    Hello from my RV

    Hi everyone,

My name is Sue and I am a full time RVer who is addicted to quilting. After we retired 4 years ago we sold our house in New Jersey and bought a smallish Class C RV. What a lifestyle adjustment!! We travel all over the country for 8 months and spend the winters in sunny Tucson, AZ. It's an interesting life, and we have been to so many wonderful places.

Quilting in this little box is challenging, to say the least! I have filled every space with fabric, have several quilt tops to send to MSQC in the winter, and quilt my own smaller quilts in Tucson. Not quite sure what I'm going to do with all of my quilts, however.....they are taking over.

    Welcome to the forum Sue.

I envy your wandering lifestyle. DH and I have discussed the possibility of exploring this beautiful country of ours in an RV after we retire, but that's a few years away still, and I'm not sure I could give up my sewing room.

As for what to do with all the quilts, what you don't give to friends and family, or donate - can you lay them flat under your mattress to store them, and rotate one to the top of the bed every so often?

Welcome. How exciting to explore the country. I would love to do that for a few months or so. Not sure I would want to do that all the time. Too little space for me, I would feel cramped if for too long.

Hello, Sue. Welcome from Chino Valley AZ, about 200 miles north of Tucson. I love the RV life, too, but we do not full time. We used to spend 4-5 months a year in Lake Havasu in a Class C and I had my featherweight machine for piecing and then I took my embroidery/sewing machine and used to do lots of sewing and quilting! It was a challenge, as you say, to find places for all my supplies and fabrics, but we had a 36 foot motorhome and I usually found room. We only live about 200 miles from Lake Havasu, so we could come home once in a while and I could bring some things home and take more back with me

That always sounded so fun to me. The closest I got was a month in a camper in New Zealand. It was beautiful!!

Welcome from Florida. RVing sound great. We're retired too and sometimes being able to start the car/RV and go sounds wonderful.

Hello and welcome to the forum from Massachusetts.Have you considered donating quilts to different organizations? Like foster care or hospitals or police and fire and the Salvation army?
