Middle of Feb, and it's FRIDAY

    Hey Ladies
Friday morning and it's gonna be a spectacular weekend to be outside.

Sandy, my Dad said that tonic water helped him. He also took quinine pills at one time. I don't know if those are still available. Hubs says bananas help him. Sounds like a potassium thing to me.

Cathy, sounds like that aardvark is turning out great. I really didn't want to read of more snow. Hoping it stops before it hits us.

Lin, hope you got enough hay up. Blessings to those who help others in need.

Monique, call me crazy but I don't blame hubs for not finishing the roof shoveling. What a scary job!

Elaine, LOVE the moda bakeshop. Like some others, I drool and dream about making things but they go in the pile in my brain that says someday. Perhaps soon!

Jan, I would love to have you help with Mom! She is the best patient in the world until she gets her energy back. Then watch out world; little Ruthie goes like a bat out of you know where. Used to drive my Daddy batty, lol. You know I appreciate your love and prayers.

Ladies, it is Friday which means another long one. I think Mom will cook dinner tonite - last evening Luscious ate at Mom's and I had a PBJ. Tasted great. Hubs said she planned on having pepper steak tonite. yum. She does love to spoil that man of mine.

Okay, gonna jump in the shower and gear up for my dear oldsters. It's a full moon so who knows what craziness I will be experiencing with them today. It's always fun, fun, fun. And yes, many want a trim during the full moon because they believe it makes their hair thicker.
    Have a good one.
    Sewing mends the soul.

Re: Middle of Feb, and it's FRIDAY

Seems like you and me are the early birds here Blondie.
Glad you got some answers to your questions about your mom's surgery. She's in my prayers too.

Another Friday for me too! How about that!
The kiddos get out at 1 today, but I stay until 3. It's still a good time to get out of work, I say.

Oh. Decided I needed to do a little organizing. So I started with the 4 plastic containers down the hall.
#1 was empty. #2 has a Squishy swap in it from Alex's old board- completed blocks that are already laid out in rows that need sewn together. #3 has a Symbol Block swap in it from Alex's old board - completed blocks ready to lay out for a quilt. And here's the good one -
    #4 has: 104 - 6" squares with a Christmas theme
    100 - 6" squares with a Celestial theme
    144 - 6" squares with a Patriotic theme
    104 - 5" squares with a Summer theme
    72 - 10" squares with a Snowman theme.
Think I have enough precuts? And that's not even all my precuts. Think I'll tackle the basement this weekend just for fun and to get my list updated. Doesn't look like I'll need to buy a bunch of stuff at the upcoming Lancaster Quilt Show in a month. I could sure get lots of quilts made with the stuff I already have which I already knew.

Well, better get ready for school today. It's always interesting to see what's happening there whether it's the kiddos or the faculty. It would be nice to have these grownups that are the faculty grow up someday.

I'll check in later. What do you have in your stash that you forgot about?

    Hugs,

Well gals its TGIF. Its been a long week Im so ready for the weekend. I have to think positive! I'm doing the mental thing today. I have another treatment today so I have to get my mind in it as much as I can. Chicken noodle soup will be my best buddy for a few days. I would rather have the yummy pepper steak instead, lol.
Have a great day all and enjoy the sunshine, yahoo!!!!

It's Friday and I am a little sore. I got a blister on the palm of my hand from shovelling the roof, but it got done, then last night I fell down the last 3 stairs and slid on my fat hiney and now have a rug burn on my elbow and back is a little stiff. But otherwise I am ok. I got to play with my granddaughter through the webcam. She now holds her head with both hands when I say "OH DEAR" and I had her singing. Ah what fun she is. Here is a picture of us playing.

Happy quilting and everyone have a wonderful weekend.

Good morning all! Today is the first day of my five day weekend, and I'm going to TRY to be industrious and get some cleaning done, plus lots of sewing.

Blondie, I'm so glad you got some answers that make sense about your Mom. Trish, sounds like you've got most of a quilt store tucked away in your stash! How fun to discover fabric that's already paid for! Monique, I loved your pic of you and your granddaughter playing over the computer.

Wishing everyone a great Friday and hoping for warm weather for everyone - supposed to be in the low to mid 60s today, hooray, sure doesn't feel like February!

More than I would like to admit!! I made a comment the other day about needing to get busy and sew instead of looking for more projects and adding to my stash. Smack my hands and shut down that roaming mind of mine.

Monique, I'm feeling your aches and pains and send lots of healing thoughts your way. So sliding down stairs is an acceptable excuse for rug burns on your back?

Blondie - I wasn't aware that cutting your hair during a full moon would make it grow thicker. A friend sent me a message yesterday claiming that if you left a cut onion out it would absorb all the viruses and bacteria in the air and keep you healthy. I, on the other hand, try to find other ridiculous things to blame on a full moon . . . like why there's strange hairs growing on my chin, why I feel like 'baying' at the moon . . .

