    It's Thursday!

    Terrific Thursday to everyone!
All the sunshine and brisk breezes make me have spring fever! I know we still have weather ahead of us, so for now, I will just think of springing into spring.

Jan, glad that you are no longer a weather barometer. I have had issues getting in here as well but so far last night and this morning have gone well, fingers crossed.

Have a long and full day at the salon. I like my Thursdays short and sweet; last one today at 4. I will be draggin' my wagon like it's a Friday! Mom's surgery for her gall bladder has been set up for March 8; I need to call the Dr's office because she received a call yesterday with the time, etc. They have her set up as outpatient and that will not work. I wish they had called me as they said they would. Now for the hair pulling.

Hoping that everyone has a wonderful day; keep smiling and don't forget to look up.

Sorry Blondie, dealing with parents and medical anything is no fun, especially when medical providers don't listen and don't call you directly.

I have to go for a short car trip to look at a horse for our therapeutic riding center. Let's hope he's the one. One of my employees was in a car crash yesterday and is sore and banged up, another has surgery an can't work for two weeks and I've got to find a hy supplier in the middle of winter cause we ended up with more horses this year than we expected so God, please help me get through the next few weeks!

    God bless everyone!

Blondie - gall bladder surgery as an outpatient? Never heard of that AND on an elderly person at that? You get on them girl!

Oh - my - does sound like a few busy weeks ahead for you with the horses and co-worker challenges.

Another nice day here and I guess I should get off my fanny and get some lunch made for me and hubby. They called him in to sub for 2 weeks straight with the Life Skills kids. Yeah - can get another bill or two paid. That will come in handy to pay the furnace repair bill.

Well, you all have a super day. I need to get on that sewing machine tonight. I'm feeling the loss of no stitchin'.

        Good Morning Chit-Chat Gals!!

Blondie - give them the dickens (or something stronger). DD and I were talking just yesterday how medical personnel must be trained to treat everyone else as stupid. Hope your feet aren't too tired from being on them all day.

Onetiredmomma - no wonder you are tired. Chasing down hay and horses all day long. I'd be too tired to stitch.

Trish - Hope you fixed a wonderful lunch - and we're all happy that DH is getting some extra work. Every bit helps.

I got up too early this morning - I was having cramps in my legs and couldn't fall back to sleep. Then I have to have a cuppa on an empty stomach. Think I'll go back to bed!!

To everyone who has yet to check in today: Have a GREAT day! Enjoy the warm breezes, and get some sewing done!!

Good morning all. We are supposed to be getting rain this afternoon. Yes indeed I said rain. My back roof needs shovelling, hubby only did part of it. So I guess that's what I will be doing today. I would like to get some quilting done maybe later if I am not too sore.

          Have a wonderful day everyone.

              Hi all!
It was such a pleasure to leave for work with the air not freezing cold. I can see a storm brewing for next week but I'm just going to enjoy this while it lasts. We are on the downside of February so I am optimistic!
I hear ya Blondie, my old bones are sure aching some days. Hope you set things straight for Mom's surgery.
Glad Odie got his package Trish. I am sure he was so excited to open it and get all the "love" packed inside.
Jan I find that that older I get the more cautious I am when I pick something up or just move quickly in general. Seems like it is so easy to re-injure anything I have ever injured before. Glad you are having relief and a quick recovery if necessary!
Sandy I get those pesky leg cramps too. Have to jump up out of bed quickly. BF always tells me I need to drink more water for them but then I am jumping out of bed anyway to tinkle twice a night! Just can't win!
Elaine that purse is adorable! I love the Moda Bake Shop and check it out often. They have a gazillion things I want to make!
Didn't get to sew at all last night cuz BF could not do what he had planned and when I brought down some jeans to cut for my next rag quilt project, he didn't want the light on. I am beginning to believe he is thinking of my quilting as his competion in the evenings!
Well, off to finish my shredded wheat before it gets too soggy!
              Take care quilty buddies!

                    Re: It's Thursday!

Blondie: They may have her admitting through the outpatient department. That is what they did with me, I think. It's been a few years, and the pain drugs for that one were good. (I can see how you could get addicted to that stuff.) I was scheduled to stay overnight, but was admitted through the outpatient clinic. Then they wheeled me through the maze of tunnels and halls into the main hospital. I ended up staying a few days, even with the lapriscopy method of gall bladder removal. I'd double check though, just to be sure.
Sandy: Take a nap for me!
Trish: Yea for work! Makes you breathe a bit easier doesn't it?
Onetiredmomma: Good luck on the hay hunt. I got lucky and found some for our girls. We had a bad end to the summer and our supplier lost the second cutting so we were 300 bales short to start with. I feel your anxiety on that one.
Elaine: I too like to look at the projects in the Bakeshop. I just never get around to making them!
Patti: Glad to hear that you are getting a break in the weather! Sorry that your BF is feeling threatened by your fabric! If I can think up a snappy come back for you I'll let you know. They never show up when I need them, always 10 minutes late!

