I am a brand new quilter, taking classes at my local quilt shop and just this morning finished piecing my first quilt, lap size, log cabin. I am loving it and look forward to learning from you all!

Welcome Chellalee, from Minnesota! Congrats on finishing a log cabin. I'd heard that design recommended as a good beginner quilt. I didn't attempt one until my 5th year of quilting, and I didn't find it particularly easy, so good on you! What will you tackle next?
