Hi! I just joined because I was looking for help with my long arm machine. I have a Juki TL2200 QVP and I purchased from a private seller (another quilter) about 6 months ago. I’ve only been longarming that long but quilted on a Bernina QE550 before that.

Hi I am new to sewing and have a new Janome MC6650 and would love to learn to quilt. I have spent most of my life in an arena watching my sons play hockey and never had the time to get into sewing. Now they are grown, I have some time for me now although I am antique I am willing to learn. I hope it isn't too late for me. I am from Canada and don't really have access to all the lovely fabric stores so I will need to order online from places that will deliver to Canada. I am eager to learn and get busy..lol..I watched the video on making the Alter Ego...and I already have questions..lol...can I alter this by adding squares to make this big enough for a King size bed? How much more material would I need? I have no idea how you ladies figure all this out..I am hoping I can get this done for Christmas. Thanks for letting me join..I promise not to bug you all too much.

Welcome to the forum. We have many friends here from Canada. Perhaps, they'll be able to guide you to some fabulous quilting shops close to you!

Hi Everyone, I am here on behalf of my wife. My Mom gave her a Bernina 830 and she is quickly learning which makes me very proud of her. I joined your group because I know we are going to have question and know if anyone knows it would be you guys. I do have two questions: Where do I post or start a new conversation on this site? Second: I'm looking for oil to lubricate my her Bernina 830. I wrote Bernina who in turn pointed me to a dealer, I wrote the dealer but no response. Bernina says I should use "only" the oil made for this specific machine. Can anyone tell me where I can buy? Thanks in advance

Hi Steven! Welcome to the Forum. Your question is an excellent one to post in the forum. Here in the "introduce yourself" section, people don't usually poke around to see what questions need to be answered. So here's what to do:
        Click on "Forums"
        Click on "Quilting Questions"
        Click on "New Topic"
Post your question with a topic like "Oil for Bernina 830?"

Of course, if I knew the answer to your question, I'd answer it here!

Hello everyone! My name is Leah and I'm from Copperas Cove, TX. I'm am a school librarian and new to quilting. Back in December or so, I went down a rabbit hole at work. I was doing some research on books at the National World War II museum and I found a book on World War II quilts. My mom introduced me to quilts by taking me to an antique quilt show when I was in grade school, and that plus the book, peaked my interest. I bought the book and looking through it, I was like, "I want to do this." I decided I wanted to try making quilts and here I am. My school had spring break the first week of March. I made my block quilt then. Spring break went from one week to three to online school. In the meantime, I continued to make quilts. I'm up to four as of today and I'm currently working on a bed runner. I'm learning new things everyday and I'm never bored when I'm quilting.

Welcome from SW Ohio. You have entered a rabbit hole of quilting addiction. LOL Have any questions? Someone here will be able to help...just ask away.

Welcome to the best forum on the Internet! There are a lot of wonderful, helpful quilters on this site to help you with your new hobby!

Hi new to this site and blogs. I've sewed for years but with working full time and raising a family the last several years I've become more of a collector of all things sewing. I have collected at least a dozen sewing machines. More rulers than I can count. I love fabric and sewing accessories. Spare time has mostly been thrift stores and estate sales. I love it when at an estate sale a family member will be so excited when I enquire about sewing items, they are so proud of the collection that their loved one left. They want someone to appreciate the collection. I frequently buy fabric I am not thrilled with just to see the excitement on their face. That being said I am going thru fabric and was going to throw away a bunch of 70s fabric when I watched Jenny make a dog bed. So now I'm cutting up the ugly, itchy, polyester sheer etc. fabric and making a liner filled with scraps for my 10 lb puppy. I'm going to use an old sheet that smells like my husband. Puppy loves her man. I'll post picture when finished.

Hello, everyone! My name is Alicia and I am from a small town near Corpus Christi, Texas. I am a wife, mom to one (so far), a court reporter for my day job, and a worship leader at my church. I have just started quilting with my sister. It has been in our family for a long time, but we are just now getting started. Our beloved aunt who was pretty big into quilting passed away this past November, and we determined in our minds to learn. Well, Covid hit, and that sent us home to work. Thankfully, one of our quilt shops nearby was open and we were able to take a beginner's course and start on our journey! I have made one other quilt, but have about a billion in mind.

I look forward to learning from everyone here!
