Hi there! I'm new to quilting - not having yet completed my first project. Fell in love with all the beautiful quilts I saw on a visit to the US and decided to have a go. Unfortunately the course I enrolled to do got cancelled, but I did manage a day one which showed me the basics and then found your wonderful site and the great instructional videos. Lots of inspiration there.

Can't wait to see your projects! Again, welcome and due to the time difference, I'm up late so will be looking for you on the board! *HUGS**HUGS* and Alohas, Bridgette

I visited my sister who lives in Maryland. While we were there we visited Pennsylvania, West Virginia and Virginia. We got to see beautiful quilts , especially in Amish country. I've been lucky enough to visit the US on several occasions and have done the stretch from from the East coast to New Orleans to the Grand Canyon and through to the West coast. Unfortunately never been to Texas, but I'm sure it's as beautiful as the rest of the country. Just finished my first project, will try to upload picture soon.

Re: Just saying hello
Hey Linda!
Oooh, you visited some very beautiful parts of the country! We're moving to Virginia, the northern part, in less than 4 years time (counting the minutes now lol!) Texas is VERY big and has multitudinous terrains, so it depends upon what you like, you could easily find something here. Where we live, it's in the northern part, near the large river that divides Texas/Oklahoma, called the Red River and it's very hilly and wooded here. Drive 1-2 hours Northeast of here and you're in the mountains, and I mean REAL mountains, like the Blue Ridge in VA!
I lived in Swindon as a kid, Navy brat and loved it. Learned and competed in a LOT of riding there. That's where my passion for Eventing came from LOL! Not anymore, just trailriding (hacking) and camping w/my horse is all I do. Dunno where you could do that in England?
Anyways, can't wait to see your project!
