    Spring-like Sunday

    Good Morning Ladies
Sorry that I didn't get back in yesterday afternoon or evening. I had a full day between work and then going out with Mom. We had a terrific time and found some goodies.
At Hobby Lobby I found some small jewelry things that my Sis had been looking for. But my thrill buy of the day came from the Goodwill where I found a few books on quilting and one on herbs. YAY for me. Luscious makes a great driver for we Daisies. We ate lunch/dinner at a buffet and came home exhausted from all the shopping we did.
Mom is raring to go again. LOL.
I need a new big ruler - mine has cracked in half. It isn't an omnigrid but another one that I've had since hector was a pup. I need to do a search for one and hopefully find one for under 30 bucks. I can't believe how expensive a piece of plastic is! Oh, I did get the super duper deal on our Natalie's tumbler template! It arrived yesterday along with some charms and another template, triangles. Yay for me.
Off to see what everyone else is up to. Big huggles to all my quilty friends.
    Sewing mends the soul.

    Re: Spring-like Sunday

Your day yesterday sounds wonderful - wish I could have tagged along. Goodwill is one of my favorite places to go.

Not much going on here today. It's a Sunday, that's how it should be. Will go to church and then off to Dad's later today. No sewing for me yesterday - got the wash caught up and scrubbed the iron out of one of the tubs. Just can't keep up with those tubs no matter what I use on them. The SOS pads do work pretty good though.

Talked to Odie last night. Still bored waiting for his classes to start and hopefully he'll get his big box of stuff from here to make time pass more quickly. He is not sick anymore, thanking God!

Waiting for the warm up to hit this week - and since it's the middle of February, need to check out the pussy willows to see if their little buds are starting up. I always bring some inside to enjoy. You know, if you cut some off and put the branches in a jar without water, the little fuzzies on the end stay all nice and soft forever. I always get a fresh batch every year.

Hope you all have a great day - I'll check in later to see what everyone is up to today.

    Hugs,

Good morning! Envying you your Spring-like Sunday, Blondie. Dreary and wintery here in NJ, but I've got a full day of cleaning, grocery shopping and laundry to do, so the weather doesn't really matter I guess!

Mike surprised me last night with my Valentine's gift early - he couldn't wait, what a sweetie! It's a Singer 99k, and I'm already hoping Sandy will help me tame it :-). We saw it at the Sewing Machine repair guy's shop, and Mike fell in love with it. I fell in love with the Featherweight they had, but that was NOT in the budget, LOL. I'm looking forward hopefully to the 99 working and being part of my sewing. Now that I have three machines Mike says that counts as a "collection" LOL. I told him only if they all work!

Wishing I could be sewing today. Maybe if I hustle my bustle I can find time this afternoon. Have a wonderful Sunday, all!

Good morning all! It's a beautiful day here too, Blondie. Headed to springlike and the icicles are dripping, hopefully all of the ice on the sidewalk will melt, because it's too heavy to shovel off.
It's my work weekend, so not much sewing going on, but I did get the 3rd panel of the friendship braid quilt done yesterday, so just 1 panel to go. I am using the whole jellyroll and it's going to be a big quilt, bigger than I thought it was going to be! With borders and sashing, it will just about be for a full size bed, wow.
Trish, so glad Odie is better and when his boredom ends he may wish for a bit of it back!
Debi, what a wonderful gift your Mike gave you. I say you have to sew today, to try out your new baby.
Blondie, so nice that you had such a great day out with your Mom and Luscious, and that she's ready to go again. I hear you on the long rulers, I think I have worn down the side of mine so that it
bows in a bit.......that has to be the reason for some less than stellar cuts....
        doesn't it???
Well, gonna get a bit of something done before work. Only 3 more working days at my old job, then start the new one next week. I got my locker cleaned out last night, now to write down how to order supplies for the person that will inherit that job.

Truly a spring like day here too! Sun is shining and last night it stayed above freezing with at times some very strong melting winds.
I too love the goodwill stores. I went Friday to one here and got about 3 yards of material in bright colors that I can use for finishing the lastest block exchange quilt for under $3.00
May go ice fishing in the afternoon. I know I have some housekeeping to do later as we have company coming after supper. Well off to enjoy this beautiful Lord's day.

It is so beautiful today - sun is shining and the warmth feels so good! Hope everybody has a good day whether you are quilting (yeah) or finishing up housework (is there such a thing as "finishing" housework?). My stomach has been acting up so I plan on staying close to my sewing machine.
Quilting Trish - glad you heard from Odie. Blondie, I love our ARC thrift stores - you can always find the neatest things!

Afternoon all! Its a nice springlike day here as well. I went outside this am to warm my car up for church. Well I went outside without a coat. Well I stepped out anyway and was I surprised at how warm it was. Bring it on. I just hope and pray that this is the begining of the end, but I need to face reality.
Blondie I'm so glad you had a good time with your mom. Also good to see she had a good time as well.
Lola goodluck with the new job this week.
Deb congrats on the new machine. Im looking forward to some pics of the new baby, lol.
Well all have a sun filled day!

Here you go, Paula :-). I haven't cleaned her yet but she still looks pretty. Sandy helped me find a manual for her online (free! downloadable!) and I got enough chores done to justify some playtime with her. I don't have the right oil for her, so I'm not going to run her much. I'll wipe her down and try to get her threaded.

                  Hi all!
Just got back from Florida this afternoon and the sunny and 47 degree weather was a nice welcome! We grabbed a fast food burger, unloaded the car and relaxed as I opened all the mail. I am off to unpack and do some laundry!
Feels so great to be home!

Very pretty Deb, I hope she sews pretty as well, I'm sure she will.

It's good to hear that spring has maybe sprung for you girls, it will be most welcome I'm sure.

Trish, tell Odie bored is better than sick, I find that young people seem to get bored mush easier than I did when young, there always seemed to be something to do. Of course for Odie I suppose he is stuck at a base and doesn't have a lot of freedom to do things.

Blondie shopping with your Mom just has to be the best way to spend a day, I'm so happy for you both.

                      Good evening, Ladies
Pleasant day for all of us it seems. I did walk around the property, picking up some errant sticks for the stove and admiring the sunny blue sky! As I sat under the big oak, I was enthralled by a hawk gliding overhead. He must have a nest nearby as we have noticed him between the folks and we'uns. How wonderful to be able to glide freely like that.

Deb, you lucky rascal! I haven some old machines that I know nothing of. You gals are making me curious to see if mine are even usuable. Go Sandy, the queen of vintage machines.

Patti, know you are glad to be back home. It's so much fun to get away, almost as much fun sleeping in your own bed again.

Trish, sure that y'all are happy that Odie is no longer speaking of getting out. How is our Katie these days? Still in the exalted position of knowing everything? As I've said before, glad that mine are no longer teens.

Shauna, that sounds like a great haul on the fabric from your Goodwill. Here in the town I live in, I get better deals at the Salvation Army. Our GW is overpriced pretty much. But in other towns I can find great deals at the GW and very little at the SA. Hmmm.

Not any sewing done today. Just a chillin' kind of day. Mom's fine as a frog's hair and that makes me even finer. I may sew a bit on a block for a friend in a little while. Or I may look through my purchased books from yesterday. I am intriqued by the herbal one.

                      Enjoy your evening, ladies.
