    It's a sunny Tuesday

Good morning friends. Yes we have sunshine this morning but it isn't very warm. Yesterday I made the ear savers and they turned out really good. Out of a thousand buttons, how hard is it to find 2 the same? It's like trying to find Waldo, LOL!! In any case, they are done. I tried the round one but that didn't work out. So that idea was dropped. I have two more work days coming up, Friday and Monday next week. I have actually been putting all this extra money away. When all this crap is over, we will be taking a much needed vacation.

I didn't get very much done on the baby quilt except get it sandwiched. I might try to get some work done on that. I think I will machine quilt it, stitch-in-the-ditch.

Other than that, life is pretty simple around here. Apparently we have a rat in the community and we pretty well know who he is. He is sour because his niece has a chip stand across the road from his hotel (restaurant). I think he sent the cops to make sure there was distancing and then they visited a member of the community who lives here but still have license plates from another province. He was told move or change your address. Hmm there are a lot of those around here and they haven't been targeted. Hmmm. It isn't the first time that he has been underhanded like that. Worse than kids in the sandbox. Little village, big drama.

So my rant is over. We will do our daily check on Doug and probably take him grocery shopping tomorrow morning.

So that is what it is in my neck of the woods. What is in your day? No matter what, stay safe and healthy my friends.
Blessed are the children of the piecemakers for they shall inherit the quilts!

    Good morning!

Today is supposed to be cool and wet, but a little bit of sun managed to peek through. Rain is on its way this morning.

I finished my project for work! Yippee!! 🎉 We had to make three videos: one of ourselves saying "thank you" or holding up a sign; one of us coloring our assigned letter with chalk; and a close-up of just the letter. One of my co-workers made a video with her phone and the guy we sent them to could not open it. She has to do it again! 😱 I would cry if I had to do that.

To celebrate my accomplishment, I purchased a few embroidery designs for my machine. My Ohio sister loves anything beach themed. I bought some free-standing lace designs of shells, starfish, etc. I stitched a couple of them out last night. I haven't decided if they will be a gift for her birthday in June, or if I will give them to her early to cheer her up. She has had a hard time with the safe at home orders. She likes to go somewhere and do something every day and does not like being housebound at all.

Time to make a second cup of tea and log in to my work chat. Have a wonderful day!

You brought back flash backs of my Montessori training. We had to have a slide show of our year, before the days of power point slides. I took pictures, took them to be developed.. the only ones that turned out were the ones I took outside. I had 30/36 pictured of blackness. The last week of school,,, with nothing going on, I took another roll of film and tried again... still black. I turned in both boxes, and put the only pictures that were good on the top. I tried, thankfully, since I had tried twice, Ceres let me slide on that!

Good Morning, Everyone ~ A bit chilly this a.m. Only 39 deg. & frost. The sky is clear. It's well known around here that one shouldn't plant annuals until after Mother's Day. It might be a bit longer this spring. I see several 30's in the extended forecast. So I guess I won't have the sprinkler system turned on for a while yet. I don't want to take any chances on things freezing.

Yest. was a beautiful day. It got up to 80 deg. mid-day, but then a blustery wind came up & cooled things off into the lower 70's. The lawn is looking quite green after the recent rain.

My PT went well. We decided to do 2 more sessions. My Rx was for 4-6 wks., so I have 2 left. We'll use them. The therapist noted good improvement, but I still have work to do. She suggested I get out & walk (which I know I need to do), slowly increasing my walking time & distance.

The newspaper headline this a.m. states per our county's mandate, everyone >the age of 12 must wear a mask or face covering when out & about. I still see the occasional person not wearing a mask.

I didn't get any sewing done yest. Maybe today.

I told Gabby this morning, she needed to walk more (I can't tell if she's just getting really fluffy or gaining weight). I guess that means I should walk more, too. ;-)

Monique, tattletales about this "thing" remind me when I was in school as a child and how the Russians taught their children to tattle on the household if they were doing something "wrong" I think it is scary that it has come to this. My daughter who works as a PMI foreclosure claim processor says that every county website she goes to says to report if they see someone violating the stay at home order. that is just wrong.
We went boating yesterday and DH actually sat the boat still long enough for me to throw in my fishing line. Not long enough to catch a fish, but I sure did enjoy the process. He really has the ADHD itch right now. The realtors are dragging things out and now the seller needs more time to investigate whether they will take care of our inspection requests which puts us over our due diligence date. He is getting upset. I can't seem to calm him this time. When he asks me to do something, he immediately jumps in with the hurry up thing. He is sleeping 12-15 hours a day now which is really unusual for a man that was 5-6 hours with maybe an hour nap. I'm getting worried.
I sewed a bit yesterday before the satalite dish guy came. Made a potholder...that was fun. Worked on the double wedding ring about an hour.
Today I plan to work on laundry I thing. Expecting a little rain .
Ohhhhhhh nooooo, I reread this and I sound so negative.....shame on me. I'm going to have coffee and have a good talking to my self about that. Life is good.
Walk in peace with the Lord by your side.

