    Sunny Sunday?

    Ahhhhhggggg.jpg

What is happening to our weather. We have winter weather alerts in effect until tomorrow noon. So the picture above just reflects how I am feeling about this!!

Going to the nursing home for the community luncheon and to visit with Mom today. The nursing home furnishes the main meal selection and this month it is corned beef hash. I have a huge pot of potatoes and cabbage cooking with spices and the aroma is making me hungry. Hubby just asked me if the aroma would make him lose weight if he didn't eat any . . . funny man.

Guess quite a few people forgot to set their clocks forward. Our automatic clock - in our bedroom - is so confused about DST because the powers that be keep changing when to go on daylight savings time. I for one really like the extra time in the evenings.

Hope everyone has a wonderful day and just because you haven't checked in here as yet doesn't mean that you are not up to par. May everyone have a light heart and SUNSHINE!!!!

Good afternoon everyone! The sun is trying to peek out today - hope it shines itself sometime. It's good for the soul.
Off to a baby shower this afternoon - haven't been to one of those in years. I actually have a baby quilt all made up and ready to go. That's a first.
Then off to Dad's. Think I'll pick up a birthday cake - an ice cream one - he'll be 85 on Friday.

Hope you have a sunny day!

    Hugs,

It's cloudy and cold here. Had planned to get up in time for church but slept right thru (I did have my clocks changed though). Had a great time with friends and family for DD's birthday last night. Another one (almost) launched on the world.

Good Sunday to all. I am hanging my head in shame since I didn't go to church this morning. I am NOT a morning person and I knew when I went to bed last night that I just was not going to make it this morning. Actually I intended to make church, but not Sunday School but I missed both. <sigh>

The weather here is very confused. It snowed during the night but it is supposed to get up to almost 50 this afternoon. I think the rest of the week is supposed to be fairly decent which is great because we have a road trip planned for Wednesday. I have to get a scratched lens replaced in my glasses and some other shopping of course. In the meantime though, we also have MUD. We built a new garage last summer, but didn't yet get the concrete poured for the driveway, so some of the time we can't even get in/out of the beautiful garage. This will remedied with warm weather.

Today I'm going to continue to work on some unfinished projects as well as some planning for my Hobo quilt. I bought a bag full of cotton shirts at the mission store yesterday for bag day. I'm going to be using the shirts for some of the blocks. My BFF is also making the Hobo quilt, so will spend a day with her cutting and chatting and spending time together.

No sun here. Just more rain.
Now I am sick, and so is Em. The perspective of a 5 year old is pretty funny. She figures if you take the medicine then you should feel better right NOW, and for a long time. How I wish it was so. I am hoping that this passes quickly. I don't want to be sick for our mini-vacation. If it's not better by Monday afternoon I'm making us appointments for Tuesday with the Dr.

I'm going to go put on our corned beef brisket and then get to work on some more blocks for the wedding quilt. Perhaps there is a nap in my future too.

I hope everybody is having a good day and getting some stuff done.

Well I have been sprung from the hospital, yahoo. I had an issue with my white bloods cells being at a dangerous level so in the hospital I had to go. They are starting to climb back up so they let me come home. I still cant eat fresh veggies or fruit. I was so disapointed cause Im a huge fruit and veggie girl. I can have all the can stuff but no fresh. But I understand why so I will just have to pull up the big girl panties and deal with it.
Im so ready to get my sewing on. Ive got some potholders to get done so thats forst on my list this week. Ive never made them but hey how hard can they be. I probably just jinxed myself. We shall see.
I hope Blondie and Jan are doing ok. I havent seen the here lately.
Take care all and have a fun filled sewing day!!!

Paula, so glad you're out of the hospital! How are you feeling, besides fruit-less? Cathy, sorry you and your daughter are sick :-(.

Hope everyone has a fun, productive, happy Sunday!

Hi all! Just a quick note cuz I have a terrible chest cold and feel so zapped! BF bought me an I Phone yesterday against my wishes but we needed new phones and he wanted to get me the best. I admit that I do love it! What a sweetie! He is off too a little party at a restaurant that he just helped to build and they are making all the dishes on the menu for practice and inviting all the people who worked so hard the last few months getting it ready to open this Tuesday. Although the idea of the food sounds real good, no way and I spreading these germs around! No sewing today either, just too tired to even think about it. Just napping on and off!
Take care and enjoy what's left of your day. At least it is now lighter later in the evening!

I'm sorry I laughed at this Paula, but I laughed from having experienced the frustration first hand. The thing that got to me was 'NO smallgoods' so no ham or other cured meats...I loved toasted ham and cheese sandwiches. I thought they were being particularly cruel with that one but as you say there is good reason for it. They dumped me in hospital once during my chemo because my temperature soared sky high and they worried about infection, I felt fine when the temp came down but they kept me in isolation for three days just to be safe, so annoying.

Yes Lynn I thought the same. How cruel of them. Everytime I orderd a meal it seemed as though the fresh fruit platter was in huge bold print. But I am lucky I was just in from Friday until this afternoon.
Deb Im doing good, Thanks. I do feel so much better. I dont feel as run down.
Cathy feel better soon, along with your daughter. You too Patti! I think this nasty cold/flu bug has ran ramped throughout the states along with the freaky snowy winter.
Patti you will love your new phone. I got a new Iphone also. It took a few to get use to the change, but once I did I love it.
