    Sharing the Family

I keep mentioning my DGDs and thought I would share their family picture that was taken recently. You know the thing about silly old grandmothers with pictures in purse, right? In this day and age this has to be the next best thing.

Back row, left - that's our Dear Emily - she's six going on sixty. Just learning to sew on the machine. She has been playing guitar for about six months, and started ice skating when she was two.
Back row, right - Amanda is 19 now. She scared herself on the sewing machine, loves to cook and loves the new babies when they come. She skates with Special Olympics and has been skating for about 5 or 6 years.
Center - that's Sierra. She's our talented musician, guitar and piano player and she's 10 years old. She has been ice skating since she was about 5 and recently took first and second in a regional competition. She made Zoe a rag quilt for Christmas - on the machine and all by herself.
Then comes Mom, leaning on Dad. They are expecting another bambino in May.
Little Rita with her hand on Mommy's arm, is three and doesn't want another birthday because she has promised she'd give up her 'BINKIE'. She, too, ice skates and is learning to knit. In fact, she asked for her own knitting needles and yarn for Christmas.
Michelle is 8 and will be 9 the end of March. She plays piano and guitar, sews, knits, ice skates, and is the deep thinker - the profound one in the family. She has BLACK hair and claims when she was born she stole all Daddy's hair.
Sitting on Dad's lap is our wonderful little Zoe - she turned 2 in September and is the bright spot in our lives. She's a tease and knows it . . . and we have no idea why she wouldn't smile in this picture. She is just now taking to the ice.

Absolutely gorgeous Sandy, I only have one very precious granddaughter, how much more special to have six beautiful little girls. What's funny is DH walked past and commented...'lots of weddings'. Enjoy them while they are young, they grow and spread their wings all too soon.