It sounds like your DH needs to have a complete physical, with check up of labs, etc. to make sure everything is okay. There could be some hormonal imbalance or something going on. I also would be concerned. It's definitely not normal to sleep that long every day. Does he have any problems with depression?

Terry, as far as I'm concerned you didn't sound negative, just honest. You're worried about several things at once & sometimes it has to be dealt with. Glad you got to throw a line out on your boat. Maybe soon you'll be reeling in a big fish. The house worry will be resolved before you know it. Your DH is dealing the best way for him right now. Things will improve eventually. Hopefully before you yank clumps of your hair, lol. Just remember, we love you. Gina

Oh you guys are so great. The realtor extended the due diligence period by a week. We read the law and see no reason to do this but she says the seller has to complete their due diligence about what we requested within the time frame. CYA if you ask me. Anyway, according to OUR realtor, the seller intends to honor our requests but just wants estimates so she know what to expect. I guess I get that. It has to be fixed whether we buy it or somebody else does.

    Good Morning All,

Made it out yesterday, we went to Town Center. I picked up Gabby's food and treats at Pet Smart. The line at JoAnn's was long, so we skipped that. Mike had DVDs to sell at Second and Charles. We dropped them off and went next door to Hobby Lobby. It wasn't crowded at all. I found some brown board fabric to border Noah's Ark and not a single stretcher bar in the shop. We went back to 2nd & Charles to pick up the money, and I found a set of Geronimo Stilton books for Jonathan for less that 2.50 a piece, score!(regular price 7) We ate lunch at Grub, they have delicious hamburgers. All of the tables had signs so you'd know where to sit. Only 4 tables out of probably about 75 were in use, but it was nice to sit and eat our food fresh and hot.

We didn't make it to Cinnamon's yesterday. I told Mike, since I don't know if I'm going to need these two baby quilts, they can wait until the rush is over and they open up to more than 4 customers at a time. I wonder if they'll do appointments. I should call and find out.

I wrote the recommendation letter for Tricia yesterday afternoon. It didn't take too long once I got my mind wrapped around it. I added my email, and phone number with a note to leave a message as I don't answer the phone for numbers I do not know and I would return the call as soon as possible. As much as I hate phone tag, I'd rather do that than deal with all of the nonsense calls. With her being an Navy pilot's wife, they're moving every couple of years. It makes it hard for her to find a job teaching, as she's 'over educated' for what most private schools could afford to pay. Other businesses look at her moving record and don't want to hire her either, then there's the medical - double cancer risk. Thing is she's such a hard worker and can teach children, as well as adults learning to teach children. The biggest thing is, she wants to work and can't find anyone to take a chance on her.

The beaches were open all day yesterday. Families were social distancing. From the news camera angle, it wasn't crowded at all, but there were people sitting and laying out. I can see having an area staked out for your family. If the kids are at the water, you need a place for your towels and stuff. Most of the people shown were being active. It was a wonderful day for water side activities, that's for sure. With the temp hitting 90 today, I'm sure more folks will be out in the afternoon.

I guess today, I'll decide if I'm going to frame the Ark or just create a fabric frame for it and quilt it. Decisions, decisions.

    Have a great day.

Katrina ~ I was surprised to hear your Hobby Lobby is open. They closed down all the CO HL stores as "unessential" businesses.

Joy, numbers in FL have been improving, so the governor has opened retail and restaurants. There are stipulations of course, masks encouraged, social distancing, most have barriers at the check outs, etc.

Hi, I was an Army spouse for 20 years. If there are schools on base why doesn't she apply. I know being a pilot her husband is an officer so no spousal preference but they shouldn't have issues with any of the above things. Military communities tend to take care of their own. I hope she finds something. I have a degree in HR management and it's illegal to ask medical history...why is that a factor? She needs to know what you don't have to disclose on interviews. I have 5 kids, they are grown now but I never disclosed that. There are trick interview questions...i used to interview to get people to talk. Tell me about yourself? Disclose nothing, only work history. I was fortunate, I work for an amazing company and I have the same work history. I was interviewed by a veteran, he explained my work history. Good luck!

Good Morning Everyone, We had a day of serious storms in our area yesterday. We came out fine but some of our neighboring towns got hit hard. There were straight-line winds which are as bad as tornadoes. It’s gloomy today with more rain coming?

There is little to report since we are home all the time. Jeff is out hunting this morning before the rain comes. The Girls are taking their morning nap and will be up soon wanting to go outside. I may bake something today. Jeff has been hinting for a cake for a few days.

