    Monday, mar18

The above hugs is for all the Monday blues you may have . . .

    Hello Folksies!

That's right, it's Monday! Oh how I love Mondays, let me count the ways . . .
    1. it is MY day
    2. it is the day I do nothing; nada; nichts; rien; absolutely, positively, a wonderful day on my calendar!
    3. it is MY day
    4. I only answer the phone if it is Moms or Luscious
    5. it is MY day

And who cares if it is raining yet again this morning. It is after all, Monday. My day. At least that is what I am telling myself this morning.

In reality, I will go down The Hill to check on Mom. We have an appt with the retina specialist in the early a.m. tomorrow and I do not believe she will be going. I can't imagine her cough subsiding long enough for any laser work. Scarey thought, that.

Other than that I have no plans to do anything but sew, listen to music while I clean the bathrooms and mop. Dinner will be leftover pork loin turned bbq, coleslaw, and sweet taters. mmmm.

Later folksies. I will pop in and out during the day. Be smart, play nice and smile lots.

    Sewing mends the soul.

    Re: Monday, mar18

Happy Day friends!!! I'm hoping to get some more done on the quilting for my daughter's quilt. I'm getting closer to starting the applique. I hope it turns out the way I envision it! Cleaning bathrooms, Blondie? Yuck! One of my least favorite chores. Fortunately, I got this flat whipped into shape right before Joe got home from his business meetings in Norway. The project he's been working on has finally been accepted. He won't let me brag to Our friends so I'm going to brag to MY friends here. I am so incredibly proud of him. He has managed to develop a very complicated system that will increase productivity for the largest gas processing plant in the world. It is a major accomplishment in his career. I am in awe of the brain he carries around in that head of his. We're talking tens of thousands of equations in this project! Okay. I'm done bragging. Thanks for listening.
Goodbye Europe! Hello California! Home sweet home.

      Re: Monday, mar18

Blondie, sending hugs your way too. I have been waiting for you today. I have been up since 3. Hubby got up and woke me up, unintentionally, and I could not get back to sleep.

Rebecca, congratulations to your husband. No wonder you are so proud.

It's Monday indeed and I am not answering the phone if I get a call to work. Nope, not today. I need to get groceries TODAY! and there are things that need to get done here. We are expecting a blast of winter tonight into tomorrow.

I got into my sewing room and was straightening it a bit. I thought I had a little box of hexies that I wanted to send to Lonna, but do you think I can find them. Nooooooo.

My baby went home yesterday. I had a wonderful week with her but it was time to go home. I love her dearly. Can you tell?

So that is about it for me today. Have a wonderful day everyone.
Blessed are the children of the piecemakers for they shall inherit the quilts!

        Re: Monday, mar18

Well, Rebecca, I am in awe right along with you! You should be very proud of this talented, gifted man.
I am leaving the computer room at the moment, since the potty and tub need a good scouring. Yeah, yuck!

          Re: Monday, mar18

Good morning! We're having thunderstorms this morning...I hope none of them get severe. DH and I bought electrical supplies for the sewing studio yesterday. Maybe with the rain DH can finish the electric hook-up and install a light switch. When it's dry enough for farming or fencing, this type of work will come to a screeching halt.

I'm counting down Mondays toward retirement. Counting today I have 20 more Mondays to report to work.

Rebecca, you can be very proud of Joe! That's a wonderful accomplishment!

Time to get moving and get ready for work. Hope everyone has a great day.

            Good Morning..

Enjoy your day, Blondie. Jeff will be over for dinner with you this evening...that's our kind of food. I hope Mom gets better soon. It's something that has to run it's course evidently.

The last time I said I was geting well I got blasted...but I am starting to feel better. Two more days of meds and now that I don't cough non-stop maybe I can finally get some extra rest. I have to see the doc late this afternoon. My plans for today don't go beyond my bed with Miss Molly close by my side and lots of TV.

Monique, glad you had such a good time with your sweet DGD! My grandkids used to just wear me out with all their energy and activities. They're both adults now .

We had electrical storms last evening and all night. DH unplugged the computer but forgot to unplug Lola. Fortunately Lola's okay. He wouldn't love buying me another new Janome!

Rebecca, you should be extremely proud of Joe!

I guess I will wander off here and check out a few posts...I'm so behind.

Wishing everyone a good Monday with hugs, Bdarb

Good morning to all........Rebecca.......congrats to you husband on such an accomplishment. Barb...glad to hear you are behaving yourself. This weekend my mom & I went garage sale shopping & I found a Brother VX950 sewing machine.......for $10! It has over 20 stitches & weighs a ton. I was told it worked & that it is about 20 years I hope it does.......haven't played with it yet. Are any of you familiar with that it a good machine? I found owners manual online.

