    Hello from Cape Town

Hi there.. a beginner quilter - rather late to the party! I made a couple of log cabin quilts in the 80s and have recently started quilting after a very long break. I've so far finished An Angel's Story quilt and a jelly roll Christmas present quilt for my younger daughter. I'm working on Building Houses from Scraps quilt, as well as a memory quilt made from my late mom and dad's clothes, a jelly roll quilt for my older daughter and a practice quilt which I'll probably donate to the animal shelter down the road from where I live. I learnt how to paper piece for the house quilt and I absolutely love it - I'm doing it on a 1936 Singer 15 treadle which is perfect for the job. I would really love to learn how to FMQ and am looking forward to learning a huge amount from this forum

Welcome from Colorado. Both my bro. & sis were born in S. Africa, many yrs. before my time. My parents were missionaries in Mozambique, which then (back in the 1920's) was still called Portuguese East Africa. One can never start quilting too late. It's a wonderful hobby -- an addiction.
