    One step closer

Never underestimate youthful enthusiasm and determination! Four strong young men purchased and carefully took apart our pool table, placed it into 2 panel trucks and drove off into the sunset. I sat and prayed they wouldn't hurt themselves. They lifted the slate slab in one piece, don't ask me how. It must have weighed at least 450 lbs, maybe more. They arrived with tools, got right to work and were done in less than 2 hours. They own a flooring installation business so are used to hard work. Bless them. Hubs said "wow, you work fast. I said it would be nice to get rid of the pool table and you got it out of here in less than 24 hours". Haha...tell me I can get a longarm and I'm off and running. Never underestimate a quilter with a bee in her bonnet!

Now I've got a nice open space 11X16'

Ruthie, I think it's the same machine you have, right? A Simply Sixteen? I might need help, lol.

I find it amazing how quickly they were there picking the table up, its not something thought would go fast, well done.

I'm not sure if I'll attempt it myself or have the shop's machine guy do it. They probably won't have to take the frame completely apart so we can bring it home in chunks. I might try to do it myself and call in the troops if I get stuck.

If they offer, even for a small price, to set it up, I would take up the offer.
Ours was delivered directly to our house by HQ, but the LQS owner and husband came to set it up. I guess it was easier for them to do it, than to get probably a LOT of calls from us about any issues.

I think you and Jean make a good point. I probably don't know what I'm in for. It might be tricky and I have no knowledge or experience to fall back on if things go awry.

Wow when you make up your mind you don't mess around! Can't believe how fast you cleared out that pool table. When we were shopping for houses ten years ago we saw a few listings with pool table or piano in the basement that came with the house. Now I know why! (We didn't buy one of those). Have fun with your new toy.

I helped someone move an upright piano out of a second floor apartment once. ONCE. Never again.
