Just joined the forum today after posting a question on fb. Was suggested I join and ask the question here. Have been making quilts since '92. Right now am working on a king-sized quilt for my bed. On one side of the flat part or the part that lays flat on the top of the mattress, there is a panel with appliquéd flowers, stems, leaves, etc. that runs the length of the top. Have done plenty of appliqué. Am wondering what would be the best technique to use on a quilt that will be used, tugged at, laid on, etc. Thanks for your suggestions.

HI from Missouri. About your hand vs.. machine applique, I think in one of the Quilting Quickly magazines, she demonstrates both methods. I don't think it matters, both would be secure. It would just be a matter of how much time you have to spend on finishing the applique.Last edited by Jean Sewing Machine; April 18, 2014, 03:16 PM.
