      Hi, Helen,

There is a controversy among quilters about using Frixion pens to mark quilts. There have been discussions here previously about this. You might enter that in the search box to see what comes up. I use them & have not had any problems. Someone said they left marks on batiks. You also can do a Google search for more info.

        Welcome from Missouri.

As JCY said there has been controversy with the pens. I would suggest reading the various posts and information to decide for yourself. If you decide to use them, I would mark a sample of the fabric that you are using to see if it does leave permanent marks.

I use them to mark diagonals. But I don't use them on a quilt top where it might show. On a darker blue fabric I had a faint white mark remain. JCY has steered you right. So many discussions about this, and there is info out there. If it matters to you the company does not recommend you use their Frixion pens to mark fabric.

I like them but on the off chance the marks would reappear I do not use them on quilts I am making for someone else. I use chalk markers or soap slivers for gift quilts. For myself I would not hesitate use the Frixion if it was a quilt I am keeping. If the masks on mine would teappear I know how to get rid of them. For gift quilts I think that kind of info would just go over their heads and they would not at all follow what I was talking about. Now I hope I did not confuse you more!