Our clear weather didn't last. It is cold and trying to snow now. Right now we are just getting rain, but the weather guy says that can change off and on all day. I need to go throw hay at the animals and get ready for the Thursday speech therapy marathon.

I have Em's aardvark nearly done. I just have to finish stitching the belly closed while she is at school today. She will be happy to open it on her birthday. Ugh, which reminds me, people are coming over for that. I've got to finish cleaning the house too. I'd much rather sew! I have caught up on most of the laundry, except for the throw rugs in the kitchen, and those will wait until Saturday evening. Now to the dusting and vacuuming. While she is at school today I'll also be purging more of her toy box and book shelf. I worked on the anteater yesterday instead of the toys.
You all have a great day and I'll check in later!

You cracked me up Sandy!! lol I know what you mean. Why do you think I studied so hard. I know more than they think I do. The patient still knows his/her body better than anyone else does. My Doctor is cool though. He likes that Joe and I are advocates for ourselves and others.
As far as Your Mom Blondie, They are not thinking about her other medical problems and her age. Keep on them. It's sometimes not the hospital but the insurance. They have hospitals at a disadvantage so they are always looking for ways to make cuts in the after care. Pardon the pun.
And yes Trish, they do the shorter surgery if they can get away with it. But seeing as Blondie's Mom has a major medical problem and her age they have to know she will need more aftercare. I had the laperscopic (spelled wrong) one done and it still hurts like h**l and she is going to need help there or at home either way. As my DH says they are still stirring up the demons when they operate that way and maybe the recoup time frame is shorter but those first 36 hours are hard on you. I wish I could be there for you Blondie, I'd take care of Mama while you worked.
                      Love you all, Jan

Good afternoon all! Managed to escape work unscathed and am ignoring chores while I enjoy a cup of tea with you all, and then I'm going to work on my wildflowers iv table runner. what fun that fabric is! I cut some of the charms for dresdens and am using the rest in a tablerunner from a written msqc tutorial lola reminded me of. She made a runner and it looks great, so I'm going to try with my wildflowers.

The big news is that it's 63 degrees here! I've got windows open and Spike and I are enjoying the sound of the birds.

Hope everyone has a great day, good luck dealing with Mom's situation, Blondie. Thank goodness you're there to help her and keep everyone in line!

That wildflowers IV is gorgeous! Did you see the yardage for the new wildflowers for summer?? All I can say is WOW and I wish I was rich so I could buy some. I could see a fussy cut quilt out of that. I think it's even prettier than the IV one. It's under new products and it's yardage. I hope they get it in charms and layer cakes.
Anyway if your working with the wildflowers IV it should be a fantastic quilt! Enjoy

                              Good evening Ladies,
After this totally swamped day - yes, it is 7 pm and I am just getting - and this spring life weather we have been experiencing, I am definitely dreaming of a warm beachfront getaway.

Ladies, I did speak with the dr's office and told them what the Doc had expressed to me on the phone last week and at his office the previous week. If done, lapros. he is looking at a 3 day stay. If he can't do lapro. but has to do traditional, we are looking at 5 to 7 days minimum.
Because my Mom is a cancer patient and has experienced MERSA and sepsis more than once and has no spleen, she has no immunization. Zilch. so this is why any surgery for her is major. I had my gall bladder out this past March as a emergency procedure. I was just this side of grangreous. Who knew? LOL. I knew it was "hot" after researching my mysterious ailments. And since my DD works at the hospital and made me promise to go if I had another "attack", I called her and asked who was on duty in the ER. I know them all every well after the past several years with the folks. I wanted to be sure it was someone I hadn't fussed at! hehehe. At that point of my pain, it really didn't matter - I would've confessed to Nazi crimes. Mom isn't to that point. But her GB is diseased and starting to give her a tug. They want to fend off an emergency situation which they feel would be disastrous. Getting over my surgery was a breeze (and I was home like 3 hours after surgery) but I am generally healthy as the proverbial horser Whew. that above paragraph was a mouthful. More than you ever wanted to know I am sure.
Anyway, said all that to tell you that she is being admitted to the day hospital and then be transferred - the main hospital is eat up with flu and they are trying to contain all susceptible folks like my Mom. Geesh. They still could've called ME like they were supposed to and not scare the snot out of me and Mom with this day surgery junkola.

Okay, ladies I am waving my good nites. I am too pooped to pop. Long day, some extra cash I wasn't expecting due to some walk ins. Yay. I might be able to buy fuel for my vehicle this weekend. Hmmm. groceries or gas. What a choice.

Sleep tight, don't let the bed bugs bite.
