    Brrrr! It's Monday!

    'Morning all!
It is bright, clear, & cold here! We are aiming for any temperature above freezing today!
I hope you all are well.

I have a bit of sad good news. My step-son broke up with his girlfriend. Sad cause it hurt him to do it. Glad because she was sucking the life out of his dreams. Long story, but I think she was looking at him like a meal ticket, and her mother was starting to see the same thing. I am so glad he got out before she got pregnant and hooked him that way. Thanks be to the Lord for his friends parents who saw the same thing and told him so. Because you know, a teenager's own parents are stupid until they get to be 25 or so.

I have a few sewing projects to work on today. I didn't get to sew all day like I wanted. Family kept meandering in and needing something or other. There is a reason I seem to have project ADD!

You all have a great day & take care!
    Cathy

    Re: Brrrr! It's Monday!

Good Morning! Cathy you are so right regarding teens and "young love". Make sure he understands that life is not over and that there is really someone better for him out there!
It is not as cold here but with the warming temp we will get snow for sure.
We went ice fishing this weekend. Of the group of seven that went I was the only one to catch a nice 2 lb trout!. So here I am sitting on my chair, rod resting on my legs and I am reading a quilting magazine. My rod bumps my magazine and I am thinking' how rude" when it dawns on me that I had a fish nibbling the bait and then he bite. What fun! The magzine did land on the ice but no damage...lol. SO we had a nice stuffed trout supper last night. Moral of the story every one should read quilting magazines while ice fishing! Proof is in the catch
I have today off so I am working on my black and white squares.
    Have a great day everyone!

Brrr.....it's cold here too Cathy. I think we posted at the same time, but all is good, just more to share that way! I hope your step-son's heart mends well and quickly. Young love is what it's all about, after all. I'm sure once he realizes that life is better on this side, he will feel much better.
Sally, your ice fishing story is too cute. I have to say, you are a much more brave woman than I! I am willing to fish in the nice warm temps of spring and summer, but surely not ice fishing...quilting magazine or not! LOL LOL and so glad to hear you were the one to make the catch for dinner.
I have all of the decorations down and packed away.....DH is feeling some better, but is sleeping again. I have to make a quick run to town, but then to the machines to finish off the day the way I love to finish it. I have the embroidery job to do, but will be doing some sewing on the other machine at the same time. Yesterday, I was browsing through the MSQC blog postings and found some great written tutorials that I want to try out! Maybe I can use up some of my scraps in the process!

yep, it's still cold here but not like last week. Praise the Lord for that!

Cathy, my adult children STILL don't take my advice. They would listen to a squirrel before me. So, I am mindful of what advice I offer and pray about the rest. It keeps my tummy tied up sometimes in an awful knot. And they are ALL over 25.

Shauna, love your fish story! But I am glad I didn't have to retrieve the magazine off the ice or even find a spot to fish from in that temp! Good golly gal, y'all are sure hardy folk up that way! As my Daddy would say, "there's more power to you".

We stayed at home a few nights and Mom asked us to stay with her a few more. Tonite I will sleep at home again. Poor thing. She couldn't face going to church yesterday morning, she started crying, etc., so we just kept her company. She is going to have a lot of "firsts" this next year, won't be easy. However, she was able to go to church last evening and was glad she did.

Hoping to work on making a doll pattern this evening and sew it up. May not get it all finished but I dream big. lol. Also, made a few dresden fans today. They sure are pretty!
          Have a good evening, everyone.
