Good Morning and Happy Thanksgiving to everyone. Cathy, we’re up mighty early. I need to bake the pumpkin pie and get the turkey roasting in a bit. Our meal will be easy, actually very little more work than one of our regular meals. I baked the cake yesterday and organized some of the ingredients and casserole dishes for today.

I need a cup of tea but I know I can’t make one without waking the Girls and I’m not ready for their energy yet. Sugar wakes up ready to go…Maggie is slow and quiet for about an hour. Some mornings she needs to be held when she first wakes up. I know how she feels.

I’m off to start my day. Hugs all around.

Yes, up way too early, been up since four. A long day ahead will probably crash after everyone leaves.

I used to breed puppies and I remember when we had a litter how quiet I had to be knowing that once the puppies were awake I wouldn't get anything done. And I have experience with my SIL's Westie so know how demanding they can be! Happy Thanksgiving.

    Happy Thanksgiving!
I hope everyone who is celebrating today has an enjoyable time!
I was up early today, too, at 4. But we aren't having Thanksgiving till Sunday so I'm just having an early tea. And trying to keep kitty happy till it's time for her insulin. She's wanting to eat but I want to hold her off for another hour till she gets her shot.
We are spending the day at the casino, well, at least until the money runs out!
    Have a happy day!

Good morning and Happy Thanksgiving to all of you celebrating, whether it be today or another day. I was also up way too early but I was having gallbladder issues. I drank a club soda and it seemed to help and then I went back to bed for an hour. The attack seems to have passed.

I had a good day yesterday. Although I was asked if I would replace for 4-6 weeks at another post office. I felt guilty refusing but I really don't want to go for that long. We are so short staffed BUT that isn't my problem is it? Christmas is coming and this would take me well into the new year. So I need to just get passed it. I am going to start answering the phone "Help Desk". I got a few more calls yesterday, lol!! Some I can help and some I can't.

The afternoon pace was a lot slower and I got to sit down and get some sewing done. I should be done today if all goes well.

Have a great holiday my friends. Stay safe and healthy. If you are traveling, safe travels.
Blessed are the children of the piecemakers for they shall inherit the quilts!

P.S. Once the gallbladder stops doing its job, it can never go back. It can create severe liver issues. My cousin lost her DH at 42, because he was scared to have surgery, he developed jaundice and that was it.

Oh Monique! I've been there, done that. Those attacks are so painful. Glad they have passed. Had my 4 small incisions surgery in my early 20s. It was easy, peasy. I would do it again if I had to.

Happy Thanksgiving to all. I am so thankful for this forum family. Your love and support through my life's struggles has been so wonderful.

Winds woke me up at 2:30 and thinking maybe a morning nap before I head to my son's for eatin' time. Daughter is coming too with the little ones, gotta be sure and have my energy recharged for them. Cooked my two dishes yesterday and so today is just reheatin'. I did have to toss the first batch of dressing and start over, much happier with the taste of the 2nd one.

Hope all have a safe and happy day today.

Happy Thanksgiving to you all! Big cooking day ahead for many, my part is to do the pies. We make little individual pumpkin pies, great for grabbing a snack in the upcoming days. Then Chef Doug takes over the kitchen, and refuses help. SO off we go to sew or do some other chore till dinner time! Works for me!

We went to the Van Gogh exhibit yesterday. If you have a chance to see this in your city, I highly recommend it, In St. Louis, the experience is in a temporary structure, a big tent on the parking lot of a shopping center. In Atlanta, it is in an old railroad terminal. The shows were a bit different, but totally awe inspiring. I love Van Gogh’s work, and we visited several places in France on a river cruise where he lived and worked and did most of his known works. Great experience.

When we got home, we grabbed a bite and headed off to her favorite quilt shop. Walked in at 2:51, they announced that they were closing at 3! I found some backing for a commissioned baby quilt, and we scurried home.

Hope you all have a great day!

    Good morning ☀️

Well seems like many of us are up and at it! I need to make a couple of sweet potato pies this am….dinner is t here and it’s later in the afternoon, so I’ll be fine. I had no time yesterday. We did clean the gutters, flower beds, flower pots and cleaned up the yard. This should be the last time the lawn needs attending to. Whew!

It’s raining 🌧 and should do so all day…..I hope it’s not heavy when we leave. We’ve got 1 birthday under our belt and today is another and tomorrow another…..our busy time of year.

Hope everyone has a blessed and peaceful day 🦃 I’m so thankful for each and every one of you……my life is richer and more joyful with y’all here 💕💕💕

      Happy Thanksgiving

Your meals sound delicious. Turkey is a favourite here, so I envy your dinners.

Today we are to pick up a chair I had reupholstered. It was supposed to be done before we moved in October, but upholsterer had emergency surgery for twisted bowel so chair sat for too long. We have a 90 minute drive as his shop is nearer our old house. We are also going to Swiss Chalet. The one that is near here has closed their sit down portion & is just offering drive through. I need a Swiss Chalet before we head to Florida. There isn’t anything comparable there.

Yesterday turned into a busy day. I had banking to do & then Colin suggested we eat out. He then had to visit a friend 30 minutes from where we ate, so it was late afternoon when we got home. No sewing happening then as I was tired.