This week I will be busy.........huge book sale is this coming weekend. Going to help sort, what we hope will be the last of the donations today......which is a room full. Fortunately, we have a high school soccer team that moves all the boxes to the gym for us. Set up will be Wed. & Thurs. and the sale is Fri. - Sun.

My family (my mom's side) is also having a family reunion this Saturday. Looking forward to seeing cousins I haven't seen in awhile.....lots of laughing & hugs ahead!

Hope each of you have a great week!

                  Re: Monday, mar18

Blondie & Monique....enjoy your "me" day!
Rebecca....congrats to your hubby! That is a huge accomplishment.
Myrna.....I would be doing the countdown too!!
                  Mary....don't work too hard

I didn't know if I was going to be driving on ice or what this morning. The news sure does embelish things....the only thing that was icy this morning was my car. Now that I'm at work - I think it will be an easy day...the boss called off today and the lady that does the major portion of my payroll isn't that won't get done until tomorrow. What to do with myself all day??

I think I'm going to work on my maple leaf quilt tonight. I will probably alternate days for the maple leaf and the butterfly swap so I can get them both finished up soon.

Well off to check the daily deal and my bank account balance. Might need to order some more fabric.

Have a wonderful day!!! Prayers to those in need and hugs to all!

Good morning, all...especially you, Blondie! Hope you enjoy "Mon-day" and celebrate some leisure!
Praying for your mom and even the wisdom of tomorrow's appt.

My Monday is errands and doctor's appts. High hopes for eye check-up.
And then, off for blood work as doctors puzzle over recurring blood clots. Ugh. No worries. I feel great and just took a long 37 hour flight home with no problems, but they tell me my leg is a walking time-bomb. Funny, I always want to comment on that..."aren't we all since we have no guarantee of tomorrow?", but I don't think they would appreciate my thoughts of their immortality and readiness. Hmmm!
Anyway...dear friends, have a blessed day and enjoy the variety of activities!
                    love, Debi

                          Re: Monday, mar18

Blondie: I don't consider cleaning part of a me day. We are all so different. Have a great day
Monique: I am glad you had such a good week with your granddaughter and sorry you are missing her so bad.
Rebecca: congratulations for your hubby and you have the right to be proud and shout it out loud right here!
Myrna: 20 Monday's, what an accomplishment

Bubby: I want to keep hearing that you are feeling better and better.

We are expecting a snow storm tonight. Yes I said snow storm. 6-10 inches. We had robins in our yard yesterday, we have buds starting on our trees. I have lost hope of having our daffodils for our anniversary because they are not even popping through the ground right now. I hope that this is the last storm of the year. I don't like mopping the floor 5 times a day but would prefer that to shoveling. My son and hubby better get a snow day out of this.

I am heating up my sewing room, whoever owned this house before us removed the radiator. So I heat it with an electric one when I use the room. It is taking forever this morning because I keep the door closed when I am not in there and it was only 16 degrees at 6:30 this morning.

I love to see photos off what people make. I finished some totes that turned out horrible yesterday. I have one more to finish up and then I will post them. I am expecting kindness and support but I know how ugly they truly are!

Have a blessed day to all.

Please treat others as you would hope others would treat those you love.

                            Re: Monday, mar18

Good Morning All, Day isn't starting off well, think I need another cup of coffee to get myself going. My Monday plan is to spend time sewing with breaks for a bit of cleaning, then sewing again until it's time to cook something for dinner. Like Blonide I have a bathroom cleanup on my list - just the one upstairs as it's near my sewing room and gives me the opportunity to get up and walk a bit between sewing sessions. DH will be spending the afternoon at the photo lab at school. He will be developing the photos he took while I was fabric shopping in Lancaster and should have them ready to hand in at his class Wednesday evening. We often combine our hobby interests when we go somewhere - he even checks out fabric shops while making vacation arrangments. That way I can drop him off to play golf and I can go fabric shopping.

Feel better Bubby and Kudos to Rebecca's DH. May

                              Re: Monday, mar18

Good morning .I did get my two mile walk in rain and all. I see a lot of robins out looking for worms.
I hope the temp don't drop anymore. It is 34 now just above the freezing mark. Anyway I can see flowers sprouting up and the birds were singing early this morning. So that is a good sign.
Some one sent me an e mail saying this month there are 5 Sundays, 5 Fridays and 5 Saturdays this month. And that won't happen again in my life time.
Well my wish is for all to have a great week. God Bless
                              Hugs Ann
