    Superbowl Sunday!

Good Morning! I wish I knew how to add the pictures like Blondie does!

I am excited that it is Superbowl Sunday because it is the last game of the season and I get my husband back!!!! Finally, some I will get some help with the work around here!

I did get the entire day to sew yesterday, and he did the dishes! I am grateful. I saw the posts on the D9P and just had to try it. I won 2 charm square packs and a jelly roll from Crafty Gemini and Jojo's Quilt Shop last summer, and decided to use these for the quilt top. I can't believe how easy and fun this was! I finished the top all in one day! I will post a pic a little later.

Sandy- I am sorry to hear about your MIL, she and your family is in our prayers

Trish- Can't Odie just take himself to an urgent care center? I am praying that he is better soon!

We are off to my in-laws to watch the game today, and I have to get busy cooking chicken wings.

    Have a blessed day everyone!!

    Good morning everyone!

Well, broken furnace today - was hoping the sun would come out and melt the ice on the driveway (so the furnace guy can get here) but it's not happening so we have to bundle up and get the shovel out. Have I mentioned I am ready for Spring? Once that's done, I want to sew to warm up my fingers. They are a tad chilly since it's only 65 in here. Of course, if the furnace isn't working, then maybe neither is the part where it tells you how cold it is in here.

They found Odie's luggage so if he's not better by Monday, he'll go in to see the doctor. Now that he's on post, he can't get off post for an urgent care. He did say the coughing has eased up a little, but am waiting to hear how the Vicks Vapor Rub did for him that he was supposed to try last night.

Well sadly, I must go and get to that shovel. Why must the furnace guy be called on a weekend? It could have gone out tomorrow - cheaper for the service call maybe? Guess we'll find out.

    Hugs,

Good Morning - Sorry quilting trish for your furnace - it really seems like these things always happen on a weekend. Our kitchen pipes are frozen this morning and we're really hoping that there are no broken pipes under the house - so want this winter to be history! DH is down there and so far , he is only muttering. Hope everyone has a good Sunday.

        Good morning all!

Trish, I'm so sorry to hear about the furnace and glad to hear about Odie doing better

E Grandma, bless your heart, hope the pipes are not busted.

I agree with everyone, it is time for winter to go on its merry way. Not sure what to think. We're supposed to get snow again. WE LIVE IN SE NM, this is just not right!!!!!!

I've been throwing rock salt out in front of the office to melt the snow, but someone told me kitty litter worked better. Does anyone know?

During the super bowl, believe I'll sew a little on my red/white/blue. I'm using Natalie's tumbler ruler. Such a wonderful ruler.

        Y'all have a wonderful day!!!

This winter is making marks on everyone, in one way or the other. Sure hope Trish gets her furnace going soon - and E Grandma hope your pipes are unfrozen soon. We've been worried about the same here as a part went haywire on our furnace Friday morning. Had the repair man in and he's ordered a part (should be here tomorrow). Meanwhile, we're surviving with some portable heaters and the weather outside is cooperating (34 degrees here so snow is melting some). I'm always warm-blooded so I don't mind if it doesn't drop so low that we need to worry about pipes bursting.

Hubby is on his way to see his Mom this morning. He called the nursing home this morning and they said they were able to get her to take little sips of water - nothing really measurable. I am so concerned about the only daughter who lives in Israel - she's on the brink of losing it and I worry. Luckily she has kids around her.

Going to start Zoe's quilt this morning. Hope it goes like I vision it.

Stay warm and happy - there won't be any football here today.

NM- A combination of salt and kitty litter will work great. Make sure you do not get the clumping kitty litter though! , just get the regular clay. The salt melts the ice, and the litter provides traction.

Trish-Glad to hear Odie is doing better!!! I am sorry about your furnace, ours went out on a weekend a couple of years ago, I just don't get why that happens!!

E Grandma-YIKES!! I hope you don't have any broken pipes!!

            HUGS!!

Okay, so there is only ONE thing allowed on the tube today; that is anything that is sports related and ideally Green Bay favorable.
I will watch the game tonite with the man. But please deliver me from sports announcers. They are quite possibly the most annoying sound in the world.

Have a great day gals. Got lots to finish up food wise before the gang arrives to par-tay and eat.

                Re: Superbowl Sunday!

Not as cold this morning and not snowing. We got about 4 inches Saturday. I have chili on for super bowl evening at my sister's house. didn't accomplish much yesterday. Went to see my mom for her BD(88). then did some grocery shopping.
Woke up in the middle of the night and came downstairs to crochet. i've been working on this diagonally- worked afghan and have struggled a bit with some of the instructions. it's really not hard but the inst. aren't real clear. i had started the decreases and was not happy with it. light bulb came on while I was sleeping so I got up to tear out what I had done and redo it the right way. At 4 a.m. Dh came down about 30 min. later thinking something was wrong. Laughed at me and went back to bed. Redid all my work and could go back to sleep happy.
DD in Al. called and talked for about an hour. she is a quilter too and had lots to tell me about her recent projects.

                  Howdy Everybody!
I had a bit of a design change to the second block, but I think it will look much better now. I'll finish stitching that together after I put in the dough for the garlic cheese rolls. We have been invited to our neighbor's for the Super Bowl festivities this afternoon. I think the husband is rooting for GreenBay. I am just a fan of the commercials and the game is an added bonus.
I was going to start on the HoneyBun, but my daughter is pestering me for her aardvark stuffie. So, that is what will be next.
You all have a great day and try to stay warm and dry. I am really hoping that your furnaces are easily fixed and that the pipes are merely frozen and not split. We are having a 100% chance of rain today. I guess that is living in the Pacific Northwest for you.
                  Catch you all later!

                    Re: Superbowl Sunday!

Had an exciting day - got a new sewing machine! I'm off to a good start, calling it beauty instead of beastie, Sandy, as per your thoughts on the subject.

I got a Singer Confidence Quilter, having heard great things about it from janluna and others. Spent an hour or so getting to know it before I ever turned it on, and then played with the decorative stitches. Really sews nicely!

Minor bummer in that the 1/4" foot that is supposed to be there isn't :-(. But I sent Singer an email and I'm sure I'll get a foot soon.

Hope everyone in need of weekend repairs gets fair and trustworthy help with pipes and furnaces and such!

Deb make sure they have your serial number for the machine or they may send a foot that doesn't fit right. My friend decided she didn't like the 1/4 inch foot on hers so she gave it away and it didn't fit the other machine even though it was the same kind. Sent the serial number and the new one fit perfect. The machine sews nice doesn't it. I love mine.
Trish hope you get the furnace fixed and they don't charge too much. It is Super Bowl Sunday.
Blondie, I'm watching the game with my computer on my lap, that way I'm still with Joe and I don't miss the commercials! lol
Hope everyones furnaces, pipes and families are ok. Hugs, Jan
