A bit late but ...Hello, all.

yea, i tend to miss the "announce your self" portion of forums. My bad.

Hello all. Dee here, long time sewer/seamstress, returning quilting offender (tried my hand way back when, when people still insisted all 'good/pro' quilters hand sewed everything = Ummm, NO, from the Dee.) Quilting and i never saw eye to eye much to the chagrin of my quilting master Grandmother. She sewed quilts for the world, the local homeless, for the local churches "help" closets, children's hospitals, etc. Although I could hold my own with her on most any sewing project, I never could do the craziness of what she did with quilting.

Yet my Gran passed a few years back and bequeathed a "small portion" her massive collection of vintage fabrics and scraps to me (along with a sundry of quilting brick-a-brack to go with it) which has directed me back to "to quilt or not to quilt - just how fussy is it still?" And what to do with half a cargo van worth of fabrics if I didnt want to quilt it.

Turns out that there are people who are re-braining construction techniques that makes sense to me - and less Y stitching things. Jenny and crew have revitalized my interest in all the beautiful possibilities of textile art of quilting. So much so that i have been cutting, sewing, and making some of my favorite quilt squares that my Gran made but with less fuss and waste.I have already completed 4 queen quilt tops, 8 baby blankets, 3 youth coverlets, and one weird "all kinds of whites" Irish chain wedding quilt. So thank you so much to the MSQCo Krew for being freaking awesome for soooo many reasons. - with Love, Dee

      Cool, welcome from Canada.
Blessed are the children of the piecemakers for they shall inherit the quilts!

Hello Dee and welcome to the forum from Massachusetts.Quilting has changed a lot over the years,it has become something that you can do in a day if you really wish.If you have things you don't want you could list on ebay.
