    Serendipity Saturday

I thought I would get the first word in today so 'Hi' everyone, hoping you are all having a great day.

Today I did an all day workshop of my Serendipity Strips quilt, the ladies had a lovely day, they all finished the quilt top and were started on their borders, so they were all very happy. I am constantly amazed at how these quilts turn out from such a vast variety of different jelly rolls. Today we had some Bali rolls, a Moda in pretty pink/green and a stunning purple roll plus others, they all turned out gorgeous.

I have my eldest grandson staying this weekend so the house is a little busier but it's nice to have kids in the house.

    Have a fun Saturday everyone.

Good morning everyone. Today we have chores to do. Stuff like grocery shopping and cleaning and the rest of the laundry. Not fun but necessary. At any rate, I wish you a happy and creative day. Love to you all, Jan

This is my catch up day too. Have to do the wash, laundromat run for the whites, post office to mail a letter to Odie, get the church bulletins-calendar-Ch. Ed. notes copied, sew(!!!), and out to dinner tonight with hubby and some friends from work. Don't remember the last time we did that.

Speaking of Odie, he comes home 5 weeks from today!

It's cold out there - this morning it was 35. Think we are warming up to about 55.

Hope everyone has a great Saturday!

      Hugs,

          Lynn,

Is your Serendipity Strips quilt the one in your photo album? If so they are really pretty and each different. How big are they?

Happy Saturday all. Have not accomplished a thing today ...took my new med for sleeping and went into a coma. Had a 3rd birthday for my neice next door and got up just in time to bake the lazagna.
Now putting some patterns for applique onto card stock and going to watch a movie...haha ...Lazy girl totally. Big Hugs and I hope everyone has a great night.
I love the name Serendipity Saturday ...I had to look twice to find our daily one lol

Yes they are the ones in my album, the purple one is now completely finished, I should do a new photo. They are made from one entire jellyroll and before borders are approximately 54" x 65", this depends a little on whether you leave out any strips that don't blend nicely. The ones in my album were my learning process so there are a couple different construction styles, I'm happy with the method now and have taught it a few time and everyone has been very happy with their results. Even if you start with the same fabric you get a totally different quilt as it is constructed randomly, and you do not know what you are getting before it is finished, hence the name Serendipity Strips.

Good evening all! I sure hope everybody is having a wonderful Saturday.
I have been doing a bit of stashbusting. I have been wanting to clean up my sewing room, and I figured the best way is to use stash! So, in addition to the blocks I've been cutting for my own rag quilt, I have cut blocks for 2 little girl rag quilts today. This has made a pretty huge dent in my flannel stash. I have started stitching those as they are for a craft show my cousin is having a booth at and she has asked me to contribute items. I just found out last night, at work of all places, that it's in 2 weeks!! So, I really have to get moving and get some more things done. All of the bibs that are in progress, hopefully will be done in time as well!
                Back to stitching!

                  Hello Ladies!
What a day! Worked in the morning, went thrifting with my sis, then to Joann's, grocers and now I am too pooped to pop.

I found some great deals at the thrifts on flannel sheets. I know it probably isn't correct but they make great sammiches for the middle of rag squares. Saves a bundle and that is what I am looking for. Savings that is. Had to purchase some new cutters for my rotary and also some batting.

On Monday, I am going with a co worker to look at a different salon to work at. Where we are is going through some transitions we are not happy with. Also, it is the only way we can away from the crabby gal who drains us of so much joy. I hate to move. I have worked hard there to make it comfy, cozy and welcoming. The place we are looking at is old and needs some elbow grease, so it looks like my next month will be spent sprucing that up if we can arrive at an agreeable rent for everyone. For a little town that is economically beyond depression, the rent for anything here is outrageous. Makes me sick that greed is such an acceptable password these days. I haven't gone up on my prices in 15 years, yet my rent, electric, supplies everything goes up steadily. Oh, and while I am in this frame of mind. Remember a few years back when gas went through the roof? My supplies went up to cover the cost of transportation. Gas has come down but my supplies have continued to increase. Gimme a break! grrrrr.
Off to spend some time with hubs. He is playing some fun music in the background and now and then rolls over in his big chair and says, Do you like that song? What would you like to hear next? What a sweetie.
Have a good evening ladies. I need to finish reading everyone's posts.
