    Snow Please!

I know that if I had snow like some of you lovely ladies are having I probably wouldn't like it but... Yesterday was 111 degrees, today we are heading for 114...it's HOT. Then we have a couple cool days of around 92 before it heads back up to today's temp again...enough already, I'm ready for winter. Sadly I don't have air conditioning in the house, only a small unit that will sort of keep one room reasonable, guess I'm not moving too far today. Even so I am lucky, DH has gone to work, he's a mechanic so no cooling for him at all in the workshop, he is going to need some pampering when he gets home.

So can you all scoop up a few handfuls of snow and blow it my way.

Oh I wish I could share with you.
we're expecting 6-10 by the middle of the week along with freezing rain. I can walk to work if I have to but the rest of the family has to be out on the roads.
i can sympathize with the no A/C issue. we don't have it either.

I have a package on the boat sailing your way. It should be there in about six months. Enjoy.

I hope the heat you are sending this way is on the El Nino/Nina tides . . . I feel chilled to the bone right now and would love to sweat enough that sand was sticking to me instead of icicles.

Haha Sandy should arrive just in time for winter. Mind you that would be ok, we don't get snow where I am so it would be novel.

I think we are on el Nina at the moment, stupid weather patterns is all I know, too much summer rain. I think Deb had the right idea, we need to make a cocktail of the two extremes and get something more comfortable for all.

You may have all the ice and snow that is coming my way! We are to get ice, then more ice, then 8-12 inches of snow over the next 2 days. I LOVE hot weather and would gladly trade houses with you right now!

We're expecting snow and snow with ice or rain on Tuesday and Wednesday. I'll take the cold any day before I could live with that heat. At least when it's cold you can layer on and be warm, but you can't take enough off with that kind of heat! I should send you one of my air conditioners. If I had the money I'd send a big one for your whole house to be cool. Sorry Love, I don't envy you. I'll keep my cold snow. Your winters must be lovely.

                  Re: Snow Please!

Jan I'm with you, in winter you can always put more on, get another quilt, whatever but you're right, you can only take so much off and then it is still hot. Relative to what most of you ladies have to deal with our winters (at least where I am) are quite mild, it would be rare for it to get below 25 degrees, mostly it is about 45 to 55 during the day. The other bad side to this heat is the fire danger, we are on extreme alert and everyone lives in fear of the fire siren going.

But all said and done I wouldn't swap, this is a great place to live despite the vagaries of mother nature. Now where is the box of iceblocks...

Hi again Lynn, Just heard the weatherman say that our high on Tuesday with be 1 below zero with wind chills to 30 degrees below zero - wish we could "share" the cold and hot - then we would both be comfortable!

                        Re: Snow Please!

I decided I love the heat when life places me next to a pool! Even when living in Indonesia last summer, I enjoyed the heat because of the lovely beach and available pool...but hot is hot when you are in the city or desert! I hope you have a pool available or some place you can enjoy near water! Sorry you don't have ac. but hope there is some sort of breeze to soften the heated blow!
We are so spoiled! Cracklin' fireplaces in cozy homes combats the cold for us, then, ac or pools refresh us in the summer's heat! Reading your woes...made me count my blessings and as I watch the snow fall these next few days, I'll think of you in the heat. I just heard MO is supposed to be clobbered by the next storm the winds blow across the prairies of KS.
You have to admit, God's way of giving us the gift of different seasons is awesome.
We are always grateful for the change!
Have a blessed day in whatever state of temp you find yourselves!

Ok I give up...I'll keep the heat. Blondie that was a great video song link, some of those images were downright scarey even though the song was kind of funny.

DH commented that at least once the heat has past there isn't any mess left behind. A friend in Indiana just sent a message to say he may be offline for several days, they are expecting an ice storm and have been warned of lengthy power outages.

I think someone should invite mother nature for afternoon tea and have some words with her about these extreme weather conditions.

                            Re: Snow Please!

I so admire the hardy folks way up North of me who weather these storms so well.
I am certainly praying for the ones here in the states getting the ice/snow. I think it is passing us by with just some cold rain. As long as there is no black ice I am happy.

Your hubs is right. No mess left behind to clean up after! Of course, those who get all this weather have the nicest gardens this summer. Always an upside to everything, I reckon.

Blessings, Lynn. Hope you can keep your "cool". You can always do like Marilyn Monroe did in a movie - put your undies in the freezer.
