Re: New to this forum but not new to quilting

Welcome from Colorado! I also am a retired nurse (2009). I took my 1st beginner's quilting class in Jan. 2010 & have been at it ever since. I used to quilt the old way, sans modern equipment (i.e. paper pattern & scissors) & using yarn to tie the quilts. I love the creativity of it all. JCY

Hello from Illinois and another retired nurse. I also started quilting about 9 years ago when I made a quilt for our first grandchild. Welcome to the forum.

New to this forum but not new to quilting

Hi All ~ I'm a retired nurse who found quilting about 9 years ago. I live in CNY (that's Central New York, for anyone who is wondering) and I belong to a wonderful quilt guild .... Towpath Quilt Guild. As far as quilting goes, I tend to get bored doing the "same ole', same ole".... I like to try new techniques. Though if I had to narrow down what type of quilting I enjoy most, I guess I would have to say either paper piecing (love the accuracy!) or making landscape wall hangings. My friend introduced me to the Missouri star videos on YouTube and that's how I wound up on this forum
