    Hello from Alabama!

My name is Denise, wife and mother of six (yes, six!). I love knitting and crocheting or anything crafty, gardening, baking and cooking. I also make my own soap and I'm currently studying about herbal medicine and wild foods.
Quilting is something I've always wanted to learn, so I'm jumping in with both feet and will probably ask lots of questions!
Hope everyone's having a great summer and I look forward to meeting you all.

Hello Denise and welcome! I reckon with 6 children, you get used to hearing "I didn't do it" !
Hope you find some time to come back and visit with us regularly. Would love to see some of your handiwork!
    Many blessings to you

Welcome from Vermont. Enjoy the site and quilting. You'll be addicted just like me. I've only been quilting since March. The folk here have been so helpful and inspirational.

I got a sewing machine for my husband. Good trade, huh!?!

Blessed are the children of the piecemakers for they shall inherit the quilts!

Welcome from someone else in Alabama. If you live in the Shelby County area there is a quilt guild that meets monthly the first Thursday of each month at the No Shelby Co Library on 119 about half way between 280 and 65. Evening Star Quilt Guild would be happy to have you join us.

Thank you everyone, for such a warm welcome!
With only two kids left at home I figured it's time to be a bit selfish and do some things I've always wanted to do. Quilting was something I wanted to try, so I got my sewing machine out last week and I've been looking for an easy first project to do, as well as picking up fabric here and there.
Claire, I'm in Tuscaloosa, but thank you for the invite.
Oh and yes, I'll be sure and share pictures of my projects as they come along and hope to see everyone else's, too!