Enjoy your day & stay safe

woke at 2:30 ..put a log on...went back to bed and woke at 4 and that was too early to get started so I went back to bed thinking an hour would be good...noooo...it was almost 7 and that 22 lb bird needed to be in the oven no later than 7 so I scurried ...make the stuffing and got him started. Made some coffee and here I am.
Happy Thanksgiving.... Don't know what time the kids will arrive. DH thinks it is inconsiderate for them not to give me some eta. I'm cool with it. THey'll get here when they can. I'm sure traffic will be awful. 200 miles for them to travel is a blessing to me.
Last night I made homemade pizza. We have one of those pizza oven things and love it and have missed it since we've been at the coast. Although, there is a great pizza place just 8 miles from us there. Here its 50 miles to pizza thats not even very good.
Made the cake (it fell when I frosted it with the heavy coconut/pecan frosting) got the sweet potato casserole out of the freezer to thaw, put the list together so I wouldn't forget anything, boiled the eggs for the deviled eggs, got out all the canned goods and I think I'm ready to put it together.
Got the Husqvarna packed up as I won't be able to lift it after the eye surgery so I want to get it close to the car so DH doesn't have to move it far. Got the house sort of cleaned at ...Probably better work on cleaning myself and then back to the kitchen.
Happy Thanksgiving to all of you, especially those who are not fortunate enough to have their families with them. I know holidays are the most difficult. Know that we are thankful for your friendshiup

        Happy Thanksgiving, Forum Friends!

Looks like we had some rain overnight. We may see some of the dreaded white stuff tomorrow. Thanksgiving is pretty low-key around here. Mom took a dislike to it when I was in my teens. She didn't like being alone in the kitchen while the rest of us watched football. One year Dad & I lobbied for turkey, so Mom cooked up a couple of Stouffer's frozen turkey dinners and that was Thanksgiving. Today I have small, 3 lb., boneless turkey breast that I will cook around lunch time. I usually make a turkey sandwich and watch movies.

My hot water heater was replaced Tuesday afternoon. It did not take very long (about an hour and half). It is wonderful to have hot water again.

I had a good visit with Mom yesterday. I took her some new shirts. When I showed them to her, she said one of them made her sad. I asked her why; she said because she didn't have one. LOL! I explained the shirt was for her and she perked up.

        Have a wonderful day!

          Happy Thanksgiving,

Sending Thanksgiving wishes to each of you and your families. May your celebration be blessed with love and cheer. Our day will be spent with our children and Little Man. Dson will visit with us too. He always makes a fun time telling stories about his adventures on the boat and fishing tales.

All the well intended cooking plans didn't happen yesterday. We spent the day with DD and Little Man. They hung the lights for us and Little Man plugged them in. I hope we can make that one of his traditions. DH and I took them to Olive Garden for dinner. There was a mix up in the servers and we were ignored until the manager became involved. Lots of attention and free appetizers. At the end of the meal, the manager inquired about our meals. Little Man told her he loved her pasta. I think her heart melted a little with our charmer.

DD captured the cutest picture of DH and Little Man holding hands walking out to the truck. Yes, the cooking can wait. We were making memories. However, the flan and apple pie need to go in the oven pronto.

          Thanksgiving Blessings to all!

Good Thanksgiving Day Morning to Everyone ~ It's only 20 deg. here. Brrr. I'm up at my usual 5 a.m. time, every day. No big cooking plans. I'll just enjoy a quiet day. Maybe I can get some sewing done. All I got done yest. (sewing related), was to vac. the fam. rm. carpet, then lay out my 6.5" blocks & rearrange them. I'll take a final study of them before starting to piece them together. It's the Tula Pink fabrics.

My knees were very sore yest. eve. & still are this a.m. I think it must be the horizontal leg press that's the culprit. I've had incr. pain after the last 2 therapy sessions; that mach. was the only thing that was different. It also aggravates an old lower back issue. I think I'll refuse to use that mach. next time.

It didn't get very warm yest. Mostly cloudy all day. High was 55, but the temp. started dropping in the afternoon & was down to the 30's by bedtime. Tomorrow it's supposed to be mid-60's. Maybe I can get that small patch of leaves raked up. They fell off the neighbor's tree after we had our fall clean-up.

I hope everyone enjoys their family times today & all that good food you all are cookin' up. It sounds yummy.
Among all my other blessings, I'm very thankful for all my Forum friends.

Happy thanksgiving to all. My DD and SIL will be joining me for dinner today. Maybe the grands will come by. Some work, some have worked late yesterday and spend the day sleeping. Then my DD and I plan our Black Friday shopping. We go very early and get back home quickly. This is the only time of year I enjoy shopping. Must be the challenge. Then it is back to sewing.

Happy Thanksgiving to you all! I am very thankful for my Forum friends and I hope you all have a wonderful day. I took some shortcuts to make my dinner this year. Honey Baked Hams made my ham and turkey. My daughter is bringing the stuffing and desserts. My son is bringing the potatoes and an appetizer. I’m making green beans, baked beans, squash casserole, slaw, and fruit salad. We will have rolls and sweet tea. That should be enough to put everybody to sleep. My youngest daughter had spinal surgery yesterday. She will be in the hospital for another night. I can take her some leftovers when she feels better. I hate it that she had to have surgery at this time, but the doctor thought it was urgent to get it done immediately. We will miss her and her husband this year.

Take care and safe travels to all who must get out this weekend!
