Hi! I'm Kelly from Charlotte, NC. Quilting runs in the family, though I just took it up at 60! I retired from my position as Director of Fine Arts and Upper School Music Teacher at an independent school here in Charlotte in June, 2020. After years of daily creativity, I found myself in lockdown with no outlet. So, like many of you, I bought a sewing machine to start making masks and the next thing I knew I was quilting placemats and then quilts! I'm grateful for the internet - for Google, YouTube, but especially Missouri Star and Jenny's tutorials! I'm hooked!

Hi all! I’m Kathryn in The Great Smoky Mtns of East TN. I found myself no longer able to work due to illness and then an empty nester right after. I was at a loss and didn’t know what to do with myself. Then I found sewing was something I could do to keep my mind busy while not aggravating my illness. I’m so happy I found Missouri Star on YouTube. I look forward to making friends here and learning from all of you.

From one Kathryn to another welcome! This group is the very best by far. We are an eclectic family, but family none the less LOL

Welcome to the Missouri Star Forum, from Southern California. I hope you each post a photo of the next quilt you complete. The thing we do best around here is to OOH and AHH as we view each other's quilts!
Toni (Southern California) ... If I keep sewing long enough, will they make their own dinner?

Hey Y’ALL! Glad to be here. I’m a quilting dabbler that is turning into much more. I can’t stop sewing! I love making quilts and little projects. By profession, I am a private music teacher specializing in piano and voice. I have the right amount of students to give me freedom to sew during the day. I also love to garden, play piano, and dabble in other crafts. I’m looking forward to seeing what is here in the forum and getting to know some new quilting friends!

Hello, I am new to this forum. I have been quilting for a while but still, have lots to learn. Looking forward to participating on here when I am not sewing/quilting on something. I enjoy MSQ tutorials just wish I could be one of those that seam to get their quilts created so quickly, I don't do anything quick. It is just how I am programmed😎.

Slow is good. Its a process meant to be savored and enjoyed, not rushed through.

Hello everyone! I live in Ohio currently. I have been sewing since i first started in 4-H. After I did that for a few years I just kept ip with it and even sewed clothes for my kids until they begged me to stop. I taught myself the fundamentals of quilting as a way to make a baby quilt for my third child and was hooked. I love making things with my hands. I find it satisfying and stress relieving too. Nice to be here and thank you for having me here.
