    Re: Hallelujah Wednesday

    Good Wednesday morning everyone.
Had a nice day off yesterday, but back today. 2 hour delay - looks like I'm walking in though. The roads are still icy.
I sewed all afternoon and got binding on a quilt. Now to sit and hand tack it to the back. I like doing that part. It means I'm almost done.

Hope you all have a great day - and be careful out there. There's still lots of icy spots hanging around for most of us.

    Hugs,

      Good morning everyone.

Woke up to a beautiful sunrise this morning. We truly are blessed in our part of the country. The weather is supposed to beautiful today and then tomorrow turn ugly.

Everyone out there with black ice and bad roads, please be very careful if you have to get out.

Made a decision to do my beginning yoga every morning (once again). Why did I ever stop? It sure feel makes a girl feel better every day.

Prayers for all those who are in need of prayers.

      God bless and take care.

Good morning Blondie and Trish. How are you today? I am great! This is a day I never thought I'd see again. There is a front coming in and I don't hurt!!! I Feel amazing! They changed my meds and for once since 1979 I don't hurt. My legs aren't burning, my back isn't burning with pain. I can't believe it!!! YAY!!! I may actually get something accomplished today.
The weather yesterday was warm and muggy. That would be a bad day for me normally. Now we have this front coming through and with it, are dropping temps., rain, and snow. Normally I could tell you two days out, that something was going to hit us. But I couldn't tell yesterday that this was coming. It's icy, the roads are slippery, and wet, and it is cold. I let the dogs out this morning and it was brr. Even my parrot Tara said brr it's cold. I cracked up.
Have a great day. We are supposed to get snow tomorrow and Friday and I'm going outside and having a day with my friend Dawn on Friday. Just pray that this lasts, please. To have more than one day in a row without pain is indescribably wonderful!
I'm off to cut and sew. Wish me luck. Love you all, Jan

Oh Jan - that is absolutely wonderful! You have been in my prayers you know. I think we need another TIGGER dance for that fantastic news!

I decided to stay home today. The driveway is so slick that I can't even walk across it. I saw 4 vehicles up here above the driveway on the road that were struggling so there is no way I'm putting Katie in a vehicle with another teenager driving. She's home too. She has a project due soon anyways so she can spend the time today working on that.

Got to go! I'll be 'right over there' if anyone of ya'll need anything.

          Hugs,

Thanks Trish, I appreciate the prayers. They are working! Have a great day off. I was watching on the news this morning and the cars going off the road in PA was something to behold. Very scary! Keeping Katie home was a good idea. Kids think they are invincible.
I was once there myself. Today is not a day I would have my kids take a school bus let alone a car in your situation. It's not as bad here yet but they say it's coming. And , YAY!, I don't feel it!! Hugs, Jan

Lock the doors, pull the blinds, head to your sewing 'spot' and ignore all telephone calls or uninvited guests . . . and just sew today. It's too cold to worry about anything else (UNLESS . . . FedEx delivers a package with sewing related items).

Goal today is to hand-tie Tia Paz's purple lap quilt and get it ready to ship - it's a WEEK late already and I've been procrastinating.

Had a great Nana Day with three DGDs yesterday. One worked on a fleece backed blanket with a 1 1/2 yard piece of cat themed fabric. One got creative and made an owl pillow complete with felt feet/claws, a beak, button eyes and wings to wrap around her while she sleeps. The third was using her introduction to sewing machine book I got her for Christmas. She created her own pattern (per instructions in the book), made her own template, cut her fabric, pinned, sewed, clipped seams, turned and stuffed. She then found some really absurd yet flashy pea-green glitzy fabric and made a stuffed pillow for her bed. Then cat-lady had to make a pillow, too. She abandoned her blanket about 3/4 way and made a gingham pillow. Attempting to hand-stitch her name on the pillow she tore a hole in the gingham (don't ask me how??) so Nana came to the rescue and placed a cute heart-shaped iron-on patch for her . . . it's a design feature.

Can anyone tell that I love this forum?

May everyone be blessed and have a safe and productive day . . . even catching up on rest in front of a warm fire is productive . . .

Good to see the survival of fellow quilters. Watched the news this morning and MORE white stuff is on its way...we are preparing for 4-7 inches. We'll take that any day over black ice! No worries for me though, I work on same campus as my hubby who can drive through anything. His training was in western NY where snow piles high! Just all be careful. Debi

3-6 inches called for here tomorrow. I'm thinking early dismissal from school Thursday and off on Friday. I plan on finishing up some stippling on my "practice" quilt. So far my beginning stippling looks so so. I plan on making a big pot of soup and staying in my craft room all day.

I did good today, I got quite a few 1/4 circles cut for the block swap, plus a lot of blades for the fan part. I have to do more, but I got some done before my back spased up and I had to quit cause I couldn't stand up straight anymore. I am so happy that I accomplished so much. These meds are really helping. I will be done before the 25th of Feb. and will be able to get my fan blocks done. YAY!!!

Jan, I'm so happy for you!

Clear skies today in NJ but yeah, we're supposed to get more snow this week too, so enjoying a dry (if slushy) day. It's 43 degrees right now, the highest it's been in weeks, so I'm hoping for some melting, dang it.

Long day at work today so may not be one of the lucky ones who gets to sew today, but I DO have y'all here with me at work on the forum!

                            Evening, Ladies
Had a decent day; took Mom for the ultrasound, now waiting to hear from the dr's. We had a liight lunch and went to a thrift or two. Came home and sewed on a block for the brown bag quilt thing. I have decided to go with a paper pieced pattern from Quilters Cache place. Called "That Thirties Thing". I will post a pic of it in a bit. I think I will like it! Would be fun if we did something like that here.

Sandym your Nana's Day sounded perfect! How much joy you get when you give. I admire you for being the Nana that is not only sharing a good skill, but also creating memories to keep these precious ones happy for many years to come. I expect one day they will say," Do you remember that day we spent with Nana and made pillowcases and pillows? I still have mine, do you?"

Jan, how happy that the meds are working! Hooray! Be good to YOU.

Sew soft, I homeschooled my three for several years. It takes a lot of commitment to do this and we are not even goining to talk about the patience and organization it takes! I have never regretted one day that I gave to their education. God bless you!

All my other sisters in areas that are in for snow, I can only say keep it away from me! Be careful, and thankfully our Debi has a good driver in her hubs. Today was in the 40's and sunny. I know we are in for rain/snow showers this weekend and the forecast for next week is calling for more snow. I am only hoping that since they want to predict that far in advance, they are risking the chance of being wrong. I am so over winter.

Hoping that all have a great evening. Big hugs and smoochies all around. Don't let the bed bugs bite.

Blondie - I have thought of that - just here lately - and wonder what it will be like for them when they do "do you remember".

Jan, I'm sending you a pm about your pain. Have some questions

Sew soft - and Blondie - My daughter homeschools her six girls. I got a kick out of my husband when we were taking the girls home yesterday afternoon and he asked "Do they get five hours credit for Home Ec today?"

Love you all - here it feels like best sister day every day.
