    Hello from Georgia!

Hi! I'm new to the forum, and fairly new to quilting. I've recently retired (2nd time!) from the school business.

I recently viewed Jenny's tutorial for making the Baby Blocks quilt, and decided to give it a try with a patriotic twist. The schoolteacher in me loves decorating for the holidays, and with Memorial Day and July 4 coming, a red, white and blue theme seemed natural for my great room and dining room.

Here are some pics of the quilt, a few pillow covers, a quilted wall hanging, and my table with a runner made with leftover 16 patches and a tabletop tree. (Dishes are Dollar Tree stoneware, sponge printed with glass paint and baked in the oven.) I also made a raggy wreath from TONS of leftover strips and scraps, but if I open the front door at 4 a.m. to take a picture, my dogs will nut up and it will wake my sweet hubby...)

I wanted to share the quilt because I had trouble deciding what to do with the large, white open spaces. I have an embroidery machine, so I ended up doing embroidery in the 5 largest spaces prior to layering everything and quilting. It's not perfect, but it's FINISHED!

If someone can help me with rotating my photos, I'd appreciate it!

Those are fantastic, and so patriotic!

Welcome to the forum, and don't worry about your pictures being sideways, we've learned to just cock our heads to the left (haha)

Hello and welcome to the forum from Michigan. I love your patriotic projects....you're a girl after my own heart. I love patriotic stuff and stars, oh my, I love Stars. So happy you've joined us. About the sideways thingy...it happened to me once and I discovered that it was my iPad. If I cropped the original (just a tad) it thought it was new or something and it was happy and they were right side up. Otherwise, my neck is good, it rotates just fine! Enjoy your stay here.

Welcome to the forum...wish I was as productive as you seem to be!! Are you sure you are new to quilting, everything looks so great!!!
As to the pics, if you click to enlarge them, they go right side up....don't know why but that works for me.

Welcome from another Georgian! What part of GA are you from? I'm NW of Atlanta - if I drive too much farther west, I'm in Alabama. Your quilts look great!

Welcome from Wisconsin! I encourage all you Georgia people to vote, even tho we aren't supposed to be political here. But I can't help it seeing as how things are going in DC.

                    Welcome from Washington State!

As for your photos, when taking your pictures, make sure the button is on the right if you are using a iPad and they will turn out right.

I have visited Americus - and even bought some boiled peanuts there. I lived in Columbus before moving 'north' to Atlanta.
