloth for future ones ~ wallet is a bit too thin to go for that !

Patti, hope you are feeling better too. This ridiculous junk from the owner does not help either! I don't know about in Chicago but here in my part of NC we would call him "sorry". I would be tempted to tell him it's time to either fish or cut bait. Bless his heart, he must have his hands full with more than your store there I am sure. Makes me wonder if he even realizes what y'all are going through.

Anyone hear from Jan? Praying she is healthy and safe up there in the great frozen but lovely upstate area.

Well, dinner won't cook itself, I will try to check in later.
                    and
~ seeing how I am no longer officially contagious ~ HUGS!!!!!!!

                      Re: It's Wednesday

Hi Blondie, I'm here and fine. Had a bad week of muscle spasms and they really cripple you up. Every time I moved I got one. It seems to be easier today. I'm doing laundry today and will do sheets and towels tomorrow. I split it in half so I didn't have a whole bunch to do. Last week I did it all and mopped and what have you and it did me in. Friday I will attempt the floors. But other than that I'm still kicking!!! Sometimes not so high. lol
I hope you get well and stay that way. I have been praying for you, Mama, and Larry to be well.
I read three books last week and already have one under my belt this week. I love to read.
Love you dearly and wishing you Luck, Laughter, and Love. Hugs, Jan

                        Re: It's Wednesday

Oh - there you are Blondie! I enjoyed listening to your music yesterday while I was sashaying through the house with the broom and wet mop. Prayers for your mom and Larry. Hope they are up and moving around soon.

Odie is home! L))))))))) He got medical leave for his hernia operation and is home until Tuesday afternoon. Too bad for me that I am leaving for my 4 day trip to Lancaster with all my girlfriends, but he says to go ahead and go since we have tonight, Sunday and Monday night before he leaves. He will be busy with his friends and brother while he is home. And, sleeping in. Says lights out is at 10 PM and then they are up at 4:30 AM. Not much sleep for these Marines, no sirree! So, he went food shopping with me - throwing stuff in the cart here and there and he is getting lasagne for dinner tonight. I have been hugging on him and just standing looking at him. It was funny this morning cause I didn't know he was coming home. I went downstairs to leave out the basement door for work like I usually do, hit his wall to his bedroom like I usually do and said "Hey Odie!" This time I got an answer back! "Hey mom!" I about died! He also said that he and David (son #1) will go to my Dad's on Friday night (when Dad turns 85) and have dinner with him since none of us daughters can be there with him. Isn't that something? I am so proud of my boys.

Well, won't be on until Sunday night sometime but I will be missing you all and thinking of you. Don't have too much fun here without me. I'll have lots of catching up to do.

                        Hugs,

                          Hi Ladies
Just before I hit the bed, I wanted to peek in. Dinner was nice and easy - a chickie casserole with peas on the side. #1 way to keep The Man happy? Chicken of any kind and canned green peas (yuck - exorcist anyone? another yuck).
Jan, so good to see you! We must have been typing the same time. Sorry about those spasms. I can't imagine the pain. What I have had at least is leaving me, you dear girl, have to live and try to figure out ways to adjust to this daily. Hugs to you. I also love to read and hubs was surprised I didn't devour books the past few weeks. I was too sick to read. Now that is a new one for me. I just couldn't focus and didn't even look through my quilty mags that I adore. I did pick up a new book for me at a Thrift a few weeks back that I hope to start soon. The Thirteenth Tale (I think) Looked interesting.
Trish, I am so glad that you at least get to fix your peepers on Odie for even a short while. Wish I could be going to Lancaster with you. I wonder if you can take pictures to share with us??? Glad we like the same music, hehehe. I can't find all the songs I like on the playlist media but heckfire, it's enough to keep me happy.

I did call the Dr's office this morning. He called me back and said if I was still finishing up the anti-b's finish them all and if after two days I didn't feel better to come in. It is incredible to me that after about 11 a.m. this morning I felt GREAT! I mean like I said earlier to CLEAN?!?!?! Yay. Just took the med and have one more. My voice is still kinda squeaky and my left ear a little punchy but I will do what he says. At 75.00 a visit I really don't want to go back.
I do know several folks that had to have two and three doses - whatever this has been it starts out viral and goes bacterial I think. Ladies, we take our good health for granted until we get down!

I still didn't get to sew but hope to this weekend. Need to do a few blocks for another swap I am in. I almost forgot about it! Duh uh! I am telling you, that video with the chick singing to Memories is SO DANG TRUE.

Blessings to all. You're the bestest of the quilting world. And that's the truth.