Middlesis - sure hope your treatment goes well and you don't need the chicken noodle soup - although that does sound really good to me now. Prayers are being sent your way.

To everyone, have a wonderful TGIF and hope your have a relaxing weekend planned. I'm off to the sewing room . . . as soon as I . . . oh, did I just see an aardvark pass by . . .

I remember taking quinine when I was a kid - cocoaquinine - not sure how it was spelled - but it sure tasted good. I don't know why we took it though. I also spent a ghastly time taking Hadacol - an iron-type liquid that tasted horrible!! I really think the potassium is an issue - but I am deathly allergic to bananas so can't get it there. I do take multi-mega minerals and may have to up my dosage for a while. Either that or load up on the G&Ts. Let's see, baked potatoes - potassium - check (if I could leave off the butter and sour cream . . .

Monique, I just love the pictures of you and your grand daughter. What fun! And Sandy, I have a girlfriend at work who keeps and onion on her desk all winter long. Seems to work for her. Have a great Friday everyone and a great week-end. I love the daily deal for today.

Sandy try kiwi. I was told they are loaded with potassium. Even more then a banana. Just cut them in half and scoop out the yummy goodness with a spoon, yummy. Oh all this talk about kiwis makes me want some, lol. I will put that on the list.

                    Good morning everyone.
I am stuck here at work and it's supposed to hit 70 here today. But, I am going to sneak out early. Tonight is my quilt guild meeting. We are having a speaker but I can't remember the topic. I also have to deliver a bag full of "pit" pillows. They are given to women who have breast cancer. If they had lymph nodes removed it's hard ofr them to put there arms down. So these make it comfortable until they heal. Last month we were stuffing them and stitching them closed. But ran out of stuffing. Hope everyone has a great day

Good Friday morning...coffee is just finished dripping and the house smells yummy. I love the smell of fresh coffee in a the morning. Right up there with fresh bread! I am doing the happy dance today as i have the day off! Things change quickly at work and it went from crazy to super quiet today so I asked my boss for the day and got it! Yeah. Off to the big city today with my hubby to renew his passport.
Working on a quilt right now using vintage 30/40's material. Bright cheery colors. THen I am going to finish up a rag quilt for my Aunty. She is in hospital and it had been touch and go with her a few times but she seems to be on the mend and Mom asked me if i could make her a rag lap quilt. Luckily I have one almost made so I can get it to her soon.
Paula my prayers are with you. My mom has a saying..."keep your pecker up". Noooo not that! It means keep you nose and head up , keep positive!
Have a great day everyone. BIG HUGS!!!!

TGIF!! Yes sireee......so happy it is Friday!
Blondie - I have lots and lots of hair but it's thin. Never heard of the full moon thing but will try it! BF complains about my loose hairs all over the bathroom now, wouldn't want to make it worse!
Trish - I started re-building my stash about a year ago and it is amazing how quickly it has grown!
Paula - Good luck with the treatment! Chix soup sounds good to me too!
Monique- Oopsy on your fall. A gal I worked with used to think anyone falling was the funniest thing and would just get hysterical, I am the opposite! I can't even watch Funniest Home Videos on tv without wincing for the poor people who have things happen that look like they hurt! Hope you aren't aching too much! Your GD is adorable!
Deb - 5 day weekend!! You lucky duck!
Sandy - Never heard of the stuff you had to drink as a kid! Hope you have a good day of sewing!
Suzette - Have fun at your Quilt Quild meeting. I think your "pit pillows" sound like such a nice thing to do. Do they share the pattern?
Shauna - Love your Mom's saying! Don't think I will be sharing it with anyone soon tho...LOL. Love to see pics of your vintage 30/40's quilt when you get pics!
Well, back to work....gotta head to the PO when I go to the bank for work so I can mail my swap blocks to Suzi!

Helloooooo everybody! What a gorgeous day out today. Can you hear the excitement in my voice? Well, today is my LAST day at the old job, then the weekend off, and start my NEW job on Monday! Mixed emotions, will miss alot of my co-workers, but this change is really the best for my family and myself in the long run. Really kicking myself for staying an extra day though, could have had a 3 day weekend! What was I thinking!!??
Paula, my thoughts and prayers are with you today.
The bump down the steps sounds painful, hope things get better quickly.
Need to get some chores done before I head out to work.
I hope everybody has a great day.

Suzette what a wonderful idea. Ok ladies I am a cancer survivor and I remember when they took out lymph nodes I went around the house with a regular pillow under my arm for a month. Masectomy was nothing compared to that. I belong to a group who make lap quilts for cancer patients.