I hope everyone is safe and healthy. Take care friends....hugs

      Good morning everyone,
We are in a cold sunny spell again. There may even be wet flurries on the weekend. yikes. I am grateful that despite less than perfect weather, we are safe and not having floods, tornadoes, fires or snow as currently being experienced in parts of North America.

Yesterday was so busy, I was overwhelmed by nighttime. Started my day with DH driving me to mom's place to drop off box of hats, then to DH buddy to give him extra transformer for train set. He had extra one and friend could not get anywhere on line. Then I picked up groceries and bunches of flowers. I dropped off a bunch to 3 GFs for birthday, Mother's Day and just cheering up. Also spoke to mom's place and we tested using FB messenger to chat with her this Wed. Another friend also dropped off a bench for my neighbour to redo wood on cast iron bench. Also DD dropped off it's to give in FB Buy Nothing community group. I will take pictures today. I didn't sew at all. Phone kept ringing, had to keep line clear as I kept missing calls from Bell to install mom's phone. After long discussion, no one is given access to building due to Covid outbreak. So I put phone on vacation mode. We will have to speak via snail mail, email and video chat.

The most upsetting news I discovered reading obituaries before bedtime. Mom likes to know of any relatives. I was shocked and saddened to see her table mate Mrs Delaney had died on April 24 due to Covid, age 97. This would have been 1st death at the home. This now explains why mom was put in her room for meals around that time. They wanted to isolate & test her. They sit a 3' square table - that's not physical distancing. She tested negative. Last I heard is there are 18 residents and 2 staff positive. Today, public health is testing and re-testing residents with negative results. Most distressing. Now I am wondering about mom's other friends in that wing. There is no way to contact them. I'm not certain that I should share this news with her. Maybe it would be ok to tell her a white lie that she died in her sleep.

Today I have a long list of things to do, and step son is dropping by to borrow DH's collection of Harry Potter books and videos. I just hope he is not lending to others, as he will never get them back. I also need to speak to DD about their draft floor plan for new house. It's not flowing well.

Enjoy your day. Stay safe. Be calm and keep moving.

The woman was 97...it is not unusual for someone that age to pass. I wouldn't mention the cause of death but she might need to know where her friend is and why she hasn't seen her

Quilted Twins has a daily email and they sell 1/2 yard packs, yard packs, and lots of yardage. They have lots of blender packs, too.
They just got in 3 pallets of 108 backing and the price per yard is amazing!

Good morning to everyone! Here, near Pittsburgh, it's only in the 50s today and going down into the 30s at night. I thought this was May!
Lots to do around the house. My boyfriend and I sold our houses and bought this place together. We moved in mid-September. I would love to start working in the yard and add some colorful flowers to the property but I need to work on making a book for my grandson's second birthday. It's a fun project and it's something that he will have forever.
We have always driven up to Niagara Falls area each May to play the casinos and go to the great restaurants and wineries in Niagara-on-the-Lake. We love those few days that we spend in the area! Unfortunately this year's trip isn't going to happen. It's funny that I actually look forward to going grocery shopping now, just to be out somewhere. We live near a nice walking trail so we try to get there a couple times a week. It's never crowded but we do get to say Hi to some folks as we walk past.
I want to start building up my stash again and I've been watching the web sites of my favorite quilt shops for new lines of fabrics. I like to buy yardage but I often end up buying precuts. I've accumulated so many jelly rolls! They're nice to have around for something quick.
      Have a happy day!

Sign up for daily e-m's from Jordan's Fabrics in Grants Pass, OR. They run specials on some of their fabrics, patterns, & kits, & Donna posts her video tutorials. I've ordered from them on occasion. At this stage, I'm trying not to buy more fabric since I have such a large stash.

I've been to Niagara Falls numerous times. DS#1, who lives in MD, was planning to visit there in July when his wife's relatives were planning to come over from the Netherlands. But with the pandemic, that's not likely to happen.

I just went to over the rainbow quilt shop today. Another member shared. They have a section where they sell yards of fabric for cheap. They put 10 yards of a line or theme and 50 bucks. Might be worth a look.

My order from my LQS (which isn't really local but the closest one to me) has shipped my order. Hancock's still haven't fulfilled my order YET!! And I was shopping online this morning and bought myself two pairs of Crocs, one pair is specifically called crocs at work. I hope this will help when I am working at those busy offices. Let's see how long they take in coming.

It is exciting to me that my local quilt shop has opened with social distancing. I hope to visit this week, wearing my mask, and buy some background and backing fabric. I am almost at the end of three projects and am itching to start something new. I like to keep several going so I can move from one machine task to a different one and save my back from aching.
I have put masks on hold for the most part but got a request for a special one when in line at the grocery yesterday. The man in the next isle asked where I got my mask, I explained, he said he was a santa at the children's hosp and wanted a mask that said ho ho ho. I told him I could make him one with Christmas fabric but not ho ho unfortunately.🎅 I need to do that one though I hope by Christmas it isn't necessary.
